wear them over summery trews, stops the gaping problem and looks younger imho.

NP please think again about that Charles Thingy one. It is hideous :) It looks just like a nurses uniform and it is linen which means massive creases (unless you are prepared to simply stand and pose :) ) A white one would be better than that foul pink, you could wear tan leather accessories with it like flip flops and beaded belts etc.

I am going to have to try these things on I think, as I am still not convinced they are for me. I like the idea of them, but I have a horrid feeling they will a) need ironing to look nice and I don't DO ironing, and b) look horribly creased anyway after a day at my desk or on the tube or in meetings. So that means a strechy one or jersey and then I think the styles are a bit naff. Hmmmm more thinking needed, and a shopping session planned :)

motherinferior · 22/03/2006 16:24

I find myself not pleased with the idea. I'd just look frumpy, I know I would.

CarolinaMoon · 22/03/2006 16:38

anniemac, I started doing that with a Jane Norman one that was frankly indecent due to riding up and the buttons at the front being pulled apart by my humungous behind.

so yes, shorter and tighter styles prob best, also not-to-heavy fabric.

snafu · 22/03/2006 17:00

The Full Circle one is luscious but I fear I would look like Olive from On The Buses in it.

FrannyandZooey · 22/03/2006 17:15

I have picked two up v cheaply, a military style one from Matalan, and a more floaty one with a sash from New Look. Neither of them that crisp 50s look which I really like, but both nice.

nailpolish · 22/03/2006 18:10

Cod - I really like the circle one too. Please let us know if you find one hereSmile
Mind you the rest of that site is pretty scary!

FrannyandZooey · 23/03/2006 08:18

I am wearing mine today. It is the stretchy tight kind and I have had to put a pair of trousers on underneath - I don't know how else you could wear it, your a*se would be hanging out all the time. Or is that the idea?

nailpolish · 23/03/2006 08:34

is it really short FaZ? or tight

FrannyandZooey · 23/03/2006 08:35

Erm, both I think. It is mid-thigh when standing up. I couldn't sit down in it without doing a Sharon Stone if I didn't have trousers / thick tights underneath.

nailpolish · 23/03/2006 08:37

i suspect a lot of them are short

i want to find a nice safari one
