I don't do contracts as I rarely make calls. It's all about the email. I get by on a £10 top up per month and a huge freebie data allowance from Vodafone. Downloading email is free in a WiFi hotspot. Don't plan on making many calls in Austria..

Stropperella · 14/06/2013 20:15

Have given the cake-making-for-fathers'-day thing due consideration and decided that it would be kinder to help dh get into his swimming trunks by not giving him cake. Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/06/2013 20:25

Interview was longest ever, over an hour. One of the interviewers was interviewing from home, by phone, and I was treated to her four year old having a full on screaming tantrum right next to her in the room, which made me lose my train of thought somewhat. They say diversity, I say lack of professionalism. Don't think I'll be getting that job. Why couldn't she have got someone to take him to the park? There was clearly another adult there.

And we are all horribly stressed here pre-holiday - still got loads to do and haven't eaten yet. SadSadSad

MrsSchadenfreude · 14/06/2013 20:26

Strops, if you are going to Vienna, have topfenstrudel. Best cake ever.

QueenQueenie · 14/06/2013 20:42

Ds1 had his last GCSE yesterday (yay!). Dh and I took him out for a celebratory grown up (expensive) lunch today to Roganic pop-up and ate the most extraordinary and amazing food like this but different. I had a glass of fizz and a glass of red wine and am now good for nothing. Dh is snoozing opposite me on the sofa. Ds1 is out partying!

bigTillyMint · 14/06/2013 21:02

QQ - it looks proper lush! As a point of interest, did your DS get study leave? DH says the government banned it.

Strops, that's right, wifi is your friend! Sod paying!

QueenQueenie · 14/06/2013 21:07

God yes BTM. He's only ben going in for exams since forever... and is now off school til September! Shock
I have got him on dog sitting duties which frees me up to gad about more, cooking supper every Tuesday and have booked him on various improving courses and arranged some work experience stuff...

bigTillyMint · 14/06/2013 21:09

Is it a state school? Sorry for being so nosey - it appears that they didn't do study leave at DD's school, so just wondering what may happen in 2 years time!

QueenQueenie · 14/06/2013 21:20

Have PMed you...

Blackduck · 14/06/2013 22:41

My broadband is mended :) :)

Stropps - you are back, missed you.
MrsS sorry about interview, sounds very crap..

hattymattie · 15/06/2013 07:15

Agree - kid screaming in background of interview - very unprofessional and distracting.

Off to take DS to Star Trek today - have to confess - very excited in childish way and looking forward to lots of Benedict Cumberbatch. DD1 is going to the same screening with her boyfriend and has informed us that she will be sitting nowhere near us Grin

Stropperella · 15/06/2013 07:45

Hooray for your mended broadband BD. Have missed you too! How is your mum doing?
MrsS, I can't believe the interview was allowed to continue with a screaming child in the background - ridiculous.
Enjoy Star Trek, Hattie Grin
Gah, I have so much to do this w/e that I don't know where to start. Worst thing is that as usual no one else in the household had any sense of urgency or indeed responsibility about any of it. Same old, same old. Still,I shall be sure to claim my just rewards in the form of cakes and pastries soon enough (MrsS, I shall think of you fondly when tucking into my first Topfenstrudel Grin ).

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/06/2013 10:23

Screaming rows: two. Progress at leaving house: none.

CointreauVersial · 15/06/2013 11:00

Up early (for a Saturday) to take DD1 to an extra drama class in preparation for their play - then she has to go back for 3.5 hours this afternoon. Same again next week, and the performance isn't for another six weeks. Shock The drama teacher is a pushy perfectionist, and I'll be amazed if DD1 isn't totally cheesed off with the whole thing by the time the performance rolls around. She doesn't even have a speaking part (but lots of dancing, which is her "thing").

This evening the DDs are cooking dinner - home-made burgers followed by a test-run of the ice-cream maker - clotted cream and strawberry is the recipe of choice. I'll report back.....

hattymattie · 15/06/2013 11:54

Oh Mrs S - sounds like you really need your holiday. Enjoy.

bigTillyMint · 15/06/2013 12:17

CV, sounds great - the dinner, I mean!

MrsS, hope you have got off now - going on holiday is so stressful!

hattymattie · 15/06/2013 18:09

So - where have you lot been all afternoon. I've been to Star Trek - cool. Then left DD1 in shopping centre with boyfriend and just had a call to say he has fainted in H&M poor thing. She should know better than to take a male in there. Now waiting for news. Hmm

bigTillyMint · 15/06/2013 18:11

Shock Good job he wasn't in HollisterGrin

hattymattie · 15/06/2013 18:20

Grin - she was very cross with me when I suggested he might be faking it. Apparently his dad's on his way to collect him.

Hollister's that shop where I can't find anything because it's all black and I feel about 90 years old isn't it?

I have just had a text from MrsS who informs me it is scorchio and she is going in the pool. I am trying not to compare this with SE LondonGrin

hattymattie · 15/06/2013 18:31

Oh - everybody's checked in. Where is Mrs S or is it top secret.

Champers and prawn crackers Hmm we're on rosé and humus here - hope I don't have to drive anywhere. The sky has suddenly uncovered. Still waiting for a status update on DBoyfriend.

bigTillyMint · 15/06/2013 18:46

ruby - champers, prawn crackers and thai curry cooked by DHEnvy

Glad MrsS is having a hot time - she needs a break. Wish I was there, though!

We are off to the pub to meet friends in 10mins!

Glad MrsS has finally got away Grin

Kedgeree and dhal here...

Took ds to buy dp's Father's Day pressie and slumped on sofa for the afternoon. I look hideous as I have a swollen eye (stress) and generally feeling knackered.
