Aww, how adorable turquoise I'd have eaten it too, i bet he'd have been so disappointed if you'd turned it down Smile

santamarianovella · 18/08/2013 22:54

shop hope your ds is better today,we can't show our true feelings on such occasions, crying is the only thing to do Flowers.

mig how awful it must have been, hope it didn't ruin your day,

foxy the boots are very nice, good investment, and they are very good makers of boots, can see them lasting years to come, last winter I exclusively wore my two pair of biker boots, the give that extra tough element to dull winter clothing, love them!

marsha love the sound of luxe grunge,we will call it marsha grunge.

linus I'm sure your dd,will find it much easier going with her brother.

Oh mig Being the foodie that you are, thought about you this evening. we had dinner at moulin de mougins ,gorgeous restaurant with the most amazing outdoor setting, the garden itself made me forget they tiresome day I spent with 4 super energetic kids! the best part of the meal was the dessert ,beautiful arrangements of sorbet : basil, lemon and watermelon, topped with thin layers of shortbread! yuuuuumy! i wore my velvet cream crochet dress, with gucci metallic heels,as the weather is really hot today, lovely evening,

And I got sunburned today! Just a tiny bit on my nose, can olive skin get sunburned? Never happened before!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 18/08/2013 22:59

That's pretty Liberty. Saw a dress in You mag today that's a short-sleeved version of a tweed/leather/cream DKNY number, except this one was £17 from Primark! Unfortunately not in stores until Nov, but I will definitely be there. November's looking interesting - lest we forget, the H&M/Marant collab...

Another devotee of flannel here. Every autumn, out comes the plaid. I've started to convert DD too - most of her new AW stuff is tartan this year.

OneLittleLady · 18/08/2013 22:59

That sounds disgustingly glamorous santa Envy Sometimes I wish my life had a little more glamour but if it did, I'd probably panic and lock myself in the bedroom Grin

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 18/08/2013 23:01

X post with santa. Your evening, and outfit, sound v lovely.

Turquoiseblue · 18/08/2013 23:08

Ok so I have to admit to in the past having a coat snob, however budgets time changes. I fell in love with this coat yesterday. I think i ll pick it up next week as it will be somethig i ll definately get a few wears from and love the colour. It s nicer in reality than the pic. This too made me think I must have a mustard coloured coat this year
But this is my coat lust I think here and this dress is probably going on my wish list too.

OneLittleLady · 18/08/2013 23:17

I like the red Zara coat turquoise I'd love to be able to wear something like that but I need a defined waist otherwise I get lost in the coat and all you see is hips. I have a black melton coat that should see me through another winter but I'd love something in a deep purple, I've long lusted after a purple coat but it never seems to be the colour for coats

AmberNectarine · 19/08/2013 07:48

What is this mini-MU of which you speak, and why was I not invited? Wink

QueenCadbury · 19/08/2013 08:07

turquoise I haven't been able to try the jumpsuit yet as no where in bristol sells it. Once the kids go back to school I will check out Harvey nicks but it's not on their website. Tbh I'm holding out hope for a cheaper high st version! How gorgeous of your ds to make breakfast. My dc would never be so considerate Grin

mig hope you're ok. Sounds very traumatic for you.

foxy great boots. Have fun at the zoo!

Had better go and get ready to go rock pooling. Catch up later.

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 08:44

Santa your meal and outfit sound fabulous and yes - dark skin can burn too - be careful
Gorgeous coats Turquoise - breakfast in bed sounds fab - roll on those days!
Wearing my grey pug tee today, with cherry red A&W chinos and snakeskin flats. Although the sun is shining it's starting to feel like Autumn. I don't want the summer to end but I do love crisp Autumn days!

Liberty good find! Did you get it? I'm not sure on the polyester. But that's a small thing.

Santa sounds really gorgeous.

Foxy are your boots arriving today?

Amber you're welcome to join us.

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 08:56

Turquoise love those coats.

Shop fab outfit.

mignonette · 19/08/2013 09:56

Hello all.

Lovely to read of your little boys breakfast for you both Topaz. Such is the stuff of memories that'll last forever. I used to make my Grandparents cups of tea with hot water out of the tap. They drank every drop.

Santa .

That meal sounded lovely as did your outfit.

Foxy Great boots and they will repay you over the years.

Turq Ochre yellow is one of my favourite colours. I left my adored ochre cardigan in Germany draped on the headrest of my Brother's FIlLs car. Damned if I know if I'll be seeing that for a while.

