WideWebWitch · 13/03/2006 09:06

Good morning all, welcome to week 3! A reminder of the rules:

Be as happy as possible. The odd night of booze and chocolate is fine
It's not a diet, it's trying to eat healthily and well, eat fruit and veg
Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
Some exercise, walking is fine
Use sunscreen at ALL TIMES
Take your make up off before bed
Get enough sleep, aim to be in bed by 10, 10.30 every night
Use handcream and join the horned hoof club on their thread if you have vile feet

Suzywong is Harvey from Fit Club and will pop in every now and again to say Good Luck to You but in her absence: Good Luck To You.

Thanks batters. I'm hoping bickering is a sign that they're on the mend. Partner has just got home from work and bought haribo back for them- so I am doooooooomed.

soyabean · 15/03/2006 21:31

Good day for me: at home where I seem to be less tempted to eat choc than when at work. Cereal, green tea for breakfast/ veg burger for lunch, 2 cups black coffee (my treat, not giving up)/ spag and lots of veg, 2 litres of water and many many visits to the loo.
Not enough walking, but sunscreen and handcream and WILL go to bed at 1030.
Happy not to be at work

moondog · 15/03/2006 21:38

Ahem WWW,I saw you on the steak and garlic butter thread! Shock

I've had..

soda bread and butter
chickpea,Van cheese, tomato, celery, pepper and coriander salad with chillies, lime and cold pressed avocado oil
muesli,banana,yoghurt
orange
apple

Also swam with my dd.
Feeling good.

Callmemadam · 15/03/2006 22:22

Am ignoring previous post about amount eaten Wink WWW I LOVE you; your sole purpose on this thread is to make no-hopers like me feel virtuousGrin and yeah, joke did make me smile, but I had to mutter it to myself first (how sad am I these days?) so dh thought I was up to something weird........

sin today was two glasses of red wine Sad, otherwise
muesli
handful of nuts and seeds
3 cappucinos
lentil soup
handful of nuts and seeds
tuna with roasted peppers, courgette and sweet potato

Sounds healthy but I am very very tired all the time - could this be a bug? Batters, the yakitori chicken is on one of the Waitrose cards this week but I could post recipe here if you can't get to a Waitrose?

moondog · 15/03/2006 22:24

Cappucinos and vino to blame for that I reckon.
Try goig without for a week.n

unicorn · 15/03/2006 22:28

ok well I have been awful this week.
I have been drinking (after 2 months without)...
have developed spots ( had top lip hairs threaded and left me with spot!) and...
have not exercised... YET!!
BUT....
I did go on a singing weekend (thanks to Rosin)and that made me feel 20 years younger...

I reckon if you do something (anything) that gives you a buzz, Liz Earle and the like would go out of business!!!

hi everyone

i had a great day yesterday, achieved all my goals except being in bed by 10.30. hooray! Smile

WideWebWitch · 16/03/2006 09:33

callmemadam, I know, I've been doing so so badly that I have made everyone else look positively saintly by comparison.

Well done bk, batters, unicorn, soyabean, winnie, granarybeck (virtuous name even!) and scummy. moondog, top of the class, v good. WWW, bottom of class but making everyone feel better by not leading by example so er, that's ok.

Right, well, yesterday
toast
apple
2 white chocolate cookies, those large chewy ones
steak
garlic butter
green salad
mini baked potatoes
claret - but not very much, couple of glasses
G&B chocolate

And dinner was accompanied by a lovely chat with dh, then we watched The Apprentice and 24 so it was a really nice night. Bed at 11pm but dd didn't wake until 6.40am so that's about 7.5 hours sleep so I feel good actually. And because my pmt has gone it's like the sun coming out after a thunderstorm, I am CHEERFUL!

Good on you WWW....
Not too bad yesterday - one and half glasses of wine (geting better at not guzzling the stuff!). Forgot to moisturise thou' and the 5.00 start this morning has left me looking haggered....
I don't think Moondog should be on this thread Grin

suzywong · 16/03/2006 09:50

congrats on the new job WWW

at the risk of sounding vulgar and un-British, I am getting so many positive comments about my new figure that this in itself is a diet. I mean it is incentive enough to keep going and get just a little slimmer and a little fitter (only another 3 ks to go to get to ideal weight of 67k and I'm 5ft 7.5in so that's not Mrs Beckham-ish is it?). I really enjoy exercising and for the first time in my life I am seeing fast and long lasting results.
Going out with my lovely husband tonight to a Thai restaurant and I won't be wanting any rice or noodles just spciy fried fish and meat. And wine or maybe a bottle of Singah.

