9 miles in 29 minutes... woo hoo!
I'm a big sweaty mess though... And I sped up towards the end but got a bit dizzy :o

I did have a nice breeze going, with all the windows and doors open, but dsd came home, so I had to shut myself away and it was not fun without any air.

Lovely jeans Linus.

Hi Dauphin.

Fab hair Shop. Go for it.

I was debating chopping my hair off (it's boob length at the moment)
I had 8 inches cut off last year, it was stupidly long.
And i've pinned some shoulder length styles that I quite like.
But I watched a bit of the Kardashians on tv last night, and I want long hair again.
:o

Annianni · 16/07/2013 19:12

Foxy, was I right with my guess?

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 16/07/2013 19:15

Cool haircut Shop. You're obvs far cooler than me, I would have hair rebellion as mine needs a no-style easy cut on account of the fact I'm too lazy to do anything to make myself look decent

Paris are you close to Comptoir des Cotonniers in Nottingham? I posted links yesterday of a dress and shoes I love which are sold out in my sizes online. If you ever go in the shop I'd appreciate feedback as to whether they likely stocked them or not. If you're not a regular, don't bother because I think I'll probably head in myself in a couple of days and see what's on offer. Their sale was pretty awesome - most stuff seemed to be at least 50% off.

Anyone seen this month's Red Magazine with the Chanel feature? I'm in love with the mohair bag, but at almost £2k I've had to console myself with a bottle of Le Vernis in <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=1.bp.blogspot.com/-ojX9D3bzDd4/UUlK1j4jNVI/AAAAAAAAUP0/Cy0xsPHL3FY/s640/Chanel%2BTaboo%2Bswatch.jpg&imgrefurl=www.thebeautylookbook.com/2013/03/chanel-taboo-583-le-vernis.html&h=1080&w=1440&sz=1106&tbnid=YLriRZ7nNL8ppM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=120&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dchanel%2Ble%2Bvernis%2Btaboo%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=chanel+le+vernis+taboo&usg=__iedyZ1bAt64ohikOyUlfco5Oi2g=&docid=JI1HWUQlHxc55M&sa=X&ei=Wo3lUcS5AYq2hQfl_4H4AQ&ved=0CC8Q9QEwAA&dur=7857" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Taboo which is so deliciously vampish, but still small consolation for the lush bag.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 16/07/2013 19:46

Extra 20% off on Gap online today only.

Just ordered DD2 some nice DVF things from there.

QueenCadbury · 16/07/2013 20:03

Nice varnish grumpy. Do you not find chanel peels off though?

I met up with a friend today and may have bought a fushia cross body bag. foxy it was from a shop in your neck of the woods.

shop does you hair behave itself as that hairstyle is lovely but will yours stay nicely curled under.

santamarianovella · 16/07/2013 20:25

shop i swear that model is a dead ringer of my mum ! hair and all, back in the late 70s that is,i emailed her the pic. l like it but i think you need to have very very straight and thick hair to pull it off. and well done on selling the bed, hassle free.

marsha lovely purchases, love your style, very uber cool and minimal

ani i love MIH jeans, but im not a fan of the paris cut, the oslo look more forgiving and what a bargain!

dry how old is your dd? and you must be a very cool mum,if your dd agrees to go shopping with you! i hated going with my mum,she only took me to really boring stores.

foxy its the pale rose one,but i think i will return it,i have a very similar one, with lace inserts, i might order a paul and joe dress instead.

and delurkers, welcome .

BrandyAlexander · 16/07/2013 20:29

Shop, I like the do, but is your face shape round? Mine is, so I would worry about it translating from looking cool to frumpy. That's just me though!

Grumpy was it tht strip dress yesterday? Looked v cool.

I can't believe you ladies are looking at A/W in a hot spell!!!!

BrandyAlexander · 16/07/2013 20:37

Ooh forgot to say hello to the delurkers! Hellooo! Please stay! All sorts of shapes, heights, tastes and budgets catered for on here. Smile We love links though because my imagination is crap

On a totally non-related point if I ever ever say I want a calf mohair type bag again, please remind me of this postAngry two bloody years I wanted this bag sheds like mad!Angry

I have no idea what my face shape is? What do you reckon? Pic still on my profile....
I do have super thick hair so that bit's okay. It's just the well behaved, high maintenance, curling under bit that you've all quite rightly mentioned that i'm not sure about. Santa your mum sounds super cool!
Well done Anni v impressive!
Love that nail varnish Grumpy

But it looks lovely Novice, do you think it will stop shedding after a point? Could you Hoover it?Grin < just a stupid idea>

My Dd is 12 and DS 14 ( I know you're all thinking I must have married YOUNG aren't you Wink). My DH, as you well know, is sartorially challenged, I, on the other hand am a member of the elite fashionista set that is MNV ( I will one day receive my GiGis but have yet to purchase a Wang)
Any way, it's kind of sweet that both my kids trust my fashion judgement (so far) and aren't into expensive brands ( although I'm still scarred from my horrendous trip to Holister in US a few months back). On the whole Top Man and Primark are the go to shops which is fine by me. I'm teaching them to find the look cheaper. DS is currently skulking around like JFK in a pair of Top Man raybans, is into striped t shirts and rolled up denim shorts . He spends an increasing time looking at clothes on the Internet ( girls' influence !!)
So far I am managing to be involved in their clothes choices because I pay but also because I let them be "appropriately" trendy, and I enjoy shopping although it's heads down if we bump into a friend and their girl friends have made positive comments about my clothes, which helps.

