Great links QueenC! I love the mango one. The warehouse one is v cheapSmile

Grumpy, shop linked a great jumper yesterday evening too.

McNally · 29/03/2013 07:31

Morning all! Caught up with this thread and all 33(!) pages of the cake sale one drywhite linked to during DD's night feeding. Very funny.

Amazing jewellery buys novice. Loved the ring especially.

Black, warm, arm covering sweaters still very appealing here too grumpy. Hard to get excited about brights in the freezing cold. The sweater shop linked to was very nice for a more muted colour .

Drywhiteplease · 29/03/2013 07:37

Wow you're good QueenC....... If I were Grumpy I'd be v happy........tempted by £15 warehouse bargain myself

BrandyAlexander · 29/03/2013 08:21

I agree drywhite that warehouse one just slipped into my JL basket.Grin

Thanks Liberty and McNally...I just told dh...it's his credit card so i just told him not to check his Amex online else he will have a heart attack Grin

shopafrolic · 29/03/2013 08:25

Shop, will pm you but about to run out for a couple of hours.

foxysocks · 29/03/2013 09:07

raaaaaaaaar am RAGING at royal mail. just checked my tracking link for the celine and apparently they attempted delivery yesterday at 14.27pm and left a card. well no you fuckers you didn't because I WAS AT HOME AND THERE IS NO CARD

I seem to have arranged redelivery for next week via their automated system but i'll believe it when I see it.

so so so annoying. why are all delivery cos so shocking, apart from DPD and their fab one hour time slots? why don't all retailers use them? the hermes guys are the worst ime, leaving stuff in bins or hedges.

jenny99 · 29/03/2013 09:51

Omg Royal Mail can be sooooo annoying!!! Hope it arrives soon!

Topazandpearl · 29/03/2013 11:53

I much prefer Royal mail deliveries! If I miss it I can pick it up at the local post office, whereas the DPD depot is miles away and awkward to get to. As someone who is out a lot and who can't really have deliveries at work, it puts me off ordering if there isn't a Royal mail option. I guess we all have different circumstances so it is good customer service to offer a choice (iirc Atterley Road do this).

LeFreakCestChic · 29/03/2013 13:00

just bought this
And also got the AR Maison scotch cobalt cords.....what to wear with them? Can't link as iPad can't cope with more than one link at a time today.

shopafrolic · 29/03/2013 13:22

Should probably be posting this on the Frugal thread. Felt miserable last night about our current situation so ordered the yellow bag and a pair of shoes from & other stories (because obviously that'll help and I reaaaaaalllly wanted the bag). Anyway, woke with a guilty conscience and cancelled the order. Halo gleaming, blood gutted!
Lovely scarf lefreak

winefairy · 29/03/2013 13:23

Hermes delivered today but the UPS order I missed yesterday say their next delivery date is Tuesday. Tuesday?

Love that scarf, LeFreak. Can't beat Lily and Lionel.

winefairy · 29/03/2013 13:30

If it's any consolation, shop, I'm not buying at the moment either. Have more than enough in reality and summer up here is so brief I'll hardly have time to wear it all between downpours anyway.

I'm on lockdown until the super-sales in the summer.

Doesn't stop me looking though!

QueenCadbury · 29/03/2013 13:32

shop well done. Feeling guilty about it would take the shine off the purchase.

I'm considering the ultimate sin again tonight by wearing pop socks. Might dig out my fishnet ones though to look like this. Does that make it less of a sartorial sin? Grin

libertychick · 29/03/2013 15:06

I'm trying not to spend much ATM also so this could turn into a default frugal thread. Good decision on the order Shop - you really would not enjoy them if you feel guilty. In a magazine I read recently the person featured had a huge sign on their wall which said 'I have everything I need' - I have taken to saying this to myself as (a) it's true and (b) it seems to take the heat out of that feeling you get when you really want something but feel you can't have it.

I am the wrong person to give an opinion on the pop socks QueenC!

foxysocks · 29/03/2013 15:35

well done shop, i've been there when we had no income, it was awful but it WILL come good again, and there will still be bags and shoes to buy then [kiss]

am out for dinner at a friend's tonight and dithering over what to wear. it's usually just a casual affair so don't want to feel over dressed. hmm.

Drywhiteplease · 29/03/2013 16:37

Oh QueenC when I was into Suzanna and Trinny ( bless them) I had fishnet pop socks= a fashion oxymoron. Felt a bit naughty but not at the same time.
Better look than blue ankles IMO

FrugalFashionista · 29/03/2013 16:41

Good decision Shop! You'll sort things out and find fantastic new things to compensate. Thanks for the lovely cobalt top, I love it and will wear it a lot.

I have a feeling I've reached a point of no return. The frugality experiment is working for me so far - the spending ban feels liberating, not limiting (no to clutter, guilt, regret, disappointments, returns; yes to order, creativity, contentment, sharing). More and more I'm thinking this could be a permanent state of affairs (however, taken a day/week/month a time). Even thinking about a S&B purchase free rest of the year. The magpie in me would promise a substantial reward for all the money, time and effort saved (I could finally settle the Kelly vs Birkin quandary for good Grin ), the zen me thinks the journey itself might be the reward/destination. But still quite unfocused and undecided about all this...

winefairy · 29/03/2013 17:19

Darn. Just broke my lockdown by buying the H&M leather loafers 40 Bum Lady posted about but used the 25% off code stacked with the £5 off which made them a rather bargainous £25 delivered. Yet to be convinced by loafers so we'll see.

santamarianovella · 29/03/2013 17:22

shop, the last time i bought anything was in late feb ,DH is very proudGrin.
i took advantage of the promotion shopbop had at that time and bought lots of spring summer items at a discount.
it will help if you dont associate your current situation with not shopping.i took a peak at your pin board and you have lovely stylish things that work well together.
hope things get better soon.

QueenCadbury · 29/03/2013 17:23

Does anyone find though that the less they spend the more they think about ways in which to wear what you own and more hours on Pinterest? Or is that just me Grin

winefairy · 29/03/2013 17:38

I should use Pinterest more to be honest. My fault is I buy things that don't necessarily go together and Pinterest would be very useful for showing me where I'm going wrong. I buy things because I really love them and not because they would necessarily fit into my wardrobe so it becomes a bit of a mish mash.

QueenCadbury · 29/03/2013 17:39

liberty they were from m&s but now I think about it I bought them to wear on one of my birthdays when pointed kitten heels were in fashion and I wasn't yet living with dh so they must be about 11 or 12 years old!

As we're walking to the restaurant tonight maybe cropped trousers and pop socks aren't ideal. Might get the legs out in shorts with fleece lined tights or stick to a more conservative black dress.

Anyone else doing anything nice tonight?

winefairy · 29/03/2013 17:41

And on the subject....I have cropped white J Brands (linked by someone upthread). Not convinced I can pull off white denim but what would everyone style them with? Or are they a complete no no?

QueenCadbury · 29/03/2013 17:43

wine since using Pinterest I 'vie realised that I really favour neutrals such as navy, grey and black. The bright coloured clothes tht I like I know I would never wear. So it's actually made me consider what I buy and as a consequence everything does seem to go together more. Although even I look at my wardrobe on Pinterest and realise it needs a colour injection!