One I will keep looking for that purple coat for you. Monsoon and Laura Ashley are quite likely sources for berry coloured coats I think.

Grumpy I loved these Jaeger Boutique pants that I saw in that same article. The New Look loafers looked good too but wonder whether they'd pass muster close up. I have had excellent shoes from that store though- their fabric espadrilles lasted the whole of last summer and half of this one before expiring.

I never really stopped doing grunge TBH Smile. I have some old Dries Plaid dresses and and a skirt plus countless LL Bean tartan and plaid shirts belonging to DH that I could wear as jackets. I think the trick is layering-Daria Werbowy in this months Vogue (UK)pretty much depicts what I am trying to describe. She wears plaid with khaki army jackets or a thin leather bomber over layered vests, pants and thin sweaters. The fabrics are higher end, the look luxe utility. And layers need to be thin I think. No padded, wodgy silhouettes. The coats this season are voluminous but what lies beneath needs to be more streamlined.

I did a bank On call last night staying overnight in the city and had no shouts so slept all night and now have the morning off. I have D/Vs all afternoon and DH staying in the city with me tonight so we can go out. I'd love a dirty burger but he is pescetarian and although has no problem with me being a carnivore, would starve if I took him there. Am thinking of going to Gelupo for ice creams. Has anybody got a better recommendation? Think we may go for to Royal China for a pig out first. So any gelaterias in that vicinity would be great but prepared to travel walk off the main course for great ice cream.

Had a bad afternoon somewhat after seeing that wanker (apologies for language). One of the downsides of living in the trust region I used to be employed in is seeing some of the people who caused me such trauma. Knowing they were removed from patient care helps but I still struggle (after 10 years) to cope with the memories and the choking feeling that rises up in my throat when I think of it. I shook it off though, DH is great at helping me especially as I was actually shaking with anger when I got to the car. Thanks for all your lovely reassurances. If I had found a marrow, Shop the temptation to ram it up somewhere or down his somewhere might have gotten the better of me. I tell you all how dysfunctional my former trust workplace was- some male colleagues of this manager once broke into his office and peed on his office chair. He blamed it on a patient Sad...It hasn't changed much apparently.

stalked123 · 19/08/2013 10:41

Well my trip into Selfridges was both bad and good. Bad in that the Chloe Paraty wouldn't fit my laptop so the work bag search continues but good in that I came away with a de manta McQueen clutch.

Turquoise- love the red coat. I don't think I could pull that colour off but I wish I could!

mignonette · 19/08/2013 11:04

Is This your clutch, Stalking? I like that very much. The shape and the print.

Topazandpearl · 19/08/2013 11:20

M&S have 20% off online today. For all lovers of the snakeskin flats, I have (broken spending ban) to order leopard flats and black and white flats.

It was Turq who got breakfast in bed, sadly not me!!!

Mig I had a bad experience at work many years ago, I don't know how I would react if I met the person responsible. Glad to hear you had a good night and enjoy your night out tonight.

OneLittleLady · 19/08/2013 11:23

How is M&S shoe sizing normally? I'm actually between sizes (4 1/2 if i had shoes that fit right!) and sometimes a four will fit me if the width is generous. I often wear fours in New Looks wide fitting but have to have a five in standard fitting

mignonette · 19/08/2013 11:25

Sorry Turq. Sorry Topaz

i find M&S fairly generous with shoes One.

OneLittleLady · 19/08/2013 11:29

Hmm, I may get away with a four then. it's a PITA being between sizes, I have to have heels with straps otherwise they fall off my feet but the size down would be too small and cut off my circulation!

I may have found a tulle skirt, it's on ebay and I believe comes from China but it's the closest I've found to what I want so far HERE

mignonette · 19/08/2013 11:36

Oh wow One. You'll definitely be a girl with a twirl in that. It is so pretty. What colour?

OneLittleLady · 19/08/2013 11:39

I was thinking one in black and one in green because they are so cheap. I think they are going to look fab with my velvet DM's and something fitted on top. I think the black one could take coloured tights as well which gives it a lot more scope in my wardrobe. It's just a shame they don't do a burgundy one

mignonette · 19/08/2013 11:47

Yes go with coloured tights for A/W. I think American Apparel do burgundy ones. They have single and double layered tulle skirts.

OneLittleLady · 19/08/2013 11:49

Will check out American Apparel. I can live without a burgundy one, I just really fancied one!

McNally · 19/08/2013 12:33

Love that expression "girl with a twirl" mig!
