Did it!

BTM - how scary! But at least it all ended well.

MI - many jigsaw congratulations!

Am taking DD2 to have her eyes tested tomorrow as she claims not to be able to see. Also need to sort out orthodontist for DD1. Why is this sort of thing always my problem? And why are schools so useless too? DD2's school claimed we didn't inform them of our new address. Yet they clearly have our home phone number - which was sent in the email when we informed them of our new address. DD1's school made us fill in myriad forms in paper, and then informed us that we had to fill in all the same details online. DD2's school informs me that the local doctor won't register her without sight of her passport, so the passport goes up and back down as "they didn't have time to register the boarders this week."

Will register us with a dentist tomorrow (or try to). It never bloody stops.

I frequently feel like a Family PA as I rattle off a list of 'things to be done' and not only have I (usually) arranged it, but it's written on the sodding calendar ..... And breath.....

MrsS sounds a real mare - like ds's school being somewhat put out when I said he couldn't do the orientation day at a local secondary because we had to get him there and back and we were both working.... (This was the last of a run of such requests) Working parents - who'd have thought it...

motherinferior · 29/10/2013 08:38

BTM, how is DH today?

I have a client going bonkers on my @rse. OTOH, I can use this as lever to get DD1 to get the bus herself to the friend's where she is spending the day (it is v close, dammit!) and I am aglow with the smuggery of having done a run in the sunshine.

Blackduck · 29/10/2013 08:47

Yes BTM how's DH? Oi crepeys I am hopefully meeting collage chums on 28th Nov so would be up for a mini midweek drinkies on 27th?

Great minds MI. Am just off to sweat and gasp my way through another session with Laura

Blackduck · 29/10/2013 10:05

Is that a yes ladies.... :)

motherinferior · 29/10/2013 10:13

It is a parched gasp, BDGrin QQ, I feel it is time we did a cover version called 'tell Laura I loathe her'...

Have rewritten copy on stress, now off to meeting at Readers Digest. Bernstein and Woodward would have been proud of meShock

I can do 27th, but as it's a Wed I will have to watch the booze - hangovers don't mix well with my job!

DH is fineSmile I, OTOH, am less so as I forgot my blue inhaler (how could I be so stupid?) - I am allergic to my DM's house and couldn't breathe properly last night so had to try to sleep sitting up. Not good. Just been out to buy Piriton in a hope to manage the last few hours here!

wilbur · 29/10/2013 11:52

BTM - so glad dh is now ok, but poor you. I have also done the scary sleeping sitting up in a dusty house when I forgot my inhaler, and the next day I went to Boots, still wheezing, and they rang my dr and got a phone prescription to give me an inhaler on the spot. Worth a try if you're still suffering?

Can't make the 27th, darn it, got a school do on.

Shruti04 · 29/10/2013 11:53

Hii all, wow new interesting topic it is. Crepe Papers. I am new in this forum, join me in this community to get chat with you all.

bigTillyMint · 29/10/2013 12:10

Wilbur, the very lovely Boots girl said I could do exactly that but as we are off back home this evening, I opted for the Piriton. Seems to be helping!

CointreauVersial · 29/10/2013 13:10

Ooh, I'll check my diary, BD.

motherinferior · 29/10/2013 13:44

And any update on the ahem shade of grey, CV ?

OP posts:
CointreauVersial · 29/10/2013 19:01

MI - some things should just stay private....ohhh, you mean my new jumper!.....I would say it's definitely on the darker side of the grey spectrum, but with a "marl". The moss stitch stops it looking too schooly (but it's still grey nevertheless Grin ).

lalsy · 29/10/2013 23:35

Is the grey in the picture on the website a good approximation? (Apologies to everyone else not obsessing about moss stitch jumpers)

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/10/2013 08:43

Had a lovely day yesterday with my favourite cousin (who is an excellent cook), and invited ourselves there for Christmas lunch. GrinGrinGrin

motherinferior · 30/10/2013 08:58

RESULT, MrsS!

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 30/10/2013 10:42

It is excellent - it means my mother will be diluted, and her father, who is in the early stages of Alzheimers, will have someone to talk to, and she and I can get bladdered together. Grin I have said I will prep all the veg and bring them with us and also make mince pies and a stollen. Am looking forward to it, rather than having my mother sit there moaning with a face like a smacked arse, saying "You could die of thirst around here" or making herself a cup of tea and not asking if anyone else would like one.

The Younger Schadenfraulein and the Elder Inferiorette are playing happily on the Wii, and we are off to the Imperial War Museum shortly.

motherinferior · 30/10/2013 10:58

I am trying to motivate myself to work. This will be easier this afternoon after paying Real Money to a teenager to take DD2 (currently lounging in her PJs) out to the park or, well, I don't care where, frankly. It's a lovely sunny day.

OP posts:
QueenQueenie · 30/10/2013 11:00

Result indeed Mrs S! Do you think my Dad could join in without being noticed?

bigTillyMint · 30/10/2013 11:03

Sounds perfect MrsS!

It is indeed a beautiful day. We are on the bus to meet our goddaughter and family and take the boat down the Thames to the O2 for lunch.

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/10/2013 11:10

Hello Shruti, and welcome! Smile

motherinferior · 30/10/2013 14:17

I have two more commissions. FFS, why couldn't they all be spaced out?

motherinferior · 30/10/2013 15:02

(So I've bought that sweater.)
