Oh no no - don't worry, I don't feel like I was being judged (although, would I be if I blogged a £1K handbag purchase?? Grin). Really, its fine. And blogging IS public, so, you know, I do put myself out there. It was a totally respectful discussion, just asking questions and offering opinions.

Even after everything you have said, I still do think I am an apple (but I might be wrong) and I really do have to be very careful with what I wear. I wish I could just throw on something long and floaty or wear lots of tight white tops, but I can't. And every single pound does show.

shopafrolic · 05/08/2013 22:18

I'm squirming now!!!! I never said Belinda didn't look lovely, just that she didn't look like an Apple shape. I'm a nice person I promise!

MarshaBrady · 05/08/2013 22:20

Oh Shop don't squirm, you are lovely!

shopafrolic · 05/08/2013 22:20

My days of wearing tight tops have gone now too Belinda I have post DS overhang. I've tried several websites to see if I can figure out what body shape I am (even out my measurements on here!) - I'm still none the wiser. Apparently I'm a Vase Confused

BelindaWornOut · 05/08/2013 22:21

Oh God, sorry, no, I wasn't addressing my post to anyone in particular: just saying that even after all the comments from all Voguers, I still think I am an apple due to my torso being large in structure AND attracting the weight gain. You know, like a pigeon. I have a fairly robust ego, so really you should just say what you think, and don't feel bad.

QueenCadbury · 05/08/2013 22:23

Hopefully anni and I have killed the bag thread by discussing Percy pig Grin

belinda I'll have to start following you more carefully as it sounds like we may have similar middles!

OP posts:
libertychick · 05/08/2013 22:24

Oh my - all the lovely man links!! Bradley Cooper yum! and a few bags thrown in for good measure!! If it wasn't a fast day I'd have a glass of wine and it would count as a perfect evening! Smile

since you are here can I just say how much I enjoy your blog posts - I get lots of style inspiration from you and I am deeply Envy of your great legs!

I have given in and read the handbag thread - now I just want a new bag! - do you think (in the vein of the programme Shop has watched) that the anti-expensive handbag people are in fact secret mulberry, Chloe and LV agents with a mission to make us think about bags and then covet new ones?????

shopafrolic · 05/08/2013 22:25

Oh and Belinda I think it was you who mentioned Maybelline nail varnish? You've saved me £50 p.m. on manicures Thanks
Grovelling over - off to see how you guys managed to shoehorn Percy Pig into the bag thread.....

libertychick · 05/08/2013 22:26

PMSL at Marsha offering to ditch DH for John Hamm....

BrandyAlexander · 05/08/2013 22:27

Evening all! Gah, just saw red again on the bag thread. Don't worry Amber, I can see why you did it, I got angry too.Angry I hope your dd is better.

Hello BelindaGrinGrin Shop is lovely and probably royally mortified now!

MarshaBrady · 05/08/2013 22:33

It's been fun I agree. Grin Laughing at this and the posh scruff thread, also enjoyed classics one. Dh is wondering why I have been laughing, obviously didn't see Hamm comment. I better take it back. as not going to happen

Novice and Amber I hope you don't feel bad. I've met you and obviously you're both much more than a £1k bag! Lovely, kind and not elite.

Also on the TDWP note, people buying the real thing helps people all down the line to shops who can reproduce quickly and cheaply. Everyone's happy.

Drywhiteplease · 05/08/2013 22:34

MNV...put down your arms, about turn, fall back.......we need to retreat from the nasty bag thread and concentrate on the v important matters at hand

  1. Who is the best dressed man in Hollywood?
  2. Is the lovely Belinda an apple?
  3. What new bags do we all fancy as a result of the nasty bag thread
  4. How can we persuade QC to buy more shoes?
shopafrolic · 05/08/2013 22:34

Can any of you help out on this thread about I&I cashmere? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/1820157-Iris-and-ink-cashmere

BelindaWornOut · 05/08/2013 22:35

No no no, you have all been really kind so I hope no one is feeling mortified (especially you, Shop - there's no need). Thanks for all the lovely comments, its very sweet. I genuinely do hope you don't feel embarrassed or anything. Maybe I should feel embarrassed that I can't just keep a lid on myself? Grin

Anyway, have lovely evenings, and if you do see tops that flatter those of us who have overhangs, twin skin (me) and all sorts of other post DC stomach issues, please do link - I will keep an eye out.

Wine and Thanks to you all!

shopafrolic · 05/08/2013 22:37
  1. Bradley
  2. I'm saying hourglass but WTF do I know?
  3. I've seen the error of my ways and am going to donate all my money to charity and carry a Tesco bag from now on - NOT
  4. Link, link, link
shopafrolic · 05/08/2013 22:42

I'm off to bed - I feel I've done enough damage today - and I didn't even go near the bag thread!

Drywhiteplease · 05/08/2013 22:46

Shop you didn't and Belinda is not offended.
I've only got 100 pages of "Girl Gone" left and haven't even picked it up yet tonight....I need to find out how it's going to end!!!!!!

QueenCadbury · 05/08/2013 22:56

Shhhh dry do not mention anything more about that book. I joined a book club the other week and that's our first book. I thought it would make me spend less time on MN but I haven't even started it Grin.

belinda I now feel like a stalker as I've been through loads of your previous posts Grin. I think we are similar although my legs are much shorter! We also go for the same blouse type tops. Please can you buy/try on some dresses in the winter...?

In answer to dry questions...

  1. I'll think about it
2.possibly...
  1. I still covet a 2.55 and if I won the lottery I would buy one before donating anything to charity Blush Grin
4.link to practical ones that are suitable for the school run. I think one if the reason I don't like spending money on nice ones is because I never have the opportunity to wear them whereas a handbag can always be used.

QueenCadbury · 05/08/2013 23:00

Can I add colin into the mix?

OP posts:
mignonette · 05/08/2013 23:08

I am going to buy this bag here. It is only £261,000 and if I want to spend my hard earner overdraft cash on it then I will Wink.

Belinda By strong shoulders I hope you realise I was referring to your proportions being balanced. You have lovely defined shoulders. I do hope I haven't made you feel bad...

Gillybobs · 05/08/2013 23:22

Evening ladies, popping in momentarily to say to Shop I totally feel your pain with regard to figuring out body shape. After lurking on the old W&A threads I read that Blossoming had been for the House of Colour style day and recommended it and lo and behold one of the main focuses of the day is body shape, figuring out your proportions and really getting your head around why certain styles/necklines/skirt shapes etc work and others are disastrous. As someone who shops a LOT I found it a revelation. You just need to get past their hideous website and take a leap of faith.
Anyways, hope that's helpful.I'm sure Hopefully could fill you in further.

Evening all.

Drywhiteplease · 05/08/2013 23:24

QueenC nooo not Colin......now you've really gone and done it......I LURVE HIM......I really actually do and I know it's a cliche I even had a calendar once. Bloody breeches............

McNally · 05/08/2013 23:25

You all appear to be missing Jake Gyllenhaal. More for me I s'pose.

Ooh, Dry enjoy the end of Gone Girl. I think I read the second half in one go.

Drywhiteplease · 05/08/2013 23:26

Mignonette step back from the nasty bag thread....PLEASE! Over £1k and crocodile skin, it's a double whammy and MN suicide.......don't, please don't on there higgs will go mental!

BrandyAlexander · 05/08/2013 23:27

Lets be clear ladies. Colin Firth is miiiiiiine. All miiiiiiine! Sigh. Late night thoughts of Colin. Sigh again.
