So, are bootleg jeans a complete no no?

I'm just too short and curvy to get away with skinnies (plus I wore them when they were called drainpipes and I was 2 sizes smaller). Can I give in to my age (mid 40s) and wear bootlegs that actually suit me?

Italian style is usually fairly grim, in my opinion - I am thinking Nancy Del'olio & Dontella. I certainly wouldn't look to Italy for my style inspiration...

Victoria Beckham has always clung to her bootlegs along with her orange tan -she would have been well advised to step away from both.

Nope, still not sold on bootlegs.

Nancy and Donatella are no more representative of Italian style than Katy Price is of British style Wink.

"I think they're coming back"

They never went away. The shops are full of them and have been for years, except that now there are even more in bootcut style than any other.

squoosh · 18/09/2013 15:45

There aren't more bootcuts than any other style in any of the shops I've been to.

Bunbaker · 18/09/2013 15:46

I probably shop in unfashionable shops Grin

NettoSuperstar · 18/09/2013 18:55

I'm sure, I shop in unfashionable shops, but I like my clothes, I feel good and I'm comfy.
It does me.

Bunbaker · 18/09/2013 19:42

Hi Netto, Haven't "seen" you for ages. How are you?

Fishandjam · 29/09/2013 08:12

I bring the results of research done in California (no need to thank me, it was a pleasure) Grin

Apart from a few young things who were still rocking the skinnies-and-ballet-pumps look, most women were wearing the tight bootcut style mentioned upthread - clingy to mid-shin, then slightly flared.
