GNRRRRRRGH! I have just typed out a MAHOOSIVE post and my internet connection went down, taking my post with it. I can assure you it was fascinating, witty, helpful etc.

I do not have the mental energy to write it out again. Your lives are all the poorer for it and I apologise Wink

My sartorial thoughts are fully geared towards A/W now. I've bought this skirt. I know, I know, it's faux but I love the colour and the (black) real leather one I also tried didn't look/feel any different, plus, I'm tight CPW would probably be pretty poor at real leather price. Anyway, it looks great with a black and white patterned cami and white stiletto slinkbacks.

Seriously, it does!

Also considering ordering these boots. I thought they would fill the autumn shoe gap. They are low at the top allowing me to show a bit of ankle or nice sock.

santamarianovella · 06/08/2013 17:23

Hi switz, so sorry to hear about your sil,
the Ricky is similar to the celine bag I have,ie no straps,I only where it on park and play groups free days,I have seen the bag,and it comes In different leathers,if the one you have is pebbled leather, then it's more durable to stains and scratches.
and getting a liner for the bag, with pockets is a good idea.

mignonette · 06/08/2013 17:24

Paris The joy has been sucked out of life as I type. It is like a little light went out in the World when your post when 'phut'.

That is a blooming foxy skirt! Love it.

mignonette · 06/08/2013 17:27

I have just ordered a JML Pedi pro luxe to help get rid of the hooves growing on my foot. Has anybody got one of these?

santamarianovella · 06/08/2013 17:28

Ooh paris the color is gorgeous, I don't want to spend a lot of money on leather skirt either, as I seriously doubt I will wear it that much.

Switz · 06/08/2013 17:36

Thanks mignonette and Santa. It is the tan bag (not pebbled)and despite not being 2 years old is quite scuffed up already as SIL went downhill v quickly and wasn't able to take great care of it. Will follow your suggestions though as I know SIL would approve. Have a feeling I will be getting her 2.55 for Christmas and heaven knows when that will see the light of day!

OneLittleLady · 06/08/2013 17:41

switz just use it and love it, it sounds very much like that's what your SIL would have wanted. I'm sorry for your loss but I hope you can take some comfort from the fact that she obviously thought highly of you

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 06/08/2013 17:51

Switz Sorry for your loss. The bag is lovely

shopafrolic · 06/08/2013 18:08

Switz Collonil is your friend. Spray liberally and regularly, but wipe it off any hardware. I agree with Mig in terms of care, particulalry if it does get wet. My only other tip - no milk / water / juice bottles. They do leak and it's simply not worth the risk. TBH I have a change bag for drinks / food / nappies wipes and then carry a smaller bag for me. I only use my Mulberry Bayswater at times when I don't have DS in tow so lunch with the girls etc......
Sorry for your loss - your SIL sounds like a super stylish lady, and what a generous gift.
We've been out all day at the seaside again today - Leigh on Sea again - I'll be an Essex girl soon. Noticed all the guys had very stylish hats - lots of great trilbies on show. I've caught the sun and had a crab salad for lunch - happy times.
Will catch up and be back later.

Drywhiteplease · 06/08/2013 18:27

Hello all and welcome Switz..... So sorry about your loss and what a lovely way to remember your SIL though.
You will need a little stool to put it on when you go out Wink

Have had a funny day.....morning spent looking at doors and handles more exciting than it sounds, there's a lot to handles you know for this, and reinstating order to my house and fumigating DS room while he's away I wore bf Gap shorts and breton top.
Hair dressers this afternoon........in an effort not to wear my blue denim jeans AGAIN I wore burgundy skinnies, blush fine cotton fitted longline v neck sweater, gold Gigis and scarf, Nancy. Gold and burgundy looks lovely.
This evening I've been dip dyeing DD's blonde hair pink!!! Shock what would my mother say?!! not permanent, looks fab wore scruffy black stuff and Cath Kidston apron. Despite wearing gloves I now have pink thumbsHmm

Drywhiteplease · 06/08/2013 18:28

Shop what is Collonil and where do you get it? I guess I ought to look after my bags too

LinusDKD · 06/08/2013 18:29

switz what a lovely and thoughtful present to remember your SIL by.

I have a toddler and a baby and I do tend to use my nice bags everyday, but I find that crossbody ones are easier as you have both hands free to wipe mouths snd hands, feed DC and push a shopping trolley whilst keeping an eye on DS and DD.

paris I love that skirt. Tempted to order it myself.

mig I recently bought the Scholl pedi something and I am very impressed. Which reminds me to use it again as my feet are a disgrace.

I saw some lovely Prada biker boots today (can't find a link) and I also saw the Choos again. I am going shopping with DM on Saturday so I might try them on. I'm still on a shopping ban after my bag extravaganza but it'll give me an idea whether they suit me or not.

I had to walk away today from a pair of half price nude J. Choo heels. Perfect nude for me, perfect heel but I can't buy them. So frustrating.

It's a shame to hear that T. Ford has made some unkind remarks about women, it does make him a lot less attractive.

Oh, and I forgot who mentioned M.Freeman but I went right off him when I heard he got a bit too close to his step-granddaughter. Yuk!

Switz · 06/08/2013 18:30

Thanks all, is amazing how emotional one can be over a bag!
Colonial ordered from Amazon, thanks shops frolic.

LinusDKD · 06/08/2013 18:31

Oh and I had my hair cut today! I don't look like N.Vodianova nor S. Coppola but I look a lot better than before.

The real test will be to see if I can style it myself because everyone looks better straight after a cut and blowdry.

Switz · 06/08/2013 18:36

I mean Collonil!

BrandyAlexander · 06/08/2013 18:40

Hello SwitzSmile sorry for your loss. I have young kids (2 and 4) and tbh I don't use my most expensive bags when I am with them. I have only just stopped hauling everything around in my changing bag (Mia by il tutti) and tend to use my mulberry mitzy hobo or Aspinal biker bag on the weekends as they are less expensive (dont mind carrying crayons and snacks in them) and roomier!

Sorry about your hols Grumpy. Glad you had a haul waiting to cheer you up.Smile

McNally · 06/08/2013 18:42

What a lovely bag Switz. Sorry to hear of your loss. What a lovely gift to remember her everyday. I'd use it day to day but only those days where you can put it down somewhere safe and clean. Not park days certainly! I'd keep it for your things and have a separate tote or similar for baby paraphernalia that you can keep under the buggy.

McNally · 06/08/2013 18:44

Grumpy, sorry about your holiday. What a pain. Nice treat to come home to though! Have that Boden jumper in the pink. It is lovely but the pink is not quite right for me so going back. I should have got yours!

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 06/08/2013 19:01

Linus I never look better after a hairdresser has done my hair

When I do my hair it looks a lot like this

When any hairdresser ever does my hair it looks like This

Nothing wrong with the style but it does not suit me at all!

Drywhiteplease · 06/08/2013 19:02

Welcome back Grumpy, what a shame about your holiday

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 06/08/2013 19:05

Don't go on holiday again Grumpy, stay with us Grin

shopafrolic · 06/08/2013 19:09

Collonil you can buy it on Amazon - tip originally from Amber

shopafrolic · 06/08/2013 19:14

Gillybobs sorry for the delayed response, I was hanging my head in shame. Thanks for the tip - I may have to invest.....

shopafrolic · 06/08/2013 19:18

Grumpy welcome back, sorry to hear about holiday. It doesn't inspire me with confidence for Norfolk with the inlaws and my stressful DH next week Grin

shopafrolic · 06/08/2013 19:22

Dry I love dressing up for the hairdresser - nice outfit