Sorry that was long.

shop try the hair, the great thing about hair is you can change it back if you don't like it

shopafrolic · 16/07/2013 21:01

Bloody hell Dry still no Gigis? You do sound like one cool mummy. My mum was very strict when we went shopping but it has served me well as she taught me to spend more money on classic pieces, and about good tailoring, and to spend less on passing trends. She always pointed out good fitting clothes on others (and poor fitting clothes too!) so I am quite fussy now as a result......
I do remember her trying to buy me a coat from Country Casuals when I was about 20 though Hmm

shop im sure your dresser will give you the proper answer, from your posts he sounds very professional.

Drywhiteplease · 16/07/2013 21:13

shop when I was growing up there wasn't much money but a whole heap of love and excellent food to spend on clothes. While all my school friends were rich girls who could dress top to toe in Bennetton ( 80s equivalent of Jack Wills today) I had a choice of C + A or home made. The latter was the catalyst to my love of fashion.......a very low point was going to 6th form college ( filled with rara shirts, bleached demon "drainpipes" and perms and Bananarama looka likes) with a home made dungarees and matching bomber jacket ensemble in beige corduroy......my DS had the same but in burgundy. It was them I knew I needed to get a Saturday job and pronto and eventually ended up working in some amazing fashion stores as a proper job later on.

santamarianovella · 16/07/2013 21:18

dry when I was 12 I wanted to dress like Cher from cluless and my mum still wanted to dress me like I was 8! She nearly fainted when I went shopping for the first time with my friends, and saw the pink cropped sweater and the mini argyle skirtGrin

Drywhiteplease · 16/07/2013 21:19

Oh and btw....with my first pay from my Saturday job I literally sprinted to Bennetton and bought a pastel pink (not my colour at all) lambs wool and angora jumper and matching scarf. The following month a pair of white v pointed flats which I loved soooo much I had them by my bed........

Drywhiteplease · 16/07/2013 21:21

santa that's a great look, v preppy, v JWills infact!

Drywhiteplease · 16/07/2013 21:23

me as a teenager....mostly

santamarianovella · 16/07/2013 21:38

dry most of these styles are back, but in a very modern way,its like designers who are inspired by the 80s take the good and leave the bad out in a very dark place i hope

i loved how molly ringwald dressed in pretty in pink, and sweet sixteen.

Drywhiteplease · 16/07/2013 21:44

I agree ... A lot of 80s stuff out there.

OneLittleLady · 16/07/2013 21:50

I seem to remember having tops that matched my ra-ra skirts in my 80's youth ( a 1983 baby myself) and lots of corduroy, especially dungarees.

foxysocks · 16/07/2013 21:52

So much to catch up on! Just finished teaching and have a lovely MNVer coming for a class tomorrow morning so must sleep ASAP.

Quick replies...

yep marsha, manuka agreed to refund the diff. Love it when shops are good like that.

Anni -great guessing, have mailed you

Santa- I ordered the same dress Today! Mainly to get next day delivery on my extra bikini bits but you never know, it might stay.

There was nothing I wanted at Donna Ida but yay for the 'C' jeans Linus! Where are all the white jeans?! NOT on sale, that's where.

Feeling bit glum that there was nothing at d ida, nothing at me and em, nor NaP pour moi. Boo.

DH loves with a capital L the odabash bikini so that's staying, hurrah.

Have found a poss summer dress elsewhere at a hefty discount but only one left in my size so am going to sleep on it, will link tomorrow if I order

Stay lurkers!

Great hair idea shop.

Night all xxx

foxysocks · 16/07/2013 21:53

Oooo which shop QueenC? Was it pink lemons?

LinusDKD · 17/07/2013 07:24

Morning!

I love that nail varnish grumpy! But I mustn't buy more nail varnish until I have mastered doing my own nails.

Today I am wearing my cobalt Asos pencil skirt with an acid yellow Massimo Dutti tee, cobalt Gigis and blue Chan Luu bracelet and gold bangles.

Oh and in half an hour I am having my first bikini wax since DD was born. TMI?

BrandyAlexander · 17/07/2013 08:12

Morning all!

Linus your outfit sounds lovely! "Enjoy" the bikini waxGrin

Shop, I don't think your face is round actually. You can always try the hairstyle, if it doesn't look as chic as your current one chop it off!

So tonight, I will be at The Ivy. I am stupidly excited because its a long time since I ate there. I am going to do first outing of this Michael Kors dress, with the Atwoods and first outing of Louboutin clutch that sil got me for my 40th.

Bling is Tiffanys diamond studs (I wear them all the time - present from dh), diamond pendant (present from mil), boodles raindance (present from dh), ankle bracelet (again present from dh) and two me presents surely the worlds blingiest watchBlush and tennis bracelet. I think I might actually glow its so OTT!Grin Happy Bling day!
