Oooh Dry, I love that skirt the most. Pity I have semi given up on skirts because that's very lush!

One, good idea on the food diary too. Oh and buy yourself a padlock to keep your sis out of your stuff! Grin

Right, tomorrow, I have to check out Ann Taylor, J Crew and Banana Republic to see what's on there before I get to the US. Dh was doing his nut about the credit card bill again this month so can't really turn up on Friday morning with an armful of clothes!

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 23:08

Grumpy I was Sad about those, had high hopes....but they just didn't it my feet well , something funny going on on the sides. When I'm in London I might try a couple of sizes again because I do love them and they're perfect for work....perhaps because I have wide feet and they are a v narrow shoe?
And thanks for that idea.....I'll try the dress and animal pumps combo ( black opaques?)

Decameron · 06/09/2013 23:09

No Dry, keep the skirt, it's fab! Can you drink wine occasionally on the Dukan diet? I want to lose 5lb and thinking of doing it.

One, that dietician sounds appalling.

The same coat as you, I think, Liberty, this one. Also considering this Carven one as I can get 20% off so could get the chestnut pistols I like too. Decisions, decisions!

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 23:10

Novice when I'm feeling brave ill wear the red skirt and the pink jumper to work

OneLittleLady · 06/09/2013 23:12

Is the Dukan diet.....bad for you? is it a short term diet or can it be sustained long term? I'm not hopeful about the dietitian you see after my experience last time so want to research other avenues as I know it's not healthy for me to be the weight I am.

A padlock might be an idea novice I'm a bit fed up of wearing the same four or five dresses because my sisters got everything else! Of course, being the younger and apparently told by other people, prettier sister, everything looks better on her Hmm

libertychick · 06/09/2013 23:14

I absolutely love this scarf but at £470 it's never going to happen! Has anyone seen anything similiar for about one fifth of the price? Smile

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 23:14

Decameron at first you're not supposed to drink booze...I gave up for 2 months Shock. It's not for everyone. I love meat, fish, eggs and green stuff so I was fine. You also give up fruit for the beginning which I found tough. But basically you have a list of what you can and can't eat. It's idiot proof. But then after you have to watch your carbs. I loved it. A lot of people find the 5:2 easier. Really depends what you like eating.
If you decide to do it pm any time for tips.

OneLittleLady · 06/09/2013 23:16

New Look had something in that pattern and almost that colour when I was in there this afternoon liberty I think the print was a bit bigger though so it's definitely the kind of thing that's filtering downwards

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 23:16

One It's not bad for you I don't think, but, like any diet, if you want to maintain the weight loss you have to make some permanent lifestyle changes.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/09/2013 23:17

Slightly, and surprisingly, impressed by these

Decameron · 06/09/2013 23:17

Thanks, I can't do 5:2, I'm a fainter! Felt very shaky after four hours on it! Not big into carbs, I think I will give it a go.

OneLittleLady · 06/09/2013 23:18

I think a good change for me dry would be for me to actually eat! I'm terrible for just not bothering at all, I go for days without eating when left to my own devices but I have possibly got some therapy in the pipeline to deal with my attitude towards food so that could be a huge turning point Smile

libertychick · 06/09/2013 23:18

Great minds Decam Smile I was looking at the Carven one last night and thinking 'maybe' - is the 20% off a loyalty thing with my-wardrobe or a general offer? 20% off would make it very tempting....but then is the Burberry more of a classic?

I'm thinking about a trip to Biscester to see what they have in the Burberry shop there....

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/09/2013 23:20

Liberty, give it a few weeks and you'll be able to buy en exact copy from China for £11 like my LV scarf (which is 70% wool, 30% silk Shock) Bloody identical and found via google.

BrandyAlexander · 06/09/2013 23:20

Oh I love that Burberry coat. Envy. I can't even think of a reason to justify it. Not a single one. But, oh I do love it. Sigh.

libertychick · 06/09/2013 23:23

one you should definitely start eating! If you are constantly not eating enough your metabolism just completely slows down to cope and it's gets harder and harder to lose weight.

Grumpy those shoes are very nice IRL - have looked at them a few times but too high for me.

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 23:26

liberty just saw your shoe purchases on Pinterest...those pointy black patent Boden look interesting. How do they fit and how high s the heel?

One perhaps that's the problem ....if you don't eat for a day you'll either snack because you're starving, or your body will freak out and go into shut down and hold on to what it's got iykwim. One of the things that I loved about Dukan is, because you eat a lot of protein, you don't feel hungry, which I hate.
I always eat a good breakfast......protein based (eggs,lean bacon...) and I don't feel hungry....

libertychick · 06/09/2013 23:30

Good tip on the scarf Grumpy.

novice it would be hilarious if 3 of us bought the coat!!

libertychick · 06/09/2013 23:32

Dry I meant to delete those - I returned them. Probably the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever put on my feet - absolutely gorgeous, perfect low heel but I was weeping if I moved an inch in them. V v hard leather.

