What do we think of this outfit of VB?

QueenCadbury · 10/09/2013 12:47

for you mig Wink

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 10/09/2013 12:48

Oh I'm very Envy at Novice's stateside shenanigans. It's 9 months since I was in the US and I'm in dire need of an American shopping spree. My parents will be back there next month, but I daren't ask them to collect my parcels for me - my DDad already thinks I'm an incurable shopaholic and besides, they won't be back in the UK until christmas.

Boob is improved, but still a bit stinging. I'm not rescuing bees any more - it died anyway after it stung me, so a pointless exercise all round.

I ordered the boxy striped jumper (was it Dry who linked?) from Mint Velvet and it is gorgeous. Much softer and fluffier than I expected and little black lurex bands separating the stripes. It will go very well with the leather skirt and some Wolford velvet de lux 66 tights, so Flowers for Dry. Also they sent me a mini catalogue in the parcel and I spotted this beauty (the catalogue pic showed it much better). Think I may have to buy it as consolation for the trauma of last night.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 10/09/2013 12:53

Oh, QueenC where do I start on that AC article...?

VB - not her best look. It looks like it belongs to Hattie Jacques.

foxysocks · 10/09/2013 12:54

I can't join in workwear chat these days, as mine is generally from lululemon Smile

those grey jalouse are the same ones I have, I absolutely love them

gald to hear the MNV jumper back out shop! I will wear mine again soon.

today: grey goldsigns, olive I&I cashmere over a dark grey tee, nude leather ash virgins. was considering blush/black star scarf but might be overkill, it's not THAT cold.

anni a coat is such a great choice for a present. it's my birthday in a few months too. i think my present is going to be my one major AW purchase and, since I now have the relatively bargainous F&B bikers and got a couple of coats last AW, will probably be a bag.

foxysocks · 10/09/2013 12:55

OMG - you got stung on the BOOB dry?!?!

foxysocks · 10/09/2013 12:56

I meant grumpy!

MarshaBrady · 10/09/2013 13:03

Novice I love the Tippi! Gorgeous. Your work wardrobe is absolutely divine. Great shopping.

Grumpy pleased you're ok, bad bee.

QueenC not keen on that one, although almost saved by the colour. Just so big. Love the other dresses. I wonder who designs them.. Someone low or high profile.

That house is divine. He bought it for £4.5m in the 80s!

Am in a cafe pre-meeting. Not bad at all.

MarshaBrady · 10/09/2013 13:05

I'm wearing the I&I jumper today, MiH, white shirt and navy Gryphon. Colors saved slightly by the Celine brightness.

Hi Foxy!

QueenCadbury · 10/09/2013 13:06

Oh, I hope you don't all think I like VBs dress. I think it looks bloody ridiculous Grin!

AmberNectarine · 10/09/2013 13:07

I like to feel the best I can in work clothes, so I don't mind spending on them. Some really inappropriate dressing here QueenC - one girl wore a racer back sundress with NRA straps clearly visible (and incongruously a scarf) the other day! She is not client facing but even so!

QueenCadbury · 10/09/2013 13:07

Sorry, grumpy forgot to mention your boob. Did your dh offer to kiss it better Wink

MarshaBrady · 10/09/2013 13:07

Ha Grin

mignonette · 10/09/2013 13:07

Queen At a W/R once we were all standing by the patients bed and the Medical consultant asked me if I was a student nurse. I replied in the affirmative and he turned to his little audience and said " I've always said, Why have a wank when you can have a nurse?"

To which i replied "You look like an accomplished Wanker yourself" . Only I made sure that only he and the juniors next to him heard my retort. He made sure the patient heard. I got admonished until i said I'd report him. Then they backed off.

YY to junior Dr's/STN's. They'd have thongs poking out (when it was fashionable) or they'd be too low cut especially when leaning over patients. I have suggested wearing less potent perfume too as it can be very nausea inducing when you feel ill.

I can't click on those links Queen as i have 'Tea and Kittens' come up whenever I click on the DM and I don't know how to disable it! Are there other sites w/ the links?

Doesn't Arizona look lovely here in her plaid coat? I like this look too for evening. it's not me, I'm not a sleek person but i greatly admire Women who can pull this off. This is more me. I have a skirt like this.

I have seen loads of old skool Country Casual 'older Shires lady' BlackWatch check midi skirts, pleated from the waist in a bell shape online in style blogs. You know the style, worn in the Countryside w/ a Husky bodywarmer, stout laced shoes. The Barbara Woodhouse/Queen county look. They look great w/ a toughed up T shirt/sweater (maybe textural), woolly tights or fishnets, brogues, Monkstraps or high heeled pointy stiletto's. I think hair style is key w/ this look- a messy pony, bun or messy loose.

MarshaBrady · 10/09/2013 13:08

That grin was at the VB dress not the boob.

mignonette · 10/09/2013 13:11

Foxy There's an article by Christa Da Souza in this months British Vogue on Yoga, the different 'tribes' and lessening of the underpinning philosophies.- "Has Yoga become all style and no spirituality?"

It was very interesting. Da Souza is a Bikram girl.

AmberNectarine · 10/09/2013 13:12

Well that Alexa Chung book looks a scintillating read!

mignonette · 10/09/2013 13:13

I didn't like VB's Wimbledon final dress- the LV lingerie inspired slip dress. i thought it looked very incongruous at a sporting event. I did love the long dark orange maxi skirts at VB's last Summer show. Gorgeous styled w/ white mannish shirts and sandals.

MarshaBrady · 10/09/2013 13:14

I like the looser look too Mig very nice.

MrsRadicchio · 10/09/2013 13:14

Eek at this quote by Alexa about her book:
'I wrote it because I was bored and wanted to create something alongside hosting television shows.'

mignonette · 10/09/2013 13:15

Amber Grin. i saw some preview pages of the AC 'book' sent to me by my ex BIL who works in publishing and thought I'd like a laugh. Loads of moody 'arty' photographs w/ accompanying 'text'.

Deeply symbolic and reflective of the depth of her life and career Wink

QueenCadbury · 10/09/2013 13:16

mig Shock Shock

Will a vogue link be ok?

mignonette · 10/09/2013 13:17

Yes Vogue would be fine. T'is just the DM. I set up 'Tea and Kittens' in the middle of a rage attack against the DM and now cannot get rid of it!

mignonette · 10/09/2013 13:18

"It is basically an image-heavy autobiography," she told us. "The only things lacking are chapters and gritty details" Alexa Chung

Sounds quite the Opus!

QueenCadbury · 10/09/2013 13:18

mig can you open a mirror link...?!
