WWW's put a spring in your step 10 years younger plan - week 1

Or week 3 if you were already doing it on the other long thread. Sorry guys, I'm on dial up for a brief while and so I've started a new thread, I hope that's OK. The rules, again:

This is not a diet. Being happy is important so the odd drink or something that makes you happy, like chocolate, is ok. As is the odd night of being out with friends and drinking wine/Cosmopolitans/whatever
BUT aim to eat reasonably healthily with lots of fruit, vegetables and fish
Drink as much water as you can, ideally 2 litres a day
take your make up off every night
cut back on alcohol or be smug like me and give it up for a while - 14 days so far and I feel great on it
Walk as much as possible: take the stairs instead of the lift; park a bit further from the entrance to the shops/work; walk to speak to someone rather than email if it's reasonable etc.
Use sunscreen every day
And I think that's it

I have to say I feel great for no booze and for eating well although I'm not doing so well on the exercise front. I am thinking about getting up at 6am next week to walk for half an hour in the morning sun but I'm not sure I'll be able to do it. Maybe, we'll see.

Anyway, welcome oldsters (from the old thread and oldsters in need of a 10 years younger plan) and newbies, all welcome. :)

Moondog, it's addictive - and brilliant. Since I started drinking it 18 moths ago I have been unable to drink tea with tannin in it! No longer get stressed stomach pains though.

WWW and Winnie, sorry I haven't been supporting y'all, but briefest potted crisis history is: terminally ill mum had episode of bleeding in gut and spent 7 days in hideous Angry conditions in Eastbourne DGH, and then my alcoholic sister (who lives with her) consumed 120 units in a week, and is having a full on nervous breakdown so my other sister and I had to kidnap my mum and bring her to stay with me because we couldn't leave her in her own home..... So I have been a bit ashamed to post as I have not had a night without 2 large glasses of wine since 18th May when Mum went into hospital, and I feel really ashamed. Food diary also not good, though the funny thing is I have lost some weight! Anyway, I'm glad to be back, so how is everyone?

monkeytrousers · 05/06/2006 23:39

Can we ahev another one of thse threads now that I am finished studying and have time to think of such things please?

moondog · 06/06/2006 10:59

Ah MT,is everything over now on the studying front? I got you mixed up with Blu last night and asked her about developments on the p/g front which everyone took to mean pregnancy.
A veritable French farce.

CMM,that all sounds dreadful. Sad
As you say,the rooibos is fantastic. In fact, having read your post, have put the kettle on again. To my horror saw that the shop I bought my 'Tick Tock' brand from, had a notice underneath saying it was being discontinued (Noooooooo!!) so bought vast amount in manner of Russian buying up a rare consignment of lipstick circa 1966.

Blackduck,if you want,I can send you the Bliss brochure direct (incorporating special offer for Red readers.Don't know about you but when it comes to browsing,I am olf fashioned.I like paper and pages.)

Well,on a hot day like this,am feeling so glad that I have stuck to looking after myself over the past few months.
Feel it is no mean feat to be wearing diaphanous linen sleeveless dress with a small amount of elan at the age of 39.
Grin

moondog · 06/06/2006 10:59

Blackduck,if you want the brochure,CAT me your address.

Blackduck · 06/06/2006 11:14

moondog · 06/06/2006 11:16

Eh BD?
Wonder why that is?
It's meant to now...
Shall I CAT you?

Blackduck · 06/06/2006 11:30

If you can! (please...)

moondog · 06/06/2006 11:40

My subsciption had run out.
I've paid it now BD,so you can CAT me.
Smile

Blackduck · 06/06/2006 11:49

Done....

monkeytrousers · 06/06/2006 13:57

I know Mooney, I joined in, didn't you see me?

Yes, all's finished and I know I've been given a first for my dissertation but not allmarks are in so don't know yet if I averaged one over the whole year - might have to wait a bit too cos of the strikes. Yikes!

moondog · 06/06/2006 14:00

Oh yes,of course you did.
Durrrrrr!!

You still planning on p/g stuff the?
God,I love that end of exam feeling.
Best feeling in the whole world.
Used to come out, light a fag (in reckles youth, natch)then pile into nearest pub en masses and bring out the paper that someone would invariably have smuggles out of the exam room.
Happy days.

They'll start all over again in Sept. when i get cracking on MSC.

monkeytrousers · 06/06/2006 14:06

Hoping to do something, not sure what yet - all depending on marks which help towards funding. Did the big drink last week - oh never again! Told them all I was 36 (they'd all believed me when I told them I was 27! Ha! Doesn't say much for today's students, does it?)and I smoked a cigarette which made me ill. Urggh. That's my student days over. Grin

moondog · 06/06/2006 14:08

Bet you'll get a first...

winnie · 19/06/2006 13:34
