A well fitting, smart/sexy and preferably push-up bra size 38A... impossible???

I am sooo fed up with trying to find a well fitting bra, preferably nice looking and adding a bit of "volume" in my size...
I'm starting to feel like a freak!
Am i really the only person in the world with really small breasts and a slightly larger ribcage?
Every bra I find is either too tight around my chest or has gaping cups. I need a wired one as any others leave me looking completely flat-chested.
Any suggestions of shops or online retailers would be greatly appreciated!

Can someone help I’ve just tried this and I’m a 34 underneath and 40 round the bust

StatisticallyChallenged · 17/04/2019 22:30

I love how this thread comes back from the dead every so often!

Champagnetaste that would be a start point of a 34E - what are you wearing just now and how does it fit?

Champagnetaste · 18/04/2019 17:27

A 36b 🤦‍♀️

goose1964 · 19/04/2019 09:56

You need to convert M&S sizing to modern sizing so take 4 off the size and increase the same in cup size so an M&S A is actually a D. I'm old enough to remember the old sizing.

BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney · 22/07/2019 11:12

I'm giving this a try.... I've just measured and I'm 37 around the back and 46 around the boobs, should I try a 36FF? I'm currently in a C cup. Thank you bra fairies!

CornishYarg · 22/07/2019 18:38

@BabyDarlingDollfaceHoney I would start with both 38G and 36GG and see which works better. But also try the cup sizes either side of both of those to see what gives you the best fit, as that will also depend on the style of bra you're trying.

Can someone please help. I’ve measured my 13 year old daughter using the size guide on geroge’s asda website and it is saying she is 38a. I thought it seemed wrong straight away (as in she is deffo bigger), so tried the other way of measuring in inches and adding 4 if an even number etc. It still came up with 38a. I cant find a bra anywhere and she is flat out refusing to be measured by a shop!

KatharinaRosalie · 18/08/2019 17:52

What are her measurements? You do NOT need to add any inches. If Asda says 38A I would guess she measures 32DD or similar.

SorrelForbes · 18/08/2019 18:08

Can you remeasure using thi guide?: thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.com/p/fitting-advice.html

Zosalina · 19/08/2019 17:01

Please can you tell me what I should be? I’m 34 underneath and 39 across boobs. I’m currently wearing a 38A - guessing this is wrong!!! Thank youuuu.

KatharinaRosalie · 19/08/2019 17:49

34DD might fit you better, Zosalina

Zosalina · 19/08/2019 19:33

Thank you KatharinaR! I’ve just been to my local Asda and bought a 34DD - something I never thought I’d do!!! It feels good - bit tight on the band, is that normal?? Or should I try a 36?

KatharinaRosalie · 19/08/2019 20:51

It should be quite tight - you should not be able to pull it more than about an inch away from your body. Of course if it's so tight you can't breathe, you might need to go up. But give it a few days, you might simply need to get used to it after wearing 38.

Zosalina · 19/08/2019 21:01

Will do. Thank you for your excellent advice.

BoobSOS · 08/06/2022 20:30

Just came across this thread searching for new bras and hoping someone might see this message as I am SO CONFUSED right now. Everything I’ve ever thought about my breasts has been blown out of the water 😂. I’ve been wearing a 36/38A forever but…. I’ve measured my band size as 37 and my bending over boob size as 42 so… WHAT DOES IT MEAN?? I cannot comprehend that I might be any cup size above an A 🙈

lindyloo57 · 08/06/2022 20:44

Why can't she be an A cup, I used to be a A cup, and I worked as a bra fitter, so came across this size, not that often, but it does exist.
