We were getting to the end.

I used to get in the lifts with Sarah before she and Gordon got hitched because she would visit the CEO of the charity I worked for. She looked me up and down in her tan tights. And got irate because she'd gone to the wrong address

We got a 'congrats on the birth of your baby' card from Sarah and Gordon. And a teddy, in a No10 jumper. Oh yes.

Oh Herbs, I feel most cheered for that.

DP used to work with SB in her PR days. We now seem to have fallen off the Christmas card list, however.

Amusingly, the 'congrats' card they sent had a pic of the no10 door with balloons tied to it. DS used to point to it and say 'Mr Tumble's House'. How right he was.

Well I'm in my jammies already. Too much excitement for one week.
What an amazing day! Barak and Michelle were quite inspiring really and it was terrific to see how buoyed up all the kids were by being there today. My naughty colleagues and I spent the afternoon chit chatting about this morning. We have all discovered the liberation of "Not Having A handbag or Phone"!
I was given a White House medal with O'Bama's signature in the back as a souvenir and a Special tin of ( gold) diet coke left by the CIA lol for dd.

Herbs - I remember Stephen Twigg from university days, when he was a scrawny student union hack. And Boris Johnson, who was much the same then as he is now. I wasn't on anyone's Christmas card list, though.

I used to see Boris in the Radcliffe Camera library in his I Heart Maggir badge, ho yes. My own (many) badges were rather different

BTM my friend has just got a job with the National Trust and is all excited about it being outdoors. She's off to get a proper pair of wellies this lunchtime. Not sure shell be so delighted in November in icy horizontal sleet

I'm in Brussels where it's pouring and I've been in a conference centre all day (wearing heels!) and there's a taxi strike....

I am not well pleased and the idea of a NT outside job, even in November, sounds very attractive!

Have just gone round to beauty journalist friend's and collected shameless haul of Expensive Skincare. Am now stroking it lovingly and trying not to cackle.

addle, it's this one that we both have.
It's fab and I highly recommend it. Really good quality fabric and surprisingly flattering and very wearable. I've worn it just out and about and dressed it up and worn to Glyndebourne. HTH
