Gorgeous nail color shop, I love the first Sam Edelman boots,

marsha I think it's better to wait.i agree big shortage of footwear style, not to mention the good ones are ££££.

linus the choos are gorgeous, how could you not buy them!

santamarianovella · 30/08/2013 22:38

liberty how did the shopping trip go? Hope it was a success,

libertychick · 30/08/2013 23:15

Was good Santa I am shattered though - full update tomorrow. We have a happy teenager in the house Smile

Mominatrix · 31/08/2013 06:09

Good morning, everyone! Ah, I see that the top has turned to shoes, one of my favourites. Marsha, I'd wait a couple weeks instead of buying a stop gap pair, which will always feel like a poor cousin to the other inhabitants of your shoe closet. If you truly need a stop gap pair, I'd go for something like a pair of converse, cheap, good looking, and a noble pair of shoes in it's own right.

I recently bough a couple pairs of shoes - these, which lloked cool, but ripped my feet apart on the first wear, and these, which I know I will live in this autumn. I had not heard of this company before, but I LOVE their shoes. they have a flat heeled version of this ankle boot which is much more known (is on Matches - these, how cool are they?), which is a nicer version of the Chloe Susannah at more than half the price. I bought these two shoes instead of a pair of Valentino Rockstud (was going to be a birthday present for me) as I just could not bring myself to buy a pair of shoes that every wannabe fashionista has, despite how cool they look. Hope I don't regret the decision!

Love the look of the Mysterieuse polish shop - I wish I could do my nails as nicely as you do!

Also love the nude Choos, Linus - who wouldn't? The good thing about them is that if you change your mind in a year or two and decide you really want them, they will still be there to purchase. A great staple and classic.

Hope you were able to find things for you sister Liberty. From the sound of it, your shopping trip was successful?

I took a bunch of things to the tailor yesterday to be mended/adjusted - looking forward to one thing in particular. I have a pair of gorgeous leather straight cut trousers which have not seen the light of day for more than 10 years - out of fashion, wrong cut, etc. However, the leather is just wonderful - they are Earl Jeans and purchased in their heyday. I decided to do something about it and are getting them cropped, bottom half narrowed, and zips put on the bottoms to be like the Isabel Marant leather cropped motos likethese without embellishments. hopefully, it will look ok - if not, it is just 20 pounds waisted instead of £xxxx. Will keep you updated!

Hope everyone had a lovely yesterday in the sun, particularly those shoppers and lunchers (jealous!), and nice Saturday.

AmberNectarine · 31/08/2013 07:21

Mominatrix, where are you getting your leather trousers altered? I have a lovely Freda pair from matches that are slightly too big now.

MarshaBrady · 31/08/2013 07:28

Momin, Santa I know it's bizarre how little there seems to be. And it's still warm this week! Which is lovely, but £100 odd is still a lot and a pity if not right.

Love your links too, the new boots are gorgeous. I think you made the right decision to get them.

Liberty glad the shopping trip was good. Sorry I didn't quite make it to your thread, I meant to and got distracted!

Now I'm really interested to see what you're all wearing for boots/shoes this a/w.

Mominatrix · 31/08/2013 07:44

Hello Amber. I have a local tailor to me who is fantastic (and cheap!). She's done loads of work for me and is a miracle worker.

Umlauf · 31/08/2013 08:20

Good morning. Mom I love all your links but especially the first boots, that colour is one of my favourites and quite unusual in footwear! I need to find a tailor as my body shape (big of nork, small of waist, big of hip, small of thigh) does not fit in with the Spanish aesthetic.

On the topic of footwear, Brandalley has a few good bits, during a bout of pregnancy insomnia last night I bought the Ash Spirals in camel as they were reduced to about 60pounds, I genuinely didn't remember buying them this morning so the confirmation email was a shock! No delivery to Spain so will have to wait until Christmas to get my hands on them, grr. Very stupid of me though as my feet won't fit into anything at the moment apart from flip flops. Please tell me they will go back down, my shoes are the one thing I couldn't bear to lose to motherhood!

They have the Ash Nevada stud ones for 89 on there which I really like (but too jazzy for me) and the Heidi wedge in Moss Green which are gorgeous, and some sam edelman suede ones down to 75. I don't know if any of those links will work though as you might have to be logged in to the site!

Off to ikea today to furnish the nursery and pick up the obligtory socktopus.

LinusDKD · 31/08/2013 08:41

Morning!

santa mominatrix I really wish I had bought those heels but after buying the nano and really needing some ankle boots I couldn't afford to buy the Choos as well.

liberty sorry I didn't make it to your thread but I doubt my B cups would have been of any use. Glad the shopping was successful!

umlauf well done on the spirals!

MrsRadicchio · 31/08/2013 08:57

Morning!

Am on the bus heading to colours appt. Will fill you in later! feels quite illicit being off out so early without dc.

Ooh, really want some spirals, though have told dh am on a shopping ban until Oct so should really stick to it.

Good purchase though umlauf

A word of warning though - I bought quite a bit of non pregnancy stuff when pregnant and ended up getting rid of most of it as it just didn't fit right.

Think shoes are less of an issue though pre dc my feet were 5/6 and now are 6/7.

