Good morning all, welcome to week 4! A reminder of the rules:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well, eat fruit and veg
Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen at ALL TIMES
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night
Use handcream and join the horned hoof club on their thread if you have vile feet

Suzywong is Harvey from Fit Club and will pop in every now and again to say Good Luck to You but in her absence: Good Luck To You.

congrats WWW - what will you be doing?

WideWebWitch · 23/03/2006 15:09

I have eaten
1 piece toast with marmite
1 piece with marmalade
1 piece with strawberry jam - oops to all the above but hey
half an avocado
a banana
3/4 of a tin of organic tomato soup
2 small squares of 70% cocoa chocolate and I've walked two and a half miles with a friend, wearing sunscreen all the while and swiggging water.

I do think I might have fizz tonight, I'm so relieved and pleased!

Oh, go for it, girl. And once in your new job you can take in a Virtuous Sandwich, dammit.

My IBS has abated a bit - pilates helped a fair bit, as it makes you move the abdominal muscles. Have teetered a bit with virtue-value of today's food but ate lots of fruit. And a fair bit of water. No swimming now till some point next week when I'll have to carve it out of the day and catch up later, chizzzz.

What do you think of \link{http://www.livingnature.com\this lot?} I had a rather divine facial using the products (and a masssage! AND a foot massage) recently.

moondog · 23/03/2006 16:35

I didn't know you had IBS MI.What a bummer (literally no doubt).
Have you experimented with your diet to relieve symptoms?

I've been to the gym and run 5k (reloaded iPod,am presently bouncing my norks to 'Rock the Casbah' and 'Dancing with myself' Billy Idol. V motivating-have to stop myself punching the air in manner of American Little League Parent)
Also walked 2 miles to school and back

Muesli banana yoghurt
Oatcakes Tomato, celery and avocade slad with chilli lime and coriander
Dried figs Apricots

Tonight will have tofu, noodles and greens.

motherinferior · 23/03/2006 16:44

Moondog, I've now got a fairish picture of what triggers it - I'm absolutely fine with wheat but oats are not good, and this particular bout was the result of a couple of mornings eating porridge (we'd run out of multigrain porridge whose low level of oatitude I can cope with). Also not good with lots of soy. Or fizzy stuff (NYE champagne had its retribution). Or weak coffee.

Hardly surprisingly it was at its height when I was a vegetarian, tofu-munching, coffee-swilling, beer-swigging student. No wonder I had a crappy body image - quite apart from anything else I had a painful bloated stomach to contend with quite a lot of the time Grin

moondog · 23/03/2006 16:50

Oh that's bizarre.
People always make out wheat to be the bad guy don't they? (Don't believe it meself)
lol at oatitude.

Hey,I am making sourdough bread tonight.
I've made my own 'mother' (bubbling in the garage as I speak) so it will be intersting to see how it goes.

My cousin staying with her children tomorrow night so the fridge is full of fizz. May have a few fags too. Grin

ButternutSquash · 23/03/2006 20:29

Hey, weren't you all up rather late yesterday? Grin

ButternutSquash · 23/03/2006 20:34

Moondog, how long does it take you to run 5k? I run about 30min but have no ideas what distance that represents.

ButternutSquash · 23/03/2006 20:37

Oooh, MI, these products look positively yummy!

Callmemadam · 23/03/2006 20:58

Had headache from hell all day today so no wine and loads of water. Feeling so virtuous I sprayed immac everywhere and now can't sit down Grin Congrats www, hope you are swimming in celebratory bubbles!

ButternutSquash · 23/03/2006 21:28

Oh yes, I forgot, congratulations WWW, enjoy the bubbly! Smile When do you start the new job?

puff · 23/03/2006 21:29

just gatecrashing to say congrats www Smile

moondog · 23/03/2006 22:15

BS,I don't run fast,usually do 8.1 km an hour,so I get to 5k at about 35 mins oe thereabouts.
I'm tempted to try it faster but am such an obsessive person that it would get out of hand...

