How did we finish the other thread so fast...? Less than a month.

I have just purchased some very nice fig cologne from Monoprix - tis the ubiquitous "Bien-Etre" but a new "flavour." Most pleasing.

A sudden and rare flash of inspiration!

Am going to drag DD2 to the huge H & M at La Defense tomorrow, so thank you for your offer, but I will see how we go there. No matter what she wears, it will be wrong, according to my mother, so I need to find her something she is comfortable in and which will be worn again. My Aunt adored DD2, and she would just have been delighted to see her - they shared a very dry sense of humour.

Watched a fab film called This is 40 on the flight back last night which, (although I am hurtling towards 50) was was so true and made me realise that the bickering/arguing, non-perfection etc on holiday was completely normal for families - it's just that I have no benchmark for normal family life

Queenie I am in Kefalonia and the goats are not in trees, but are on the roof of cars, all over major mountainous, twisty roads and anywhere else they feel they would like to be
Dp is sunburnt, a very nice chemist gave me some trial size lotion for ds (he is allergic to lots of them and I failed to buy at the airport), this is a brand I have never heard of, but seems to be fine and he is rash free.
On the downside Greece is way more expensive than it was 15 odd years ago!

Oh BTM and on family dis harmony we have had the minimum of two major breakdowns a day. Today I pointed out to ds that there was no point bringing him away if he just wanted to sit in the hotel playing minecraft all day - cue meltdown. Doesn't help that dp goes out to wind ds up at every opportunity

@ unruly goats. Glad you are having lovely weather, BD. In answer to your q on the other thread, we were teaching in Brunei - local schools as opposed to international. H was teaching secondary and I taught primary 3 and 4.

Absolutely pouring with rain here. dcs have been banned from all electronica until they have finished golden-themed artwork for golden wedding party we are going to in a couple of weeks. There is much cutting, pasting, spraying and grumbling going on. It was probably unwise to let them have the gold spray paint.

BD, we were doing quite well then - we even had some days with no breakdowns DS was a royal PITA - think it was/is the combination of puberty hitting and no mates to fool around with and DH's genes!

Cannot get old thread open on my weedy netbook for some reason. I shall have to wait to view MI's dresses as dh is currently installing a new hard drive on my big computer.

Having said that, he and DD were inseperable (and insufferable) 98% of the time - it's just the meltdowns can be explosive to say the least!

Hey MI, if you can rock a red lipstick surely you could do the same with a dress in the right shade of red!

BTM, we weren't volunteers, we were paid - much better salary than in the UK in h's case. I was getting a pretty reasonable salary given that I wasn't a qualified teacher at the time. I saved most of my salary and it enabled me to do a PGCE when I came back to the UK. We could have stayed out there for as long as we wanted as the contracts were on offer long-term but didn't fancy it.

I've collected DS from his week in Megève - he is exhausted! I've fed him, he's bathing right now and then it's Dr Who and bed!

Ha, BTM, he worked for cfbt and it wasn't a third-worldy type job ifykwim. He`d been a teacher for nearly 20 years already in the UK and elsewhere and was not the type to ever do it for free . I couldn't work for them at that point because of lack of quals and experience. (H had job offer and was preparing to move when I met him) I got my job after being in the country for 3 months.

I'm such a Monoprix whore. Particularly the one on boulevard st michel. I have some terrific bits of clothing from there.

I like the silvery one ;it is very stylish but not sure if it will not look a bit wintery in June the shape is lovely though.

Bd I spent my 18th birthday on a beach in Kefalonia . I slept on the beach with my two gay friends , drank ouzo and watched the shooting stars in the complete darkness with the cool water lapping at our feet.
We got off the ferry on a whim and didn't realise we were stuck there for a week as there was only one boat every 6 days! Happy times

Cremo I think there is rather more than one a week these days!
It is quite surreal actually - the season hasn't started so most places are not open, but preparations are being made - 50 chairs in the road being repainted, new canopies being built. It's like watching a stage set being built ready for opening night