Marsha can't believe those whistles flats are kaput - you bought them quite recently iirc? I was jealous as really liked them. Have you looked at Jemima vine (on phone so no links) not cheap but really lovely and modern looking.

Love the Sam Edelman boots. Can't see you in boden but they have a v similar pair!!

MrsRadicchio · 31/08/2013 09:08

Meant to add re colours, dh said "I think she'll tell you that you don't suit bright colours" !

I'm confused about the jimmies - thought they were jeans but they look grey with a black stripe in your pic linus

MarshaBrady · 31/08/2013 09:14

How exciting MrsR! Have fun, can't wait to hear the result. Your dh will be happy if he is right Grin.

I know on the snakeskin flats it's embarrassing how quickly I ruin shoes. Thankfully I only paid £25 not £95, so cpw was ok!

Today I am scouting my a/w wardrobe excited. Am doing Burberry and Liberty again. On hunt for coat and shoes. Can't buy yet, but soon.

Am checking out Decam's future Burberry coat too. Looks nice! Won't link in case sells out.

shopafrolic · 31/08/2013 09:38

Have fun Marsha and MrsR - can't wait to hear you colours result
Mom lovely links - I wish I'd kept my leather trousers now - I had a pair in the late nineties - not sure where they ended up to be honest - they'd have made a great pair of skinnies SIGH
Umlauf great price on the Spirals - mine get a lot of wear
Liberty glad the shopping was a success - look forward to hearing more.

Umlauf good one on the spirals. Great price.

foxysocks · 31/08/2013 09:41

i love the j vine flats. get some of those, marsha!

I have all my AW footwear already. there will be no more purchases till 2014, I have promised DH after the recent outnet purchase.

boots: F&B bikers, some flat suede slouchy boots (from brora a few years ago, v similar to marant jenny), tan studded ankle boots (shopbop sales last year) and the dark grey ash jalouse (£60 in a random boutique sale)

shoes: boden pointy leopard flats, DvF yellow flats, black ballerinas (these could do with an upgrade actually, they are beyond knackered)

foxysocks · 31/08/2013 09:43

oh and my beloved trainers: grey vejas, clay and tan ash virgins, converse. i really love trainers #90sgirl

shopafrolic · 31/08/2013 10:07

Wooooooop!
The Vince black sweater came back into stock in a medium on the Outnet. It might be too small but I have to scratch the itch. If it does fit DH will get it me for my birthday in Nov. Fingers crossed........
not sure if the neck is too snug?

MarshaBrady · 31/08/2013 10:11

Foxy that's a great list. I need to up my numbers. They'd last longer too if I did. Wonder if there's a JV stockist in town, will look.

Well done Shop! Hope you love it, Vince is fabulous for sweaters.

foxysocks · 31/08/2013 10:56

great news shop!

yes I rotate regularly and always get dressed 'from the ground up' - depending on weather.

santamarianovella · 31/08/2013 10:58

mrsR tell us how it goes!

liberty that's great, teenagers are hard to please sometimes!

mom, great links,I've been lusting after the Valentino rock stud heels for a while now,and hope I can finally buy them, since I don't have any huge purchases for this winter.

amber most good dry cleaners offer alterations services,or you could take them to matches.

shop that's a gorgeous sweater.

foxy good list,

marsha, good luck, and report to us,I ruin my shoes quickly too,my lanvin flats are not looking that greatSad, surprisingly the macqueen skull flats look great, though I have worn them a lot ,

umlauf your pregnancy purchase made meGrin I remember buying a pair of zanotti high heels from NaP sales at 36 wks!,couldn't even get my toes in them! Really swollen feet at that stage, they were the first thing I tried after coming home from hospital!

Turquoiseblue · 31/08/2013 11:07

Marsha what about brogues as an interim? Sturdier than ballerinas for autumnal weather.. They dont seem to have had their day yet, I fear ballerina s may....

I ve been in denial - I detest shoe/ boot/ footwear shopping for me.. I ve been putting it off... Now I m down to one pair of black ankle boots and autumn is swiftly approaching - my lovely OTK black which were a real investment have simply had their day. i really dont want to have to shop for footwear, i detest it.

I want these but am hesitant about the colour Theyr e impractical really. I just want to buy one pair of somethings that will do for everything and get back to buying lovely things like clothes ... Will be heading to town today after i get some work done

Love the nail links feeling autumnal i ve this on at the moment as I m tired off pinks/ blues/ reds and oranges I ve been wearing for the summer, Love the emerald green link.

foxysocks · 31/08/2013 11:12

oh I forgot I have those OTK miu miu boots too. they are a bit high but maybe i'll wear them for dinner out with DH or something once it gets colder.

MarshaBrady · 31/08/2013 12:03

Live shopping Grin

H by Hudson

Or

Sam Edelman in black or beige?

For park and school run. Will also have pistols or knee high but these are so I can take better care of other ones and not wear them every day.

Also think the Sam E might be better with skirts/shorts?

MarshaBrady · 31/08/2013 12:17

Got the Sam Edelman in putty. Shoes for autumn without holes. Woop!

MrsRadicchio · 31/08/2013 12:46

Definitely prefer the edelmans marsha - good purchase!

Am a sultry winter, pleased as love the colours and get to keep black. Bought a few bright lipsticks, bit of a step change for me but will give it a go.

Going to cull wardrobe now!
