I'd love to be able to wear skinny jeans with a loose sweater on top, but my boobs are massive and the sweater just ends up hanging in a most unflattering way. Then I do look pregnant.

Are tunics even still about? I've seen long jumpers and jumper dresses. When does a long top or short dress become a tunic?

FeuDeSnowyRussie · 05/12/2012 15:14

Hmm, I hate necklaces. And wide-fitting stripes sound so flatterin Hmm Grin

Themumsnot · 05/12/2012 15:14

Skinnies look crap on me because I am bigbummed hourglass.
Jumper dress and opaques fine, but not much different from the condemned tunic and leggings.

FeuDeSnowyRussie · 05/12/2012 15:15

g

HullyEastergully · 05/12/2012 15:16

Then what use is it Djembe?

If you're young and thin you don't need S&B, you look good in a plastic bag you horrible old cow

HouseOfTinsel · 05/12/2012 15:20

"Tunics and leggings are only one step away from pyjamas"

And that's a BAD thing??? Confused

Why suffer in uncomfortable, restrictive, ride-around your body clothing when the high street (for once in its effing life) has given us lovely comfortable, practical, washable, non-iron alternatives.

laptopdancer · 05/12/2012 15:21

I find scarves and neclaces look ridiculous on me as Im small framed (albeit fat)
and I dont get on with knits or T';s or anything that clings

and I NEED a below waist coverage...if I had one

jumper dress...hmmm frumpy

Megatron · 05/12/2012 15:24

Well I am wearing a fleece today. Not just any fleece, a big fuck off fluffy fleece and I care not a jot! I look sensational. (obvs)

FunBagFreddie · 05/12/2012 15:25

Some jumper dresses are frumpy, but I've also seen nice bodycon ones. I'll not be wearing the bodycon ones though, as I can't find any exercises to lift my saggy arse. It used to be so pert - sob.

GwendolineMaryLacedwithBrandy · 05/12/2012 15:25

I don't give a toss what S&B think, which is why I hardly ever post here. In just interested to see what people think I should be wearing. You're all so quick to say what not to wear.

ClaraDeLaNoche · 05/12/2012 15:43

I think I need to get my tunic checked. voila

Is there any hope?

Lovecat · 05/12/2012 15:43

HAH!

I came here last year feeling frumpy at 45 and was URGED to wear leggings, flat boots and a tunic top! (size 14, apple shape, great legs). URGED!

Now I see it was all a plot to make me look mumsy... well too bad. I look fecking excellent in them, even if I say so myself.

Anyone who recommends wide short sweaters to anyone over a size 8 wants shooting anyway....

laptopdancer · 05/12/2012 15:45

I dont actually think jumper dresses are frumpy :)
I look like a sack of spuds in them but Ive seen some people look lovely in them.

MariaMandarin · 05/12/2012 15:52

I live in djembe's suggested outfit - skinny jeans, man's cashmere jumper and ankle boots. I am thinnish but I am really, really not stylish. It's not what you wear, it's how you wear it. Tunic wearers look a lot more stylish than me I guarantee it.

Amblin · 05/12/2012 15:57

The blunt answer is if I were size 22 I personally would go on a diet. So I can't advise what to wear.

OP posts:
laptopdancer · 05/12/2012 15:58

er, what if you were size 12 or 14?

Amblin · 05/12/2012 16:00

I'd wear a jumper. Not a tunic. That's all.

They are cake enablers. Jeggings too.

Noddy suggested this once and she was right. Those stretchy waistbands made me put on a stone of lard

lol at you horrible old cow. Grin

I don't like idea of statement necklces. What statement am I making? That I am the type of person to wear costume jewellery?

I also don't like jaunty scarves. I think they make you look like a twat from the Apprentice.

I don't accessorise at all really

FunBagFreddie · 05/12/2012 16:02

Good god, I hate costume jewellery too, especially the large stuff. Why do people bother?

I don't accessorise either, it's flouncy bollocks and as soon as I put it on, I want to immediately rip it off.

Amblin · 05/12/2012 16:02

I wore one the other day. Made a hell of a row.

OP posts:
GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 05/12/2012 16:05

I saw a photo of me recently taken in something like 2003 where I had wooden earrings on which were shaped like parrots. Parrot shaped earrings. This is why I do not wear costume jewellery, I am not to be trusted.

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 05/12/2012 16:05

Is it scarves or scarfs?

Amblin · 05/12/2012 16:05

Lol. I know. We all have moments of weakness.

OP posts:
Amblin · 05/12/2012 16:07

Scarves

GetorfsaMotherfuckingMorrisMan · 05/12/2012 16:09

I could write a very long list of the monstrosities I have mistakenly bought, I think we all could.

Top of the list for me would be a boob tube with military pockets details.

AND every one shouldered dress (with or without ruffles and frills) I have bought in the mistaken belief that somehow I should dress like Andrea Redfern.
