So, I had my colours done yesterday and I am now a sprinter winter. My best colours being royal blue, electric blue, damson, lagoon blue and light emerald.

Of course a shopping trip is now required Grin so I'm just after any inspiration by what you fellow winters have recently bought...

I love that BA&SH jumper. Unfortunately luckily for my bank balance it's out of stock in my size.

The GAP dress I like doesn't seem to be on sale here - boo

Those Gap dresses are lovely. If the red is a true red I might try one.

I've had a few things arrive lately. The forest green Cos jumper and charcoal striped t-shirt went straight back. The green jumper was so dark that it looked like a bad black in most lights, and it was a bizarre shape. The tshirt was also a bizarre shape with massive sleeves. Cos are weird :)

The Topshop midnight blue fur snood is kind of lovely, great colour, feels very soft. It does look fake, but midnight blue fur will do that... It's too big though, I can't pull it off personally as I have a small frame and long thin neck.

I ordered the BA&SH bright blue jumper even though it's rather expensive...and I do love it. Have ordered the smaller size to compare, and meanwhile will try and justify keeping it Grin

Just seen this navy animal print dress - I'm in love!! Was in the Gap last week and I did not see any of these dresses Sad

There's a lovely navy (and red but looks a bit orangey) side zip dress on the canada gap home page. I'm going to see if it's available here.

Hello winters. I've been avoiding this thread because you are all responsible for me spending way too much money on clothes this autumn!Grin. But I thought some of you may be interested in seeing this feature from Gap over here - 'tis wintertastic 10 pieces 7 days
Apologies, I don't think all the styles / colourways are available in the EU - the navy print pleated skirt is fab but I didn't see it on the Gap Uk website (yet any way). I tried it on yesterday & in a fit of spending guilt decided to think on it. DH is trudging through the rain right now to go back & get it for me.

Baaa Grin

I can't understand why there's tonnes of information to be found on th'interweb about colour analysis but not a single thing (that I can find) that explains the categories of style.
I want to self analyse and then pay to prove myself wrong dammit!

I'm such a sheep too. I was convinced that I didn't need to do the style day but have become more and more intrigued by it.

Like Eliz I am a sultry winter.

I remember trying on one of these greige polishes (think it was Revlon's Grace) and wasn't sure about the look.

I personally prefer plum, navy, dark grey etc but sometimes I do need to wear something not as strong e.g work meeting/interviews.

QueenCadbury · 18/11/2013 15:52

eliz it was bought prior to getting my colours done as has only been worn about once since. I tend to go for brighter colours nowadays. But miss that's a good point that we will all probably suit different neutrals. I can't remember what kind of winter you are?

Essie Fiji is famous for being the perfect opaque light pink, but I didn't like it - it looked like I was wearing Tippex on my nails. But the formula was excellent.

I've always loved the look of that one QueenC, but it looks awful against my skin Confused But we are at opposite ends of the winter spectrum!

QueenCadbury · 18/11/2013 15:45

I've got this one. Essie do have a great range of neutrals.

Thanks EB - will check these out. Prefer the ballerina/ballet slippers ones as I prefer these not to look sheer.

MissScatterbrain I use Chanel Ballerina, which is a very pale ice pink - gives your nails a lovely polished, clean look. Takes two or three coats not to be streaky. It doesn't get amazing reviews online but I've been through 3 bottles so it can't be that bad.

Another option is Essie Ballet Slippers or Essie Mademoiselle. Both sheer ice pinks. They work particularly well together (one coat of Ballet Slippers followed by one coat of Mademoiselle).

Just remembered a question I have re nude/pale neutral nail polish. What do you use?

I'm jealous, Face - would love a cheap style day. Enjoy!

Have ordered some knitted snoods off ebay in nice winter colours (dark red and cobalt), ready for the cold snap that's on its way. Also have a granite coloured fleecy gilet from Boden when they had their mini sale a few weeks ago which I am wearing right now. Not trendy but living in the countryside means I spend a lot of time outdoors.

I'm going to go for it. Hurrah! She said about weight that most women don't change their overall shape that much if they lose weight - they are just a smaller version. Also, either you have a waist or you don't, you don't normally develop one just by losing weight.

She said I can also bring any colours I'm unsure of on the day.

LakeFlyPie I bought that top on Friday. It's lovely, nice and long too.

Just a quick report of a lovely bright purple long sleeved, boat neck T shirt I found in Sainsbury yesterday for £6 if anyone wants a cheapie winter top.

Am intrigued by the style analysis, would love to know more about the style categories (I can't get the link from another thread to work).

Would also welcome any recommendations for Style Consultants in north west.
