Oooh I rather love L'eau d'Hiver. It's subtle isn't it - sort of pale and interesting. Quiet and almondy and subtly beautiful. Reminds me a little of L'heure Bleue actually. Would be perfect for the office, or going out to dinner or the theatre. Anywhere where you don't want your perfume to be shouting too loudly.
Also received a sample of Malle's Carnal Flower recently. I like it better than Fracas, it's much fresher with it's green, slightly camphorous notes in the top, but it's still a tuberose cosh.
I'm just not sure about tuberose. It's distinctive and heady and extremely feminine, but there's something just so eighties about the smell. I think I'd only ever be able to wear a tuberose perfume with extremely conservative clothing... perhaps I'll try Tubereuse Criminelle.
I've been looking for a perfume that's light, easy to wear, and subtle for day time recently. Something different from the spicy/sweet/incensey/woody Orientals I usually go for. But I just can't seem to find a floral I like.
Am going to keep going with my testing of the Malle's though. I really do think the quality of his perfumes is exceptional.
