I am sooo fed up with trying to find a well fitting bra, preferably nice looking and adding a bit of "volume" in my size...
I'm starting to feel like a freak!
Am i really the only person in the world with really small breasts and a slightly larger ribcage?
Every bra I find is either too tight around my chest or has gaping cups. I need a wired one as any others leave me looking completely flat-chested.
Any suggestions of shops or online retailers would be greatly appreciated!

As a start point it is a 34GG. What are you wearing just now?

SinisterBumFacedCat · 21/05/2016 15:38

Just been to tescos, took at 32d in and the cups fit beautifully, however it did pinch underneath. Put my old bra on and realise how superfluous it is, and the a cup gapes, but the D cup didn't. It's crazy, I have probably been wearing the wrong bra all my life! (Post 13yo)

The most wonderful thing is the world of pretty bras is open to me again Smile

SorrelForbes · 21/05/2016 15:40

Afternoon Stats!.can't believe this thread had been resurrected Grin

Lostandinsane · 21/05/2016 15:52

Ah, I called into the shops today and tried on a 30D and yep, that's definitely a better fit!

Only bugger now is finding some, seems a lot of ranges start at 32. An excuse to have a shopping day though!

StatisticallyChallenged · 21/05/2016 16:28

TBH going from a 38, a 32 is going to feel like it pinches a bit as it's so much smaller but that said supermarket bras aren't always the most consistent size wise either. But you'll probably find you have more choice now!

Lostandinsane, you might find more success looking at the so called big boob/D+ ranges simply because they tend to also start at a 28 band - freya, panache, cleo, curvy kate, debenhams gorgeous, etc etc - look at brastop, bravissimo, mycurvesandme as those websites are all d+

StatisticallyChallenged · 21/05/2016 16:29

Hey Sorrel, bit of a blast from the past but it tends to reappear every so often!

Mamabird3 · 21/05/2016 16:33

Ooh this thread is interesting! Can anyone help me? I'm currently wearing a 34d or 34dd. I'm measuring 32 underneath and 40/41 around the boobs, my boobs are quite wide set though and lack a bit of volume up top thanks breastfeeding do you have any idea what the best shape would be also? How do you all know so much about boobs!

quirkychick · 21/05/2016 16:41

Just want to say thanks, Statistically and all the other bra ladies. I finally got some new bras the other month, Bravissimo measured me at a 32D (another one), whereas M&S used to measure me as 36B, John Lewis were better at a 34D. My boobs look 20yrs younger!

Lostandinsane · 21/05/2016 17:12

Statistically - Thanks for that tip, I'll deffo have to a shop around. Wouldn't have previously thought there'd be anything for me in the ranges for busty peoole.

StatisticallyChallenged · 21/05/2016 19:37

Mamabird, start with a 32FF/G and work from there

Shape wise, you might like bras which are half cups or proper balconettes - something like the Freya Kiyoko

SinisterBumFacedCat · 21/05/2016 20:12

Yes Thanks Statistically Flowers you need to change your name to StatisticallyaGenius Grin

iknowimcoming · 21/05/2016 20:12

Thanks, I'm currently in a 32 e/f but have put on weight since buying them sadly BlushSad

Believeitornot · 22/05/2016 07:30

So having read the blog after being forever annoyed by my boobs in a bra, I've measured.
I'm looking at a 30" under boob and 35" across the boob. So does that make me a 30DD or thereabouts? I usually wear a 34B! Which sort of fit ok, on the lowest hook setting and a bit of strap tightening. My boobs are quite saggy and flat post BF although there's more than there looks when I dangle forward.

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/05/2016 08:24

Yup 30dd as a start. Basically right now your bra cups want to fall forward away from your body because the band is too loose and you are only preventing that by tightening the straps a lot.

ThunderboltandLightening · 22/05/2016 11:21

Finally found my tape measure! My measurements are 31 inch under and 37.5 round my boobs. Excitedly awaiting your verdict statistically Grin

ThunderboltandLightening · 22/05/2016 11:26

Just to add my boobs aren't that big. I have a wide back and not much in way of cleavage. My current 38A bras gape at cup and the band isn't as tight as you say it should be. Think i have some old 34/36B bras somewhere. Might see if they fit better...

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/05/2016 11:28

32dd.or e

Lostandinsane · 22/05/2016 11:33

Me again, just wondering about shoulder straps and how they should fit. Is it the same as the back band where you should start off as loose as possible? Or should I be hoiking up the tits as much as poss?

ThunderboltandLightening · 22/05/2016 11:39

Is that my verdict statistically? I am gobsmacked if so. I thought d and e cups were for big boobs Shock

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/05/2016 12:38

If the band is right then the straps should just be comfortable - they won't be doing nearly as much work so shouldn't stretch as badly.

Thunderbolt that was for you.in a small band then dd isn't huge at all, it's just that the papers would have us think it is.

ThunderboltandLightening · 22/05/2016 12:44

Thank you. Am going to go shop and see how that fits. So excited to even look at d cups!

PretzelPrincess · 22/05/2016 12:50

Help me too please!
Just measured and I'm 27 under bust and 32 over. Currently wearing a 30 D but the cup seems to be a bit big and I am wearing the band on the tightest hook.

I'm in desperate need of new bras! After years of pregnancy and breastfeeding I have a mish mash of sizes and my boobs have just settled and I really need new ones. Please help before I blow loads of money on the wrong sizes.

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/05/2016 13:12

Pretzel a 30D is designed for someone measuring roughly 30 under and 34 over so I'd expect it to be a bit big. Your measurements suggest a start point of a 28D/DD - the DD should have the same cup volume as the 30D, but might be better just because it will be held up better. The 28D is basically 1 cup smaller in volume terms.

You'll probably have most luck finding these in the "big boob" brands - freya, panache, cleo, curvy kate etc as they start at 28D in most cases

Rollypoly100 · 22/05/2016 16:16

I'm so glad this thread has been resurrected! I am hoping you bra fitting experts can help me.

My underband measurement is 33 (or a very snug 32). Over bust is 42 (loosely). I thought I may be a 32G or 34FF but I am clueless so would really appreciate your help. Many thanks in advance.

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/05/2016 17:14

32G/GG or 34FF/G