Drywhiteplease · 06/09/2013 23:36

Could it be the MNV coat?
Think Longchamps Le Pilage could be the MNV bag.
M and S snakeskin slipper flats the MNV shoe.

Off to get my zzzzz . See you tomorrow.

Annianni · 06/09/2013 23:49

I love that Carven coat Decam, I pinned it a while ago and keep looking at it.

The chef was Michelin starred when we stayed Grumpy, Dh had the same meal every day for the 3 days we were there :o
We'll definitely stay there again.

Annianni · 06/09/2013 23:50

Didn't someone want the Burberry coat with the pleated back?

Decameron · 06/09/2013 23:52

I am leaning towards it, Anni!

Have sent you a PM, Liberty.

Fedupnagging · 07/09/2013 06:31

It's ages since I posted but sort of managed to keep up with all your posts. There have been some fab links too numerous to mention but I did like Queens colour blocking pin which I will follow as soon as I find it again!

Not purchased much recently but getting my head around the new A/W clothes. I did buy some gorgeous flats in Portugal similar to these these

Am looking at boots atm which need to be super comfy for traipsing around NY in Oct. the list is narrowed down to my favourite, these and most comfortable. I think I'd like brown or tan boots for a change but would be wearing them with mostly black, navy, grey. I struggle with black and brown together but probably need to get over it Grin

Grumpy my dsis has the same worry with her dd 14yrs. All her friends v skinny. She is not fat but has a decent figure and does get teased sometimes (kids can be so cruel) so she then goes and comfort eats. Very little junk food is in the house but of course at 14 she can go out and buy crisps etc. I suspect my niece will grow into her figure iyswim. Try not to worry (difficult, I know) it sounds like you are doing the right things.

Think it's the MU today so have fun!

Mominatrix · 07/09/2013 06:51

Morning everyone!

"Marsha*: I'll tell you at MU or PM who FD is - don't want to out where her child is at school.

McNally: Managed another 6 miles yesterday. I took the summer off, and was anticipating it would be tough getting back to where I was. I'm just doing steady runs, no Fartlek yet but I know that is the only thing which will get me back to where I was. I tend to run indoors all winter long. Tedious, but better on my ankles and skin.

"One" : Ouch! I'd want to be asleep for that too. Hope the operation is successful, and you have a quick recovery.

needastrongone: love the sound of the limed oak and your kitchen. I am trying to avoid what you had to go through by keeping my milage less than 30 a week, and by cross training and doing quite a bit indoors. Hope the camping goes well - DS was camping last night on the school grounds for a bushcraft experience. Poor lad had to have it on the only school day which was cold and rainy.

novice: what a pain! Definitely submit an objection - it would buy you time to tell your house.

Amber - your surgery sounds horrific, and to have to go through it a second time! I'll PM you my tailor's details, as well as the one I have in town.

mig: hope you are feeling better. For thick tights, I like Falke or Wolford. Love those desert boots, and surprised that they are Clarks! How was the rainy bbq? Re Alexa Chung - she is famous for being "cool". I don't get her either, but she is beloved by the fashion industry. She and Diane Kruger are loved for wearing clothes like the mythical Parisienne, but not French. Sometimes I like how she wears clothes, sometimes I just don't get it.

sleep: how was date night? What did you end up seeing? Loads of movies I want to see, particularly the new Bill Nighy movie. I keep a list to reminind myself and catch everything on iTunes. Agree that going to see a movie is not what I think about for a date night with DH - if I am going to pay for a babysitter + travel, I want it to be for something special.

novice: so jealous of your NYC shop. The flying, not so much - I am a terrible flyer, and get a feeling of claustrophobia at flights longer than 8 hours. This is what made me move here as I was living and working in San Francisco and DH was in London. I just could not put up with the 11 hour flights anymore.

one - hmmm, 800- calorie diet to lose weight sounds undoable to me as what does this entail for maintenance? I would question any physician who would recommend this, and am surprised if anyone with a medical degree would do so. Do you weight train at all? Ah, I see it is not a doctor but a dietician. I would get a new dietician as professional who accuses a client of lying to them is very Hmm in my book.

drywhite: great purchases. What was wrong with the Russel and Bromley flats? I do like the look of them. LOL about wardrobe missing items - I'm like this. DH, who has the boring wardrobe, wonders aloud when I'm going to stop buying clothes. I tell him honestly - never, there is always something new to buy.

decam love the Carven coat. I took a quick peek and had to close the link quickly. I am banned from buying any new coats this season.

Is anyone on Instagram? I'm loving it right now, but am just starting out on it.

Am picking up a soggy DS in a couple hours. Hope he wasn't too wet yesterday, and actually got some sleep despite being in a large tent with a bunch of his mates. Have a nice Saturday everyone.