My aim is doing enough in the gym to feel good in my skin again(which happily,I do)

Ha ha at you batters and the sunscreen in the rain. I put some on before a walk yesterday and my friend looked at me askance and said 'do you always wear that?' I remember another friend on a coastal walk a couple of years ago said 'blimey, do you know sometinhg I don't?' as I applied sunscreen in the drizzle. But sun can damage your skin even in the winter, \link{http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/healthylife/viewarticle.aspx?id=324246\see?} so good on you, keep it up. Well done everyone! Thanks for all the congrats too. I will be working in about a month so off mumsnet during the day but hey, we'll all be looking WONDERFUL by then won't we?

I enjoyed the Bollinger :) but argued with dh :( but we've both apologised this am :) so it's ok. We had salmon and salad for supper followed by a caramel creme egg and a packet of Wotsits, oops.

Hi everyone
I havent got onto the computer at home for ages, busy time. Have had all these targets in the back of my mind but still really the only change I have made is the water drinking. But it feels like spring and I am going to cycle to work on Monday.
Handcream, foot cream, suncream, fruit and veg all OK.
I like the idea of buying one frivolous item of clothing. I may be going for a long stripey t shirt, if I can find one that is not semi transparent.
have a good weekend everyone

Blackduck · 24/03/2006 13:00

Aside fro the wine the other night I pretty good week all round here - still not enough water thou' and generally feeling rundown with the cold and depressed re work situation.....
Still I'll look wonderful!

moondog · 24/03/2006 16:01

Been to the gym again.
Did I mention that I will be getting slaughtered tonight??? Grin

ScummyMummy · 24/03/2006 17:34

Arrgh- have just had the most enormous afternoon "snack" -
(small)box of raspberries, whole 100g packet of Japanese Rice crackers, organic liquorice stick and 4 squares of left over green and black dark chocolate!
That must be about 800 extra unplanned for calories...
Still I feel shit hot today. The majority of my clients are in such top form and the bike shop has lent me one of those odd tiny folding bikes so I've been nipping around town on that which was good fun. And it's the WEEKEND!

WideWebWitch · 24/03/2006 18:24

Scummy, that doesn't sound too bad to me, it sounds lovely. Moondog, enjoy! Well done blackduck and welcome back Soyabean.
Today
3 pieces toast and marmite
5 fishfingers
some prawns
a couple of strawberries
and we're having tuna steaks and roasted veg for supper
with white Burgundy
Also walked 1.5 miles in the woods with ds although forgot sunscreen. Drank lots of water.

ScummyMummy · 24/03/2006 18:44

Oh good, www. It's the boys' sweet day and about 10 chewy sweets seem to have popped into my mouth too... steak and baked potatoes and salad coming up for tea.

motherinferior · 24/03/2006 20:14

I ate chocolate ice cream last night (home made, with muscovado sugar in it). AND ate three delicious chocolate biscuits today. AND made chocolate brownies for trip out with Inferiorettes tomorrow.

But on the other hand have refused booze despite being plied with it by DP, who fruitlessly hoped it would put me in a chirpier mood after yet another run-in with other drivers (I know I'm a crap driver. But I really am not the only one, honest).

I suspect I am very premenstrual today, somehow. Although the bloating has subsided and I don't have permanent stomach-ache. I might even be quite cheery tomorrowGrin

ButternutSquash · 24/03/2006 22:33

Well, I went to the gym today and had a spicy tomato and lentil soup for lunch and a massive mixed salad for dinner, but had some toast since and am currently having some wine. But hey, it's Friday! Grin

ButternutSquash · 24/03/2006 22:35

Thanks Moondog, that's interesting, I don't run very fast myself so probably not far off the 5k mark myself! I suppose I could try running on a threadmill once, just to check, but isn't that really boring? I haven't got an ipod, can't afford to buy one...
