High waist slim leg jeans from Next are the best I've ever had. Very flattering. Slimming without being constrictive. They are excellent if you have a bit of a tummy because the zip and buttons sit higher and don't bulk you out out front.

No gap and they stay put. Tried to get another pair but it has weeks waiting on my size now. Grrrrrr.

I have been searching for new jeans all evening as I too cannot really wear skinny jeans, my rugby legs curvy calves hinder this process.

If I wear straight jeans they end up looking like skinny ones, if I wear boot cut they only flare out right at the ankle making me look ridiculous.

I am desperate for new jeans as all my trusty ones are wearing a little thin Hmm

I am 27 and still rocking the bootcut.
Yes I have the odd pair of skinnies, but I love my bootcuts the best

Juan the slim leg ones don't cling. Try them. You might just end your search like I have. I am a size 14-16 and 5"3 with 28inch leg, so the petite length was perfect and the cut worked for my less than slender calf.

"What you absolutely must do is get the cut that suits your shape the most. Being drawn to the wrong cut because it's more trendy etc is a trecipe for disaster.
You will look terrible and feel terrible!"

Spiced - what size are you? I ask as I think it has an impact on whether you can wear skinny flares. Skinny flares have a lot of material around the ankle. Now this is probably all well and good if you are VB and have a space between your legs at thigh level and therefore a large gap by the time you get to your ankles but if, like me, you are a size 16 pear, then your legs are just too close together to accommodate all of this material which means it brushes together as your walk creating an annoying noise. I lasted one weekend in mind before sending them to the charity shop. And now I'm back in my trusty bootcuts sending covetous glances at all of the other mums in their skinny jeans who I feel are pitying me either for being so off trend or just for being a short, fat, pear-shaped person
