Cremolafoam · 21/09/2013 13:16

Btm did you witness actual alcohol going into the drinks at Cubana ?
I am skeptical as it had seemingly no effect on meWink

Or perhaps I'm inured Shock

bigTillyMint · 21/09/2013 13:18

Well, I saw the barmen pouring from vodka/other spirits bottles into the mix. And I could taste the alcohol (at least at first!)

I think you are inured!

hattymattie · 21/09/2013 13:22

Crepey meet-up sounds fab - can we have some photos - esp for BD and I.(Vicarious enjoyment)

Stropperella · 21/09/2013 13:36

I'm on the train, sans hangover. Thank you very much to all involved in organising last night. It was excellent. Had a lovely breakfast with BTM and am now off to play the UN role at home. Dd called me to complain that ds woke her up this morning by playing his trombone in her ear...

Cremolafoam · 21/09/2013 18:48

Did any sane person actually take any photos . I forgot-duh
Blush

Cremolafoam · 21/09/2013 18:51

I am in wahaca with an old squeezeShock

And his lovely wife

bigTillyMint · 21/09/2013 19:22

Cubana Friday, Wahaca Saturday - way to go!

We are off out for a drink and then to friends for dinner. Think I need a hair of the dog - I am seriously wilting.

herbaceous · 21/09/2013 19:26

I don't think anyone, sane or otherwise, took any pics. Something of an oversight!

I'm having a lovely anniversary dinner in. Fish pate followed by braised lamb shanks, then some of the chocolates DP bought me. Prepared using the ceramic knives, and to be eaten viewing the loverly autumnal flaaars that came to the door today. Most satisfactory.

bigTillyMint · 21/09/2013 19:29

Awwww!Smile

Cremolafoam · 21/09/2013 19:33

Good job herbs. Were the knives appreciated?

Nomnom taco guac and chilli.

I know BTM get me, with ideas above my station:0)....
Have a lovely rest of weekend all Smile

Stropperella · 21/09/2013 20:35

Happy anniversary, Herbs and Mr Herbs!
I can report that dd did fantastically well in keeping things on track when I was away. All animals tended, cooking done, medicine given to poorly ds and hoovering all done. And tonight she has gone out to the cinema with friends. All very positive :)

Well done to DD Strops - esp the hoovering - above and beyond ...

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/09/2013 08:49

Hoorah! DH is taking a pile of stuff to the tip! Grin

Have reported the Spam.

Good news about tip MrsS. Progress.

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/09/2013 10:09

Yes, Alto! I have also persuaded him to take the disgusting armchairs as well, so this will give us a bit more space (if not somewhere to sit). It is our wedding anniversary next week and I can get very cheap tickets for The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui on that very night. DH (who does not share my love of Brecht) is less than enthusiastic about the idea. Shall I go on my own on another night?

CointreauVersial · 22/09/2013 10:41

Up early this morning to drop DH to Gatwick, so I put together a huge to-do list to fill my longer-than usual Sunday.

However, four hours on I am still lounging about doing very little. Blush I have however read the Sunday Times from cover to cover, when it usually lasts me all week.

motherinferior · 22/09/2013 10:48

I am having a non-drinking weekend Grin. I feel depressingly clear-headed though knackered.

bigTillyMint · 22/09/2013 11:44

Came in from pilates to DD screaming at me where are her jeans and being EXTREMELY rude. Ten mins later BFF is at door and she's all smilesAngry+Confused

I am also knackered after two late (for me) nights and rather a lot of alcohol.

Is it worth getting the ST today then, CV?

motherinferior · 22/09/2013 12:00

The rudeness is horrible, isn't it. I am so sorry.

motherinferior · 22/09/2013 12:13

I have had a brief conversation with my mother and am having a melt down. Which, considering it was about a meeting she is speaking at, does not reflect well upon me. I am in a welter of Larkinesque despair.

bigTillyMint · 22/09/2013 12:18

Thanks MI! The parent-child relationship is very tricky, isn't it?!

Stropperella · 22/09/2013 12:54

The dcs are fighting over who gets to do their piano practice. Grin I'm loving this. Don't suppose it will last very long, though.

BTM, am really sorry to hear dd is behaving like that. I hope you get an apology later.

MI Sad . I hope that the gloom passes soon. Despair-laden Sundays are not good.

I am doing a vast number of oven-roasted vegetables (lots of them home-grown) for lunch and am going to enjoy them with a nice glass of red. I am not allowing myself to be cast down by being easily the lowest-achieving crepey, but am instead feeling inspired by all of you and am now planning on how to achieve some meaningful career targets by the time I'm 55. Phase one is a course I'm going on in 3 weeks to get me started in my new translation niche. I have already done some homework. I reckon I will be able to rack up some new achievements and move on from the morass I have been a bit stuck in for some years.

motherinferior · 22/09/2013 13:02

Stropps, I want that lowest-achieving slot pleaseGrin

Am tempted to fall off wagon with similar glass or two of red.

I do wish my mother would not allege that she is proud of me when in fact she is so ashamed of my career she has to pretend I am a lecturer (on the strength of a couple of terms a few years ago) and she clearly thinks I am a hideous white monstrosity.
