Did it!

Navy makes me look dead. I could try the green, for a hat-trick...

Love that jumper - shall we all turn p to the next meet up wearing it ;)

hattymattie · 28/10/2013 15:38

Have bought a winter coat in Esprit - I'm really happy it actually gives me a shape and makes me look smart. I've been looking for a single breasted coat for years (I always look like I'm going to explode out of double breasted.)

QueenQueenie · 28/10/2013 15:50

ooh you woolover pushers... had to have a look and found this which I'm rather tempted by. Cashmere / merino? £35? Not bad! Or will it look like a dressing gown?

QueenQueenie · 28/10/2013 15:50

err, here

Cremolafoam · 28/10/2013 16:14

QQ that's lovely as is the wool overs one.
I have bought a red coat online. Not the BHS one. Can't wait for it to arrive. I may daringly go out for a coffee in it.( furthest I've been so far was my mothers to collapse in her sofa for an hour) oh the excitement.
Occupational health doctor meeting at work tomorrow to see if I'm well enough to go back to work. ( no way) mutters darkly about taxpayers money....Confused

motherinferior · 28/10/2013 16:22

I always worry with belted cardigans; mind you, being v short with huge shoulders and bosoms kind of exaggerates the dressing-gown effect. And, sadly, not in a negligee kind of a way...

OP posts:
motherinferior · 28/10/2013 16:25

....so on someone more normal shaped (ie you, and most other people) the effect would be proportionately diminished.

Talk to me about running MI. Are you still doing the C25K thingumajig? I'm on week three and juuust about managing but it's no walk in the park . Is it meant to be so hard?? Or am I just enormously unfit? Hmmm I think I know the answer... but interested in how you're doing.

motherinferior · 28/10/2013 17:09

I have ahem slightly plateau'd, a bit further along, at week 7. Bear in mind I was a keen swimmer so the cardio bit wasn't as hard for me but my lawd my legs and feet took some getting used to it. I haven't run since last Weds (did swim last Thursday) and am grimly resigned to dragging myself out again tomorrow morning as long as a tree doesn't fall on my head. I have been knackered, and then DP went away...

There is a strong bit of me that doesn't want to run tomorrow but having to get the money's worth of my new shoes helps.

Woolies look lurverly.

Anfield trip was memorable. DH and I only got as far as the Press Office and then ended up in an ambulance to the Royal. I think DH thought he was dying, and I did too for a moment. His heart rate dropped dramatically and he looked terrible. It turned out he was having a fainting fit. Phew!

DD was the epitome of a self-centred teenager - sulking because it was boring she used to be so loving and caringConfused

Cremolafoam · 28/10/2013 17:22

Shock Btm is he ok now!!?

motherinferior · 28/10/2013 17:23

OMG, is he OK?

OP posts:
CointreauVersial · 28/10/2013 17:27

Oh BTM, what an awful shock. Hope he's OK.

hattymattie · 28/10/2013 17:41

[Shock] BTM - hope your DH is recovering. I can't believe DD sulked when her father was ill. Did they found out what brought it on?

bigTillyMint · 28/10/2013 17:45

Yes!Smile He started to look OK once the doc at the hosp saw him. And large subway may have helped too!

Everyone we encountered along the way was absolutely lovely, with a good pinch of Scouse humour - made me proud to have been born a Scouser Smile

We went back to the ground to pick up the car and see the museum and were treated like minor celebs! We even got a free photo with the cup (first time DH has ever appeared on a photo looking taller than me - they gave him an IKEA step to stand on to see over the cup!

lalsy · 28/10/2013 17:48

BTM how scary for you all. I hope your dh feels better.

(FWIW, I think teens react like that because they are old enough to know it is scary, and that is their way of coping with the (horrific) possibility that their parents are human and mortal. My dh had similar last year (ambulance, ECG, etc) - turned out fine. dc pretty unmoved on the surface.)

QueenQueenie · 28/10/2013 17:50

God BTM you poor things. That must have been very frightening. Very glad all ended well. Your dd is living proof that it's not maliciousness etc it's clearly true that teenagers are just wired differently - for a bit only we hope!

bigTillyMint · 28/10/2013 17:50

The doc who was really lovely said it could have been a combo og factors - tiredness, change in temp (had just come inside), lack of food (not convinced by that one!) - who knows! DH is most pleased as the paramedics said he had the heart-rate of a pro footballer! TBF, he has got a low resting pulse and mine is pretty low too Smile

bigTillyMint · 28/10/2013 17:56

Lalsy, yes was ECG too. Scary stuff even though the medics were all trying to reassure me. The one who took the DC in the car must have done too good a job on DDGrin

And yes it really brought home to me just how self-centred teens can be. So let's all remember that when we are feeling bad about our parenting! Enen DS was shocked by her!

She did snap out of itSmile

Cremolafoam · 28/10/2013 18:33

Oh BTM what a day. You poor thing . Glad dh is ok now and got a photo with The Cup!

bigTillyMint · 28/10/2013 18:46

Thanks everyone for your good wishesSmile

And please excuse my typos - I'm on my phone!

Blackduck · 28/10/2013 20:10

Oh BTM what drama!! Hope all is okay now!

I gave up trying to get home tonight - the trains are screwed - rolling stock in the wrong place etc etc AND signal failure.... Have gone to a friend (who is away) - slumped on sofa reading cookery books (liking Slaters Eat)

motherinferior · 28/10/2013 21:08

I am on the edge of exhausted tears sorting out childcare and wondering why DP can't do it. I know this is unfair as he is picking up DD1 for her orthodontist appointment while I have meetings but I am the one who has slotted a complicated jigsaw into place and NOBODY HAS NOTICED.

Except you lot, obviouslyGrinGrinGrin

OP posts:
Auriga · 28/10/2013 21:32

BTM, very sorry to hear what a fright you got and glad it turned out well. And MI, you deserve a medal. Have one.

Was scared myself driving across Kent this morning but managed okay. One big old tree down in our road. Loads of people round here are converting attics, so there's scaffolding everywhere but it mostly seems to have held.
