WWW's put a spring in your step 10 years younger plan - week 1

Or week 3 if you were already doing it on the other long thread. Sorry guys, I'm on dial up for a brief while and so I've started a new thread, I hope that's OK. The rules, again:

This is not a diet. Being happy is important so the odd drink or something that makes you happy, like chocolate, is ok. As is the odd night of being out with friends and drinking wine/Cosmopolitans/whatever
BUT aim to eat reasonably healthily with lots of fruit, vegetables and fish
Drink as much water as you can, ideally 2 litres a day
take your make up off every night
cut back on alcohol or be smug like me and give it up for a while - 14 days so far and I feel great on it
Walk as much as possible: take the stairs instead of the lift; park a bit further from the entrance to the shops/work; walk to speak to someone rather than email if it's reasonable etc.
Use sunscreen every day
And I think that's it

I have to say I feel great for no booze and for eating well although I'm not doing so well on the exercise front. I am thinking about getting up at 6am next week to walk for half an hour in the morning sun but I'm not sure I'll be able to do it. Maybe, we'll see.

Anyway, welcome oldsters (from the old thread and oldsters in need of a 10 years younger plan) and newbies, all welcome. :)

Winnie I had some Champagne on Weds night and half a bottle of wine last night. And pizza. Not doing well really!

Blackduck · 28/05/2006 09:59

Just back from two weeks holiday in Turkey so too much mezze, and beer and wine...but on the plus side loads odf swimming, pilates, LTB, aqua, riding, walking etc.......

winnie · 28/05/2006 10:05

welcome back blackduck... well done you for so much activity on holiday :)

I have lost a pound this week (which is better than nothing). Overall I have lost 15.5 lbs. Today is the start of week six. I am toning Mon-Fri and doing Salsa sessions.

My skin is terrible but my water consumption has gone down and my coffee consumption has increased BUT I am very, very stressed right now.
Will make an effort to reverse this trend this week.

Hope everyone is having a lovely bank holiday :)

winnie · 28/05/2006 10:06

www, champagne doesn't count Grin

WideWebWitch · 28/05/2006 10:09

I drank wine last night and ate crap at work yesterday and feel awful today. My skin is terrible because of stress and I dare not weigh myself since I don't think it'll be good tbh.

Well done Winnie though!

Radley · 28/05/2006 10:19

Can I join please?

I've been following ww for just under 4 weeks and I've managed to lose 1stone.

I've not done as much exercise as I could, but, I'm hoping to either go to the gym, or aquarobics this week.

I've cut down drastically on the alcohol front, gone from 2 bottles of red wine EVERY night to maybe one bottle a week.
I cleanse, tone & moisturise 2 times a day without fail.
I have 8 pints of water every day
I've increased my fibre intake two fold
I've gone veggie
I'm nearly always in bed by 10.30, but, whether I'm asleep by midnight is another matter.

GOD I sound so anal with it all Blush

AND to celebrate losing my first stone, instead of getting something to eat as a treat, I went and had my hair done, 4 different shades of brown with blonde highlights. Looks great and makes me feel great.

WideWebWitch · 28/05/2006 10:21

Welcome Radley, you sounds like you're doing v well. I need inspiring again so a few more people on this thread would be great. I've just had 4 pieces of toast and Marmite as dd didn't want hers, oops. Oh well that's lunch as well as breakfast I think.

Radley · 28/05/2006 10:26

If you don't mind, could someone help me with these two questions.

  1. What is the recipe for warm Py lentils in vinaigrette with steamed asparagus and fetta cheese. It sounds lovely and i would like to try it.
  1. What is the url for the bliss website everyone is mentioning.

thank you

Radley · 28/05/2006 10:48

Can't seem to find the offer with the free bodyscrub on orders over 75.00 Sad

Radley · 28/05/2006 23:24

Done rubbish today food wise, though i've not eaten half as much as I would have eaten before Full Choice.

Today has been shite, dh, the kids and I have all been in ratty moods and spent the day banging doors and arguing, enough to put anyone on a downer.

So now, I am sat with a migraine brewing and feeling guilty at eating the crap.

BUT, on the other hand, I have a box of export in the fridge and two bottles of red wine in the kitchen and I haven't touched both and before I started this healthier plan I used to drink 2 bottles of red wine EVERY night and have a few cans afterwards.

Hope everyone else had a good day!

winnie · 29/05/2006 13:26

Radley, I had a bad day yesterday. I am just too stressed!

Be kind to yourself and count the positives. It is really important that one 'bad' day doesn't ruin the overall achievement. Well done on keeping off the alcohol :)

I am trying to find strategies for dealing with stress that does not involve running to the icecream tub!

WWW, hope you are feeling better today :)

WideWebWitch · 29/05/2006 14:57

Winnie, me too, I posted on your stress busting thread. Radley, well done on the not drinking.

I wasn't too terrible on the food yesterday after my 4 pieces of toast and Marmite I had some raspberries, strawberries and blueberries and roast lamb with roasted veg, then half a bottle of wine and er, some Revels. Oh well, went out and laughed a lot plus got an ok night sleep so feel all right today.
today I've had 2 pieces of toast, some crayfish tails, a low cal prawn sandwich, some blueberries. And tonight we're havign tuna steaks and salad and maybe a walk this pm. I am going to have wine with supper but then not drink again all week.

i keep having good weeks, followed by bad weekends. this weekend, we got a new oven (haven't had a proper working kitchen for FIVE YEARS), so we cooked loads of food, then i went to my sister's 40th party, and ate far too much. now weigh more than when i started this! i have 4 weeks & 3 days before my BIG weekend, and would like to lost half a stone in that time, but have social events every weekend. should i fake illness & take to my bed?

moondog · 03/06/2006 14:47

Radley,Bliss offer was in Red magazine last month.
Re lentil recipe,I'm not really a recipe gal but what i did was make a lemon juice and olive oil vinaigrette. Then cooked pUy lentils and put them in vinaigrette with very finely sliced red onions and fresh thyme.
Steamed asparagus, then tossed it (warm) into lentils with crumbled up fetta.

Weather is fab here in Wales and have a house full of visitors but still doing ok.
Hatting and creaming up every time I venture out.
Must say,the Bliss 'liver spot lifter' has worked really well on my sun spots.

Blackduck · 03/06/2006 14:49

Moondog you need to get on the 'Oh My God I'm pregnant' thread and deny or confirm Wink

moondog · 03/06/2006 14:50

Blackduck · 03/06/2006 14:55

WideWebWitch · 03/06/2006 14:58

I've been REALLY bad, drinking, altohugh not a lot or often but still; eating loads of chocolate as people keep giving it to us (we're stressed) at work and still NO exercise. So I start again today, back on the wagon until 9th July.

2 pieces toast with honey because someone's thrown the Marmite out Angry
a smoked salmon sandwich
raspberries
1 piece carrot cake
a bite of dd's mini milk lolly
some peppered smoked mackerel

And won't drink tonight. I think I'm going to give away the chocolate that's on my desk first thing Monday am.

Blackduck · 04/06/2006 15:22

Whilst I did a lot of exercise whilst on hols that has gone to pot now I'm back and it feels like every mouthful of food and slurp of Efs has landed firmly on my hips/tum and thighs as we landed safely in Gatwick!

kickassangel · 04/06/2006 21:41
