Glad DD is ok amber

It's been raining most of the day here so it's been skinnies and a mac for me. My hair, which is usually poker straight without any form of styling has suddenly become ultra frizzy and all I can think is that it's the heat Hmm

shopafrolic · 05/08/2013 19:32

God McNally I'm the same - if I added up skincare and make up products since the age of 18 I could probably buy a car!
Amber that must have been v worrying, I'm glad all went well.
DH being a miserable git today. He says it's because he's started to relax. I'd rather he did it elsewhere Grin
On the spending money on certain things - I just go with what I love. I saved all my pennies years back for a pair of Gucci shoes, they were trashed after about 3 nights out clubbing! But I loved them. I don't spend as much on shoes nowadays, if I had extra cash I'd probably rather spend it on jewellery and handbags as I think they last longer (mainly because they aren't being trodden into the ground daily). I have spent lots on a couple of classic coats that I know won't go out of fashion. Don't think it matters though. I totally got what Amber was saying about these things in the workplace though. I used to work in the corporate incentives industry, status items (bags for women and bespoke suits for men) were frequently given to high performing staff if they hit their targets, with other companies offering club trips abroad. My role was to find out what individuals within each organisation aspired to and then set up schemes where they stood a chance of winning if they worked hard.....

Glad your DD is ok amber! It is horrible when little ones have to go to hospital.

dry I hate driving on the motorway too! Especially getting on and off the motorway.

mig I like a lot of those coats you linked to for one but I would not buy from La Redoute. Every time I've been tempted by their lovely pictures I have been dissapointed by the quality.

sleep those Zadig boots are lovely.

Tomorrow I am going for a much needed haircut and I have pinned two styles I like and which I have deluded myself into thinking think might suit me.

One is Natalia Vodianova (my twin sister Wink) and the other is Sofia Coppola. I will probably end up looking like Vicky Pollard, but my hair is driving me mad so chop, chop, chop it is.

QueenCadbury · 05/08/2013 20:16

Has anyone seen smurfs 2? I loved Grace's outfits especially this one. Very simple Breton, jeans, wedges and jacket.

shopafrolic · 05/08/2013 20:23

Did anyone see Bradley Coopers outfit in Style mag p. 18 this Sunday? I'm going to try to style Bertie Wooster (DH) like this for autumn, think he'd look great not exactly like Brad, but still love him

Drywhiteplease · 05/08/2013 20:37

LinusDKD · 05/08/2013 20:50

dry I have the red breton but I don't have the leather jacket!

Actually, apart from accessories I have nothing in leather. I am tempted to buy a leather skirt for A/W though.

paris pinned this one by Tibi and I have fallen in love with it, but it seems like it's OOS (and ££££)

Bradley Cooper has such tiny, blue and mischievous eyes! It would be interesting to, ahem, have a little chat with him.

Sorry novice for mentioning your charity on the bag thread - I was just so angry at the implication that we are all selfish, grabby bitches. Can delete the post if you want, just let me know.

shopafrolic · 05/08/2013 21:29

It's such an awful thread Amber so many assumptions!!!

QueenCadbury · 05/08/2013 21:31

Oh, I think I may be in love with Ryan Reynolds. He's got that cheeky look about him which I adore...

OP posts:
LinusDKD · 05/08/2013 21:31

Bradley Cooper, yes!
Ryan Reynolds, yes! (I like a man who makes me laugh)

Oh and yes to Tom Ford, I love those small squinty eyes. (I do realise he's gay)

Oh and George Clooney, why did you go and mess with the thing that made you sexy (crooked smile)? Why???

Drywhiteplease · 05/08/2013 21:32

Amber you are phenomenal....do not like higgs at all.....you know I think they all read the Daily Mail on that thread, I'm feeling a lot of anger.........have again been a bit naughty over there...Grin

marsha I don't think they've chosen the best photos though....mostly suited, no casual looks. We could compile our own....or just vote on Amber board.

QueenCadbury · 05/08/2013 21:37

Oh dear. I saw the charity comment earlier and knew it was all about to kick off again. dry loved your comment Grin

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 05/08/2013 21:38

Now I have got over the shock of hat, beard and stripes I would totally go for John Hamm. He's now my favourite.
