WWW's six week ten years younger plan, WEEK FOUR

WideWebWitch · 20/03/2006 09:18

Good morning all, welcome to week 4! A reminder of the rules:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well, eat fruit and veg
Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen at ALL TIMES
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night
Use handcream and join the horned hoof club on their thread if you have vile feet

Suzywong is Harvey from Fit Club and will pop in every now and again to say Good Luck to You but in her absence: Good Luck To You.

I've had 3/4 bottle of pink Champagne and three fags.
Grin

motherinferior · 24/03/2006 22:37

I dined off cold chicken and stir-fried pak choi with cashew nuts. It was actually a pretty virtuous day, food-wise, if one ignores the chocolate biscuits, well, yes, sort of, really...

Callmemadam · 24/03/2006 23:03

moondog, you're a babe! Now get over here and have a fag on the bench: I have just drunk too much of M&S's really scrummy pink Sancerre (ignore gopping Mothers Day tag round its neck, the wine is great!) and as a result (oh, the shame) had a chocolate........hey ho

Blackduck · 25/03/2006 09:20

pasta for tea, and half a bottle of very nice red wine ..... (which is good for us on a Friday night:)

Haven't eaten any chocolate or crisps for at least two weeks now - feeling very smug.....
Must get the water thing sussed thou'

Caribbeanqueen · 25/03/2006 09:31

I only seem to be able to do one thing at a time. Last week I had no alcohol at all, which was amazing. This week I had 3 alcohol free days.

Not done too well on the eating front, but next week should be better as dp won't be here to sabotage all my efforts. Hopefully I'll be able to do some walking as well.

winnie · 25/03/2006 13:26

so much for looking after myself... I have been in bed since thursday evening; spent 36 hours with a fever and vomiting Angry Body hurts like hell and my throat is like sandpaper but am feeling well enough again to have laptop in bed with me

Moondog, you've proved your human afterall Wink

Batters, the rain and the sunscreen made me smile. You'll get the last laugh Grin

Well done everyone...

If we are going to do this again can we please do it in another 6 week batch as it seems much less daunting and attainable?

WideWebWitch · 25/03/2006 13:27

Oh poor you winnie. Yes, I will do this again once this lot of six weeks is up, I've a long way to go to get 10yy!

dinosaure · 25/03/2006 13:30

Gah! I was doing REALLY well, then fell off the wagon spectacularly last night. Now have red wine hangover, feel grotty! DH and I drank 1 1/2 bottles between us, which once upon a time would have been a quiet evening, but I just can't hack it any more!

Still, I bumped into the DSs' old nursery teacher during the week and she told me I was looking "sprightly". Although isn't thath the sort of thing you say about old age pensioners...

WideWebWitch · 25/03/2006 13:32

Sprightly, hmm, yes, dodgy word that isn't it? As if you should by rights be hobbling but seem to be walking by some miracle.

OP posts:
dinosaure · 25/03/2006 13:34

yes....

hmmmmm

back to the drawing board then

motherinferior · 25/03/2006 19:16

Not sure about today's virtue, frankly, as it involved a chocolate brownie, probably not enough fruit/veg, not much exercise (am on own with kids - even tomorrow's 'swimming' excursion won't count for much)...BUT a friend told me I had very nice skin today and asked me if I always wore sunscreen, which I reckon is VERY gloat-worthy.

winnie · 26/03/2006 09:57

third day in bed :( children brought me breakfast in bed (including huge bowl of freshfruit & yogurt) and I just couldn't face eating any of it
:(
don't think I will be doing much exercise this week my ribs hurt so much

am still cleansing though & drinking copious amounts of water... Grin

hope everyone is enjoying mothers day and doing lots of nice indulgent things :)

moondog · 26/03/2006 10:34

Poor you winnie. Get well soon!
I am trying to digest the disastrous sourdough bread that I made.
God,it's like a bloody boulder in my guts.
Will have to lie on sofa all day I think to get over it.
No treats for me today-dh still in Turkey.
Has however informed me that he will book us all flights to Martinique for Christmas as my sister has just got a job there.
Pretty cool huh???? Grin

tigermoth · 26/03/2006 10:43

winnie, sorry you're feeling yuk.

just gatecrashing this thread to say thanks for your message to me a while ago (on an education thread) about dh's dad.

winnie · 26/03/2006 10:49

oh, tigermoth how are things with dh's dad?

thanks moondog.

yoyo · 26/03/2006 20:50

Not had a good few days. I am having friends for supper tomorrow so will do my best to get back on track. Can anyone suggest a simple menu with fish as the main course (no fishmonger locally so will have to be supermarket stuff)? It being a school night I really don't want to make anything elaborate. No shellfish either.

WideWebWitch · 26/03/2006 22:41

Yoyo, Nigella's salmon is easy peasy and take 2 mins, hang on, have def posted recipe here before.

OP posts:
moondog · 26/03/2006 22:43

Yoyo,I steam salmon in a bamboo thingy, eat with brown rice and spinach with a dressing of soy, sesame oil and rice vinegar.

WideWebWitch · 26/03/2006 22:46

So if you're 4 weeks into a 6 week plan to look 10 years younger...

how many years younger do you look now Grin?

I had 6 (count 'em) alcohol free days last week and I sure did feel the benefit. Though I am slightly tiddled on my second glass of Mother's Day wine right now...

tigermoth · 27/03/2006 07:47

winnie, things are ok in the short term but not in the long term. Thanks for asking. x

winnie · 27/03/2006 09:47

I am still ill and off to the drs this morning.
