BTM, sorry Blush Immediately after I posted that last night, I thought "oops, did somebody mention a bird phobia at some point?"

CV, we have a vast loft - but most of it is our office. Grin

I did the MN eBay challenge last year which was to make £300 for Christmas. It worked well and I'm going to try and do that again this year. I'm a terrible one for acquiring clothes for an occasion and then falling out of love with them afterwards. I'm going to wait for the free listing weekend to fire sale the lot . Grin

My S&b challenge for next week will be packing only a minuscule carry on bag for London . You will have to forgive me for crepey clothes laydees . I will be recognisable by my crinkly ness.Smile

Hi ruby! Hope everything's okSmile

hattymattie · 13/09/2013 10:41

Hello Ruby - I've given up on style and beauty for the moment. Rain again Angry. Roofers have actually been by and said they'll work sat and sunday as they are so behind. They just need two good days to do the wood and then after the tiles can be put even if it's raining. DD1 has taken herself off to friends for the weekend - she say's it's too cold and her room is uninhabitable.

motherinferior · 13/09/2013 10:58

I have just had my eyebrows threaded. Which was the extent of my S&B for, well, the foreseeable future. I may pick up a packet of hair dye some time soon.

bigTillyMint · 13/09/2013 11:05

StoppsGrin - I'm not that phobic - just don't like them much!

Hi ruby - hope the unpacking's going well!

Stropperella · 13/09/2013 11:12

I have been very much going for the "natural look" over the summer, which kind of worked but now I just look like Mrs Beige of Beigeville. I am somehow blending into myself. So I will at least dye lashes and brows before turning up at the crepey meet and blending into the background. My hair is turning grey at a horrible rate but dye is never going to be a good plan for me, so I'm just going with the flow there.

Inspired by MrsS's bookcase vigour, I am distracting self with looking through the ahem Argos catalogue, which has many storage solutions.

No closer to an outfit for tonight, tho at the moment a souwester and snorkel could be appropriate.

And no closer to booking a holiday. Almost tempting to just brave the UK, and have bracing wet walks, 'fun' outings to attractions, etc. A return trip to Lyme Regis, perhaps...

What I want is Lyme Regis, but in Spain.

QueenQueenie · 13/09/2013 12:30

Have a look at San Sebastian Herbs, a bit like Diuthwold... but in Spain. Amazing food too and near Bilbao for a dose of culcher.

Southwold even.

Hey Ruby - all unpacked? I thought of you today, as I signed the Bikeability forms for DD2 and noted the requirement for waterproof clothing!

Crem - I did that eBay challenge too, but last Easter, I think. My total was bumped up considerably by the box of Pippa dolls, meanwhile the pile of outgrown clothing and other household detritus gets ever larger. That's the problem with having a giant loft with door access.

It's one of my new (school) year resolutions - to get back into the flow of eBaying. I usually manage a few weeks, and then it all gets forgotten.

Hattie - your roof situation sounds miserable. All that dry weather we just had......

hattymattie · 13/09/2013 13:23

CV - I had Pippa dolls, and Tammy and Maria and er Brit I think they were our favourites. I'm sure DM has long ago chucked them.

On the weather front - can't believe it was 30° this time last week. I have clearly done something to upset the gods.

CointreauVersial · 13/09/2013 13:28

Well my DM, who is normally an avid declutterer who would throw out your cup of tea if you put it down for too long, for some reason squirrelled my box of Pippas away. They sell for ££ on eBay, as do the outfits (I was a very careful child and still had all the shoes/gloves/hats etc).

Cremolafoam · 13/09/2013 13:49

Oh I have a box of Sindy and Amanda- Jane . Lots of outfits including ballet tutu and BEA stewardess outfit. Shock That dates it !
There's a brownie dress too. Amanda -Jane was in a pixieGrin
Can I bear to part with them?
Wink

Have planted 200 bulbs this morning in a half-assed attempt to invest in the garden. Mumsnet were on to me about b&q doing a photo shoot for their brochure or some such next week, but I have had to say no as its during the meet up . The lovely mumsnet lady (Angelie?)was v interested to hear about the Crepey meet.Grin

Stropperella · 13/09/2013 14:03

Amanda-Jane, that takes me back.. I had one but never liked her. She gave me the creeps. I seem to also remember her Brownie uniform.
Dh does the eBay stuff here, but it's all his guitar and speaker bits. I'm trying to encourage him to get rid of the mountains of stuff that has been sitting in the garage for years, but it's a glacially slow process. This means that instead of using his workbench in the garage, he does soldering etc on the dining room table. Grrrr.
Hattie, hope you get a couple of dry days at the w/e..

motherinferior · 13/09/2013 14:16

Inspired by the needs for shelves expressed on this thread I have just bitten the bullet and rang the local charity shop, found out they have a - doubtless hideous - bookshelf for £25 and reserved it.

Another day, another coat of pink paint...

bigTillyMint · 13/09/2013 14:22

Oooh, I had both Pippa and Sindy. And I had all the pass-me-down furniture for Sindy. And a horse and a pony. And a car. They lived in a 60's bookshelf in my room till I passed them onSmile

DD was never interested in dolls (had a few unplayed with Barbies!), though DS might have liked them at one stageGrin

motherinferior · 13/09/2013 14:29

We are still awash with Sylvania here. DD1 is very happy to play with them too.

Is it pathetic of me to be really quite excited that it's only a week till we all drink meet up?

bigTillyMint · 13/09/2013 14:35

Not pathetic at allSmile

QueenQueenie · 13/09/2013 14:58

I'm very excited! Cocktails, delicious food, cast iron pixie boots, oh and delightful, witty crepey company... can't wait.
