Did it!

Homework hell here too, despite daily reminders from me to get it done. PE kits are clean at least, although I have just dug DH in the ribs and reminded him he has yet to clean the school shoes.

I've had a lovely day; just me and the DDs at home, as the boys were at football, then off to an ice hockey match. I did an overdue cull of my clothes, putting some in the loft and rearranging my drawers (ooh err). This evening, I worked my way through a pile of mending (polishes halo) while watching Grease. The DDs had fingers in their ears through most of it, owing to my loud and enthusiastic singing along. Scary to think that I was just a little older than DD2 when it came out.

bigTillyMint · 04/11/2013 06:51

CV, you clean shoes?Shock!
And DS and I watched a bit of Grease (he has seen it about 30 times already - was his favourite film when he was about 10!) - they all looked so young, but I remember thinking that they all looked way too old to be at High School when it first came out!

Just dreading the first drama's of the day...

hattymattie · 04/11/2013 08:27

I'm now having a peaceful coffee with Radio 4 and MN. All back at school after a 6.30 start! DS asked me if I could find him some clothes after I had explicitly told him to look out his clothes last night. Otherwise not too traumatic.

Had a row with DD2 yesterday who did not want to go for a walk because she had three tests. I kicked her outside saying she had had two weeks to revise - consequently huge flounce.

I wish I could have gone to the Algarve.

motherinferior · 04/11/2013 08:31

Our day started with mucho weeping from DD2 who cannot find her trackie bottoms (the one downside of a non-uniform school is that PE stuff gets kind of lost, weltering with other stuff). I actually don't care though am slightly aware that her father's grumpy statement that 'we' can get her some more means me zipping to Sainsbury's. DD1 is under strict instructions to get on with her various unfinished homeworks tonight.

My Woolovers jumper arrived on Sat while we were all out so is languishing at the depot. My cousin was wearing one of those merino/cashmere blend tunics from there, though, and it looked very nice. And not 'paper-thin' as various people on here warned me it might be when I was tempted by something similar last year Grin

No homework here (hooray!) PE Kit washed and packed and ds was up and dressed at 7.40 (only because he had forgotten to turn his clock back Grin )

I smell of woodsmoke despite a bath and two hair washes.........

Algarve looked fab Herbs.....

bigTillyMint · 04/11/2013 08:52

Well, no melt-downs at our house this morningShock

And I am back at work! 7 weeks to go.....

herbaceous · 04/11/2013 11:39

Mad dash to school, as I indulged DS's request for a 10-minute snuggle in bed with me this morning. How can I resist?

Just returned from Sainsbury's with another haul of clothing. And £200 of food.

Now must put it all away, then crack on finding volunteer SALT posts!

motherinferior · 04/11/2013 12:15

You softy, herbs Grin

My woolovers jumper has arrived and is, frankly, classy. (By my standards.) I may never take it off.

Though am tempted by a rather generous White Company voucher Wink to purchase this d'you think I can wash it?

OP posts:
motherinferior · 04/11/2013 12:30

Or go off-piste with this which is something I would never normally go for and which is rather terrific.

OP posts:
lalsy · 04/11/2013 13:08

MI, I have only taken my woolovers jumper off for as long as it took to wash and dry it.

beachyhead · 04/11/2013 13:48

MI, love the second one... I might have a small voucher knocking around somewhere too... Couldn't open the first one .

What a lovely day after all those gales last night!

motherinferior · 04/11/2013 14:02

I really quite long for that second one.

First one was this but in all honesty can do a Woolovers dupe...

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 04/11/2013 15:21

That's the same as the second one link, MI!

How about this? Though would probably take a bit of looking after!

motherinferior · 04/11/2013 15:24

Obviously fate wants me to get the black one Grin

Feel quite extravagant if I get two jumpers. The fact all my others are now tatty and shrunken does rather mitigate though.

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 04/11/2013 15:29

Shrunken doesn't bode well for expensive cashmereWink I know as I have been there, shrunk the jumper!

addle · 04/11/2013 15:39

those jumpers are lovely - and it has definitely now turned into chilly, jumper weather. and i can also vouch for the loveliness of lalsy's woolover jumper which has even been through the washing machine. two jumpers really does not seem excessive

motherinferior · 04/11/2013 15:44

All my jumpers go through the washing machine Blush. We do have a very gentle cycle when DP isn't chucking everything in on hot

OP posts:
beachyhead · 04/11/2013 18:56

On shirts, I am on the endless quest for shirts to wear to work (with my same old black or grey trousers) and I've just bought this which is cut really nicely and even when out, rather than tucked in, sits on the hips, rather than flaring.... and will most certainly go in the washing machine. And for good luck, I got this.

Just because she is wearing it with jeans doesn't mean I can't wear it to work....just saying Grin

motherinferior · 04/11/2013 19:42

Ooh that is nice.

Bastard bastard bastard client has just sent copy back complaining AGAIN. They make me feel really stupid and incompetent. Back to the keyboard....

OP posts:
Blackduck · 05/11/2013 06:23

Oh nice Beachy...

MI you are not incompetent - they just don't know what the hell they want....

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/11/2013 07:50

Nice top Beachy, but it would make me look like a Tellytubby, I fear. Had v stressful funeral yesterday, keeping my mother in check - a couple of examples, I will share with you: "Who are those black people? She didn't know any black people - what are they doing here?" (Of course, my mother thought she should know every person her friend had ever known in her life.) Then we had "Why wasn't I asked to speak? I've known her for at least as long as Doreen and Brenda." She has a loud voice, that carries.

I had horrific period pain all day, got home and was violently sick. This is happening more and more (like most months). Suppose I should go and see the doctor.

Blackduck · 05/11/2013 08:33

Oh MrsS that sounds stressful...

And yes re doctors!!

bigTillyMint · 05/11/2013 08:54

Oh no, MrsS - difficult.

Yes, definitely get to the doctors.

motherinferior · 05/11/2013 09:53

Yes, PLEASE go to the doc. What a vile start to the week.

OP posts:
hattymattie · 05/11/2013 10:28

Sounds awful Mrs S - agree go and see doc. Your mother sounds like one of those naughty sitcom grannies.
