hello and welcome!

OP posts:
SorrelForbes · 25/05/2013 14:22

buildingmycorestrength I'd try a 34G and sizes around there (34FF, 34GG).

At the moment I'm really liking the fit of the Cleo Juna and the Panache Idina Balconette. They're both very plain and come in nude. You can order them on-line from various stockists, Bravissimo, BraStop etc.

OohMrDarcy · 25/05/2013 17:50

I'm going to have to go into a shop and try loads on aren't I?!

There is a debenhams down here which might be best bet, or a m&s.... but how do I stop the staff being 'helpful' ?

marriednotdead · 25/05/2013 22:36

Leave M&S out of it!

Debenhams have a reasonable range. If you try their comfort cup T shirt bras (which go to a G), you may be able to get a better fit between the boobs as the cups are quite deep. If that doesn't work, do report back on the issues and I'll put my thinking cap on.

EdwiniasRevenge · 26/05/2013 12:31

I want to stop by and offer more huge thanks to sorrel and statistically and others.

I was reluctantly intervened a good couple of months ago. I was shocked. My profile change was amazing. Now I have ditched the winter jumpers and got out my summery strappy tops...I am going wow all over again.

(Thankyou for transforming me from a 38AA to a 32DD/E)

Thanks also from me! Haven't quite sorted it yet but know I will give it a try soon.

OohMrDarcy · 27/05/2013 12:07

Good afternoon all Grin

I went to local debenhams and tried on LOTS of bras!, Turns out I am around a 38GG! I suspect in some styles it would be a 36H so will be sure to try on any new styles first!

Boobs looking much more pert and supported and I have 2 bras which actually fit! (more to come next month!)

Thank you all so much for your help!

LikeTheStuffYouHangUp · 29/05/2013 19:53

Hi, I did this around a year ago and bought some great bras and found some amazing confidence, but since then I've changed shape (lost baby weight) and have no idea what size I should be wearing now

Im a 31 around the back so should I be wearing a 32? and a 36.5 around the bust, both measurements taken whilst bending over (much to dh's amusement! please help!

sparkle12mar08 · 29/05/2013 20:00

Start with a 30E, and try 30F, 32E, and 32DD as well. Because your measurements are all in between you may need to play around with sizes to find a great fit.

LikeTheStuffYouHangUp · 29/05/2013 20:11

I've just checked and my bravissimo bras are all between 30 E/F so it would seem I havent changed that much.

Why dont my bras feel like they fit? i just feel so uncomfortable like they are all too tight? and I cant wait to take them off at the end of the day!

LikeTheStuffYouHangUp · 29/05/2013 20:12

sorry, thank you btw Smile

StatisticallyChallenged · 29/05/2013 20:29

It could be that you need the 32, but what is also likely is that your bras are a little worn. Sometimes they soften off too much and eventually become uncomfortable as they don't support enough.

NachoAddict · 29/05/2013 20:38

Hello Bra Guru's. I was intervened and went from a 34d to a 30g, they fit much better, more supportive and more comfortable.... but it's like I have had a boob reduction, I feel like my boobs are much smaller and my cleavage has gone :( what has happened?

All of my old bras were padded plunge style and my new ones are much less padded and either half cup or balconette style, is it just a style problem?

sparkle12mar08 · 29/05/2013 20:49

It's possibly a style thing yes, but it could also be because you're so used to seeing your boobs so squashed together in too small a cup. It takes time to get used to seeing them individually encased in their own cup rather than spilling over. But use it as an excuse to order a shedload of plunge styles to try on Grin Go on,spend some money, you know you want to! I'm such an enabler!

NachoAddict · 29/05/2013 20:57

haha sparkle since these threads I have already spent more on bras in a couple of months than I have in years! I used to buy any old 34D, you can buy them anywhere but you don't get 30g's in Asda Sad

I think you right about the getting used to it. I hav just put an old bra on to reassure myself that my chest hasn't been spirited away and they are still there squashed together. Relief! I think I definitley need some new plunges.

StatisticallyChallenged · 29/05/2013 21:13

Nice plunges - try the Freya Deco, Bravissimo Satine, Curvy Kate Tempt me, Wild, Elegance, Wonderbra T-shirt bra as a starter.

NachoAddict · 29/05/2013 21:56

Thanks Statistically, I knew you ladies would sort me out!

GleamingHeels · 30/05/2013 23:26

I think this bra stuff is brilliant - have moved myself from a 38DD to a 34H and what a difference, thank you very much...

now I am spreading the word and would like your advice so that I can help my sister - she measures 31/36, so I guess that's something around 30DD? (though she's very tall and thin, so may need a 32 band?) She describes her breasts as being 'empty triangles' (after breastfeeding) and feels that whatever cup size she either doesn't fill properly or her breasts are sort of rolled/squashed... anyway any suggestions of style or specific brands that might help her?

bishboschone · 31/05/2013 07:15

Can someone please tell me what size I should be wearing if I measure 28 around the rib cage and 34 across my boobs . Please.

StatisticallyChallenged · 31/05/2013 07:47

Start by trying a 28E bishboschone

bishboschone · 31/05/2013 08:39

Blimey .. The main problem I have is that although my frame is quite small I have some overspill if my bra is too tight . How does one overcome this?

StatisticallyChallenged · 31/05/2013 08:54

Scooping!

All those bumps, lumps, back fat, armpit fat - they get yanked in to the bra! However it only works if A: the back is small enough and b: the cup is big enough.

Basically, put bra on, then stand side on to a miror. Lean forward, put your right hand inside your left cup, reach round as far as you can and pull/scoop/yank all the flesh/soft tissue that is bumping under or over the back, around the straps or the armpit and haul its ass in to the cup. Repeat at other side. You might need to do it a couple of times (as doing one side knocks the other out slightly)

bishboschone · 31/05/2013 11:33

I have been to take my 34d wonderbra back today and tried 32 dd , 30 e and 30 f . I couldn't decide which one was best but established the 34 d was not tight enough on my back. I only want a strapless bra , so bravissimo sell wonderbra do you know?

StatisticallyChallenged · 31/05/2013 11:37

They don't sell the ultimate strapless unfortunately. They do sell plenty of others though.

StatisticallyChallenged · 31/05/2013 11:37

Based on your measurements I'd guess the 30DD/E in the Wonderbra - the sizing is a bit off and a lot of people go up a back size in it

bishboschone · 31/05/2013 13:10

I just want one that fits and stays up . Don't care of the make or price to be honest .
