It had to be done.
Phew that feels better.
Over here crepeys. All very welcome (but only if you're crepey).

A seagull took the entire scoop of ice cream off dd's cone on the beach in Jersey once. We were all like this Shock. I can't understand how it did it, ice cream is not exactly transportable.

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2013 19:12

Seagulls are very skilledWink

MrsSchadenfreude · 06/02/2013 20:07

Hattiemattie - yes, but they only had small cup sizes to go with the small back sizes. I thought I had spotted a potentially perfect bra in Monoprix, but they only did a B cup.

My "can't be arsed meal": Frozen boil in the bag salmon fillets from Picard. Frozen peas from Picard. Frozen lemon juice from Picard. Frozen dauphine potatoes from Picard. Fling salmon fillets into boiling water. Chuck spuds in oven. Microwave peas. Microwave lemon juice with a bit of butter. Remove salmon from bag, plonk on plate. Add peas and potatoes and pour over lemon butter.

And for pudding, ice cream from Picard. I bloody love Picard and won't be able to cope without it when we leave here.

Erm, I'm not very good at cocktails. I look at them and then fall over pissed. I should make it there for a little teeny cocktail between 5.30 and 6. BTM, is your mobile no. still the same?

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2013 20:29

Oh Strops, all you need is practiceWink
Yes, same no!

Anyone else care to join us for cocktails? MI are you coming straight from work? Old Queen Crepey and BlackDuck, what time are you arriving? And Herbs, what time will you be released?Smile

CV have you decided who gets the short straw and has to miss out on your presence yet?!

oldqueencrepey · 06/02/2013 20:40

oooh. It's suddenly quite near and quite real this meet up malarkey!
Don't think I'll be able to escape for early drinking.... what time are we planning to meet at the waterloo kitchen (is that the right one... CBA to re read at the moment).
How will I know who you all are??

Pleeease could someone organised post a time and place.
Please could someone kind pm me a mobile (and I'll send mine back) in event of things going awry....

Liking the no brainer recipes!

Tonight we had packet wholewheat tortillas, spread with pesto, then grated cheese, then fried onion / red pepper / chilli / olive combo, topped with another tortilla and cooked 'til cheese melty in a hot dry pan. And salad. Was yum and no moaning.

FUSTERED?? Flustered. Although thinking about it I do feel quite fustered...

hattymattie · 06/02/2013 20:41

DH was most amused when we went to PIL in the Alps and I asked where the local Picard was (it was my turn to cook). Turns out they didn't have oneShock

MrsSchadenfreude · 06/02/2013 20:45

Hattie, are you in Paris too? We could have our own Crepeys Meet up!

Blackduck · 06/02/2013 20:51

Okay I am supposed to arrive London 17.39 - marylebone so will hot foot it across and meet for cocktails - so can someone pm number and I will pm back so I can stand in doorway of cabana (?) texting 'hairy handed trucker here'. Don't call - phone screwed - texting fine,......

Stropperella · 06/02/2013 20:55

Woohoo, BD! Grin

bigTillyMint · 06/02/2013 21:04

Right, PM's sentSmile

Must think about what I am going to wear as I will be dashing back from work and pulling it on very quicklySmile

Am liking the sound of your tea OQC - very quick and easy!

motherinferior · 06/02/2013 21:21

What time are we meeting???

Apart from noodly stir-fries here, another big fall-back (bearing in mind DD1's pescatarianism and our frequent shortage of time) is couscous - which is virtually instant, as all you have to do is pour in an equal volume of boiling water and cover and leave - with finely chopped pepper and tomatoes (possibly cucumber) and (frozen) chopped parsley, with dry-fried hallumi cheese. I stir through eye-watering quantities of rose harrissa too Grin

FlouncingMintyy · 06/02/2013 21:42

Arf at self de-lurking to post about seagulls and icecream. Got swept along by all the stories and blurted.

herbaceous · 06/02/2013 22:15

Mintyy - perhaps your seagull was armed with an ice cream scoop?

Re crepey meeting, won't be able to escape until 6.30, at which point I shall hotfoot (or hot tube) it to meet you. And try not to get lost. With you approximate 7.30.

What to wear? Oh lord. I may try to wear something from sainsburys, and you have to guess what.

bigTillyMint · 07/02/2013 07:42

MI 5.30 for cocktails, 7.30 to eatSmile

Grown ups? You didn't tell me you are grown ups?!
Oh Stropps do come, I will (probably) stay on a mocktail or I will be under the table by 7.00....

Stropperella · 07/02/2013 09:31

I'll be there for cocktails and will just save time by apologising in advance for talking drivel (which is, ahem, quite possibly something I do anyway, with or without the aid of drink Grin )

wilbur · 07/02/2013 10:31

Envy Envy at meet up. Would so love to come and catch up and meet OQ and BD. Think of me getting pissed and slightly over-competitive at the schoool PTA quiz night. Although we have got a new local teenager (took a while to flush one out) babysitting who seems very lovely and lives right across the road. Marvellous!

Am wearing new black skinny jeans from Urban Outfitters in USA which are v v good. Highish in the waist without being mumsy and have bought the extra long leg so I can roll them up for ankle-showing, or keep them long for over heels.

herbaceous · 07/02/2013 11:27

Ooh I get slightly pissed and over-competitive at quiz nights. But I did win the last one, so maybe it's a good strategy. I bet a crepey team would wipe the floor at such an event!

Oh I love a good pub quiz! Just warning, may not stay late tomorrow night as up mega early on Saturday and at my advanced years I just can't burn the candle at both ends any more ;)
I'm Confusedthat MrsS and Wilbur won't be there. How about CV? You ditched your colleagues for better company Wink

bigTillyMint · 07/02/2013 17:09

Yes, shame about the non-attendersGrin

ruby, does that mean you are edging towards a grey and colour mix? I bet it will look great.

I will also talk rubbish, but I will drink lots of cocktails to cover it upWink
