Uggs - are they really that bad?

After a class war broke out on another completely unrelated thread, it came up that UGGs are considered a serious no-no on MN. I must confess to owning two pairs (one black and one brown) and as a WFHM I wear them all winter provided it is dry. They are the comfiest, warmest shoes I've ever had. They are like slippers but for outside! I don't wear them on the outside of my trousers, this is a look I don't like, but inside a boot leg I consider them harmless.

Am I deluding myself and walking around in the winter version of crocs?

Incidently, I think it may be that the young uns are definitely moving away from Uggs... DD(will be 18 in march) has had several pairs. But this year she has mostly worn red patent DMs.

Which is a bonus for me, as they're cheaper.

I bought some DMs. They have some sort of warm fleece inside. I'd live in them if I could.

You have to admit his cheekbones have stood the test of time though. Holding up all of that saggy skin is no small task.

Have you read the responses by some of them, particularly the cliquey ones??? Some of them are very weird about the oddest things.
