Uggs - are they really that bad?

After a class war broke out on another completely unrelated thread, it came up that UGGs are considered a serious no-no on MN. I must confess to owning two pairs (one black and one brown) and as a WFHM I wear them all winter provided it is dry. They are the comfiest, warmest shoes I've ever had. They are like slippers but for outside! I don't wear them on the outside of my trousers, this is a look I don't like, but inside a boot leg I consider them harmless.

Am I deluding myself and walking around in the winter version of crocs?

I'm sure we can all agree on one thing, there is never an excuse for Crocs. Yes?

your posts are odd,the third person narrative, backs out, turns and flees
you're writing on mn, not stage direction of film noir
you need to be less histrionic

Scottish that is generally how a lot of people write on MN.

And you do use commas and spaces oddly, to fair.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 24/11/2012 17:53

To BE fair even.

OrbisNonSufficit · 24/11/2012 17:56

I'm with you on crocs squoosh... when I'm in charge of the world I will be banning them as one of my first edicts.

Scottish would you like to buy my ugg boots?

scottishmummy · 24/11/2012 17:58

really?I've not seen a lot of third person faux stage direction posts
and you're not posting in that style ariel?
but certainly one should post however one wants, and if one wants to suggest backing away and fleeing, so be it

woohoo, two folk disagreed with me,and on this basis you recommend stop posting
if We all stopped posting anytime someone disagreed there would be no posts on mn

its a very peculiar style of posting.directing in third person,
attempting to impart additional info in creepy wee brackets
pretentious in a really luvvy or maybe luffly manner

Zara1984 · 24/11/2012 18:10

WTAF happened on this thread since I last checked it?!

People that wear uggs are not trying to be WAGs or anything dreadful like that, what a Hmm thing to say. I just don't like uggs outdoors because of the slipper thing! And because surely your feet get wet in most styles if its been raining, unless you wear rubber soled ones?

I love my ugg and non-ugg wearing friends equally Grin

Zara1984 · 24/11/2012 18:13

Also do people wear socks with their uggs? Don't they get smelly on the inside after a while if not? I've had sheepskin slippers and my they got smelly after a while, because your feet are so warm in them.

SomersetONeil · 24/11/2012 18:13

I'm Antipodean - 30 years ago Uggs were slippers. To me, going out in them is akin to nipping to Tescos in pyjamas, so in that sense, they do have the whiff of the c-word about them.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 24/11/2012 18:13

Almost as peculiar as using random punctuation marks :)

You're just cross because Scotland lost to TONGA

scottishmummy · 24/11/2012 18:17

if you knew anything about Scottish fitba you'd know the national team couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo
directing self in third person for emphasis, it is pretentious
frankly something to say,say it,not piss about with creep wee brackets

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 24/11/2012 18:19

Sorry?

scottishmummy · 24/11/2012 18:23

you wrongly assume I'm cross, or annoyed at Scottish fitba result
I'm putting you straight scots football fans assume the worst, and get it