Anyway, enough about me

Good Luck to You

soyabean · 16/03/2006 11:41

Ah Moondog, this is where I've seen you before!

Have a nice day everyone.

granarybeck · 16/03/2006 11:58

WWW, my names's not entirely virtous, I chose it as it wouldn't let me have lot of names I tried and I was sitting eating a granary sarnie and dringing a bottle of becks!

yoyo · 16/03/2006 12:09

Had an excellent day yesterday and am having another good one today. Still keeping up the moisturising routine (have to get up earlier in order to do it all!), drinking lots of water, big reduction in alcohol, earlier nights and plenty of walking. Have managed press-ups and sit-ups too.

Cereal and banana for breakfast
Apple for snack
Pea and ham soup for lunch
Spag bol for supper (will be more bol than spag and will have a large salad with it)
Aim to have no alcohol and an early night.

DD1 has said that she will come running with me to get me started - it won't look quite so bad when I have to stop every hundred yards! I am going to start over the Easter hols and am thinking of getting a bike too.

granarybeck · 16/03/2006 12:16

yoyo, exercise regime sound v impressive! I am doin well at alcohol reduction (have shocked myself) but do need to increase exercise, am a member of gym but I just need to actually get there more often.

Need to ask stupid question about liz earle cleanser - with the muslin cloth, do you just wipe/scrub cleanser off, or is there supposed to be more elaborate soaking etc?

yoyo · 16/03/2006 12:19

I soak the cloth in hot water and wipe the cleanser off. Probably soak the cloth about three times in total. I have also found that it works much better for me if I really massage the cleanser in so that it is barely visible when I get onto the "hot cloth" part. My skin hasn't been this good in years! Find the ReFinish has helped enormously.

moondog · 16/03/2006 17:21

Hello to you Soyabean! Smile
Got your CAT..best of luck and let me know if you decide to go ahead.
If you really want to you will.

Yoyo,re this muslin cloth thingy...are you using the same one over and over? In between being used is it dried or left scrunched up damp because that can't be good for yer.

SW...well done you!! (said in brisk hockey mistress fashion so as to keep it all suitably British and proper)
Having seen your picture, you are starting with excellent raw material. Smile

Been to gym today, and eaten/eating..

Muesli banana yoghurt
Sushi and melon
Chickpea and spinach curry
Orange
Apple
Mango

yoyo · 16/03/2006 18:20

Moondog - Of course I use a clean cloth daily!! Gosh, what do you think I am like?!

moondog · 16/03/2006 18:30

Ha ha
Just checking..Grin
(Although am sure that some have minging muslins which are just left to fester and cultivate hostile bacteriathus defeating object entirely.)

Yep,ReFinish is great isn't it?

soyabean · 16/03/2006 18:58

Ok getting into the swing of this now. A nice day, not at work and feeling good.
Cereal and green tea
1 black coffee with friends after school drop off
Scrubbed kitchen floor so feeling virtuous. It gave me a backache but I seem to be getting better now (housework is bad for me)
Lunch w dh, soup and bread. Lovely butter but didnt have any pud
Small amount of pizza a dn lots of salad this eve.
Not planning to drink, excepyt lots and lots of water.
Children happily playing with frinds who have come for tea. All good Smile

granarybeck · 16/03/2006 19:28

Thanks yoyo, that's pretty much what I was doing (yes, with clean cloth!Smile), will do bit more massaging in. The moisturiser is wonderful, and it all smells really nice. Think will order some for my mum for mothers day!

ScummyMummy · 17/03/2006 08:10

Was extra good yesterday- ate healthily, drank water, used sunscreen, walked to work and back and went to bed at 10.30. But have woken up feeling all tired with achey shoulders. Not fair! Partner seemes stressed for no apparent reason atm - do you think my shoulders are picking up on that?

Love your name's mix of virtue and badness, granarybeck.:)
