How did we finish the other thread so fast...? Less than a month.

I'm in MI, (as long as I'm invited, etc). Though can probably stagger home, and not need BTM's B&B services. How exciting!

wilbur · 25/04/2013 08:44

That's exciting - I'm very much hoping to make MI's bash on the 8th too, just need to check something that was pencilled in with MIL yonks ago but not mentioned since. Will be lovely to see some fellow crepeys. Smile

In weight loss news, I have shifted a few pounds (yay) and also was asked to write a blog piece about it for Gransnet (Gran! Is it cos I is Crepey?). Tis here if anyone fancies a look. It's been ages since I wrote an article like this, so I'm a bit rusty. Had forgotten that it's quite fun.

Oh good article Wilbur! I need to seriously get back to 5:2 - I looked at myself yesterday and the gut is back big style! So lots of salad here I come! I like dhal and M&S' comes in at around 160 calories so that's usually tea for me on a fast day. Supposed to be on a 2 yesterday, but it went yo pot over a bottle of wine and a curry Shock

bigTillyMint · 25/04/2013 09:36

Ooh, good article Wilbur! I bow to you people who can fast for 2 days a week!

hattymattie · 25/04/2013 09:37

I also have a gut. Summer seems to be even worse than winter and I blame DH - for offering vast quantities of rosé and ice cream. (Haagen Daas pralines and cream for those of you who are interested.). This is not conducive to a bikini belly.

motherinferior · 25/04/2013 09:56

Leave the bastard, Hatty. It's emotional abuse, innit. Foie Gras Syndrome or something, I bet.

Blackduck · 25/04/2013 09:59

Grin MI
BTM like Wilbur says I find it easier than calorie counting everyday or low carbing (find that really difficult and it just makes me want to eat a chip butty Grin) this way you only think about it two days a week and I actually feel better for it (weight loss is not the only advantage)

hattymattie · 25/04/2013 10:16

Grin I never thought of it like that MI. I reckon he has a secret hankering for a fat wife amongst all these skinny French women whom as we know "don't get fat".

I'm gonna tell him what you said though. (wondering if I'll get an internet ban for doing this).

wilbur · 25/04/2013 12:06

Ruby - yes, that's me and dd. Taken about three years ago now, but I never have any decent pics of me - they're all of dh and kids as I am the family photogapher. Thanks for nice words.

BD - have discovered new summer 5:2 dinner - salad nicoise. Had huge bowl last night, plus one egg and half tin of tuna. Yummy and v low cal.

Hatty - I also drink far more in summer than in winter. Sitting outside with a bottle glass of wine, or a pimms, or a g&t, or a negroni. Mmmm. May to September is basically one long alcoholic haze.

bigTillyMint · 25/04/2013 12:16

One of my colleagues has bought in lots of lovely birthday treats which I keep having to try. I fear for my gutSmile

I think I would just overeat on the other daysBlush

Very hot holidays in places with healthy food (ie Thailand) are my top dieting tip - I just don't feel so hungry!

Blackduck · 25/04/2013 22:21

Page 2 ladies I am aghast - are all you southerners in the garden on the BBQ???

I am in London on a course - four of us have already markers ourselves out as the late ones/drinkers ..... Ho hum... :)

Stropperella · 25/04/2013 22:28

Some bleedin' chance (re: BBQ), BD. Work, vet, bank, work, cooking, work, parents' evening, circuits, work, wine, fall over. OK, I haven't got to the "fall over" bit yet, but I'm working on it. I will regret the "wine" and "fall over" bits at approx 5.30am tomorrow.

Enjoy your course :)

Blackduck · 25/04/2013 22:38

Stropps :) ...
Tis fun, buggger the speakers, it all about the networking :)
Hey ladies on another note - large cottage - crepeys - wine - food - convo - company = fab weekend?

Blackduck · 25/04/2013 22:39

You can come to me?

CointreauVersial · 25/04/2013 23:00

Ohhh, BD that sounds fab! I need a holiday.

Like Strops, I am a hamster on a treadmill at the moment. Work is full-on, and we are gearing up for our annual Football Tournament on Saturday - I am in charge of the Scoring and Control Tent, and DH is running the car parking. My car is currently full of traffic cones, and I've been busy all afternoon printing scoresheets and trying to arrange the PA set-up.

We are avidly watching the weather forecast - cooler and showery, apparently Angry . But sunny on Sunday, so that's OK then.Angry Angry Last year was so horrible, torrential rain and wind, and it made what should have been a fun day into an endurance test....fingers crossed we have a mostly dry day, as I'm not looking forward to 14 hours in Glasto-style mud.

By the way, I'm thinking maybe I might join in with the BTM sleepover....I'll bring my onesie and a bag of popcorn......

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/04/2013 23:09

I was a bit terse with AB today. He asked me if I had enjoyed my leave...

"large cottage - crepeys - wine - food - convo - company = fab weekend"- sounds good to me too!

CV, Come, come!!
Footy sounds like fun - weather forecast for here doesn't look too bad, but shame it won't be yesterday's weather.

MrsS, how much longer?

YES to weekend. AB truly surpassing himself.

Stropperella · 26/04/2013 10:15

Oh yes to weekend. Although am currently looking a bit booked up until July. Summer holidays weekend??

Good luck with the footie tournament, CV. Didn't the tent blow away last year? Surely this year it can only be better.

AB is one goady little toad. You have incredible reserves of self-control, MrsS.

"Mass crepey sleepover" Grin Grin

Oh and I was completely right about regretting the wine at 5.30am. Especially as the dog's kennels revenge squits got me up at 1.30am and 4am. Vet again this morning and it looks as though dog will have to come to the Golden Wedding party tomorrow. The dog and his volcanic squits. All the way to Dorking.

bigTillyMint · 26/04/2013 11:13

Agree re summerholiday or even early September weekend - very booked up now!

herbaceous · 26/04/2013 12:18

Oooh yes. September can be lovely.

My fitflop high-tops arrived today, and they're pretty ace! So comfy, and as they've got high tops, their bulkiness is kind of 'allowed'...

bigTillyMint · 26/04/2013 14:08

We could have some birthday drinkies if it was in September - my birthday's on the 3rdWink
