Calling all HOC winters.....

QueenCadbury · 21/04/2013 09:21

So, I had my colours done yesterday and I am now a sprinter winter. My best colours being royal blue, electric blue, damson, lagoon blue and light emerald.

Of course a shopping trip is now required Grin so I'm just after any inspiration by what you fellow winters have recently bought...

Second loving the emerald options. I love emerald! I have these earrings and they're great...you could go for a sort of Angelina Jolie 2009 Oscars look. Smile

On a different note -- has anyone seen this? I'm kind of thinking now that I might not be a Winter at all, but a Deep Soft Summer. Hmmm.

MadAboutHotChoc · 09/09/2013 11:59

Just wanted to rave about the aveda black malva conditioner - its fantastic stuff, been using it a lot during the hot summer to keep the reddish tint at a minimum and I find that I go longer between dye jobs, my roots don't look too grey so I tend to leave it for an extra week or two.

Kezztrel · 09/09/2013 14:51

Queen my vote is for emerald accessories with the dress (or silver, but that's less exciting).

aftermay · 09/09/2013 15:37

If you can do emerald that's a nice option. I think my favourite would be for red shoes and red lipstick and very simple otherwise. Where's the party? Will you be looking at jacket on top? You'd need to show the dress in all its beauty :)

Kezztrel · 09/09/2013 16:18

Those who have the Gap striped merino crew - what is the sizing like please?

Kezztrel · 09/09/2013 16:27

Just accidentally found a nice emerald v-neck on Banana Republic...

KosherBacon · 09/09/2013 19:10

Kezztrel- I went for a large in the Gap. I'm a 14 on top and a 32G and it was all just a bit tight over the bust. I normally take a medium in Banana Republic and tried on mediums but decided I needed a bit more give.

KosherBacon · 09/09/2013 19:11

Kezztrel- that emerald sweater is lovely! In spring they did silk in that colour and u bought a beautiful collarless silk blouse.

Kezztrel · 09/09/2013 20:57

Thanks for Gap info Kosher. I think maybe I don't need a new jumper...Grin

The Hush catalogue came today and they have a cobalt cotton snood that is tempting me!

QueenCadbury · 09/09/2013 22:37

Ooh I must check that out online. I really want a cobalt scarf.

QueenCadbury · 09/09/2013 22:38

nice. Do hush ever do discount codes?

OP posts:
Kezztrel · 10/09/2013 08:42

My catalogue has HSAW02 for free delivery/free returns. Never bought from them before, not sure if they do proper discounts.

Kezztrel · 10/09/2013 14:53

This bag is so cool

But what I really came on to ask is: What colour is Mole? These boots are described as iced taupe - is that the same as mole? The mole in my swatch book looks graphite with a hint of brown to me - is that how you other winters see it?

aftermay · 10/09/2013 15:38

Yes, I would say mole has some brown in it. The boots are nice but I'd go for a more 'defined' colour.

Kezztrel · 10/09/2013 15:50

Yes I think I'd prefer a stronger, greyer colour than those boots, they're a bit washed out.

MadAboutHotChoc · 10/09/2013 15:51

Yes that's how I see it too. Its supposed to be one of my best colours but its hard to find although I have seen it in shops like Noa Noa and Jigsaw.

MadAboutHotChoc · 10/09/2013 15:52

Agree with comments re boots - if only these were a bit darker.

MadAboutHotChoc · 10/09/2013 15:55

I seem to remember seeing similar in Clarks in taupe and grey...might be worth a try?

Kezztrel · 10/09/2013 15:59

Just had a flick through Clarks website Mad, couldn't see any with zips up the back like the Gap ones but they do have some very nice looking taupe and grey ones...will pop in and try some.

Kezztrel · 10/09/2013 16:01

Would you call these mole? Or do they need to be darker?

MadAboutHotChoc · 10/09/2013 16:11

Definitely grey I think.

littlecupcake · 10/09/2013 17:07

Hello ladies, I've got my colour swatch in front of me but I can't find the little book that I got at the consultation that lists all of the names of the winter colours. Would anyone be kind enough to send me a list of them? I'm trying to work out what my best colours are, and thought it would be easier to remember the name of the colours rather than imagine little samples of the best ones! Many thanks.

MadAboutHotChoc · 11/09/2013 08:54

The little book has all your ratings and percentages in it - did you write these in the colour swatch?

The colours are:
White, silver, light grey, grey, charcoal, black, indigo, royal purple, navy, royal blue, electric blue, lobelia, mole, stone, fuchsia, magenta, cerise, shocking pink, raspberry, damson, burgundy, carmine, scarlet, acid yellow, chinese blue, lagoon blue, light emerald, dark emerald, pine green and then the 6 ice colours.

aftermay · 11/09/2013 19:57

A replacement book is £65 Shock I'm staying away from shops this week so I can't report on anything nice in wintery colours. I gave in and wore my beloved grass green gilet today. Not a good colour but it's too comfy & relatively new to give away.

littlecupcake · 11/09/2013 20:13

You're a star, MadAbout, thank you so much!

Yes, I've got a little code in the colour swatch so I can see the best colours, just wanted to assign names to them so they're easier to picture (why is it whenever I see clothes I like I never have the swatch with me and I'm not very good at imagining the colours)! The booklet will turn up, I've seen it recently and it's in one of those 'safe' places.
