I am 5'9". I now weigh about 11st but was around 11st 6 earlier this year. I am a size 10 now, and at 11st 6 a size 10 was tight, but I could still wear it, apart from fitted dresses and shirts when I have to go up to a 12 as I have big boobs.

I am usually a about 10st 11lb when not pregnant, am 5ft 9in and a size 10, so guess you would be a 12.

I'm not actually 11.6 .....yet! I've made that my target weight (need to lose 1 stone) and I'm trying to envisage what kind of size I can hope to be. I'm a 12/14 at the moment but realistically want to be a more comfortable size 12/14 if that makes sense ..... no more straining zips and buttons :)

At 11.6 stone I was a size 16, probably the heaviest I've ever been.

5ft10 and was 11st3. At that weight I was a 10's top and 12's bottoms (big arse, no boobs). I'm now 10st7, and wear a size 8 top and need 12's for my thighs, but have to wear a belt or they fall down. Weird!

When I was close to that weight (11.10) I was comfy in a 16. Could get into a 14 in some shops.

DS, 2.9, is the same. People who lift him when they're not used to it always comment that he doesn't look heavy, but he is solid.

I'm 5' 8" too, I weight 12.6 at the moment and am a 14 although everything is starting to get rather tight at the bottom and a 10/12 on the top. I lost a lot of weight last year, and was 11.9 at my lightest. At that time I was a 12 on the bottom, and things were starting to be too loose, and a 10 on the top.

Dammit I need to get back there...

I'm 5'9 and when I'm not pregnant I usually weigh about 65kg which is about 10st 3 and I wear a size 10 or sometimes a 12 to accommodate my boobs! I'm pretty small boned but have wide hips and big boobs and a bit of a mum tum

I never understand these threads, I am nearly 5'9 and weight 11 4 I am a size 14 or a 16 in fashions shops. At 12 stone I would be pushing size 18

Am 5'8 1/2 so basically the same height and when I was 11 stone I was a big 14.

Weigh less than 10 stone now and size 10/12. If I go above 10 stone I am a definite 12.

Caerlaverock - I guess it depends what shape you are and where you shop. I struggle to buy dresses because I have big boobs and am always breastfeeding so if it fits me there it swamps the rest of me.

It must depend on shape, and also how you like clothes to fit. I'm not as tall (5 7 1/2) but at 11 st I'm an easy size 12. I am currently a stone heavier and most of my size 12s still fit but are a bit of a sqeeeze.

I think where you shop is a big thing. I'm 5'8/ 5'9 and at around 9st I wear a 10 normally. Now I'm 10st 4 at 20 weeks pregnant I went to shops selling maternity wear and was comfortable in size 8.

Thanks for the replies - it really does prove that height and weight don't guarantee the same results! I am a big-boobed, small-arsed, long legged, fat-tummied disaster shape. I always liken myself to an inverted cheese triangle. Would really love to dress so I don't look quite so menacing as I hove into view - beefy top half above thinner legs.

I am 5'10" and 11st10. I'm usually a 14 - but in Debenhams I can be a 10-12 and in H&M I am a 16-18. FWIW, I'd go by bust and waist measurements in inches rather than "sizes". At least you know where you actually are then! How much exercise I do also makes a difference; if I am toned and fit I can be heavier but smaller.

I'd never be a size 10 at that weight - I'd def be a 12-14. But I have broad shoulders and am very long waisted so tiny tops don't work for me - maybe that's what makes the difference.

Am generally 9.5-10 stone and size caries hugely. Got broad v shoulders which throws things somewhat, size varies from 8-14!

I think bone density matters too - I genuinely am heavy boned, this is not at excuse. At 11st I'd be too thin and at 10st skeletal, 11st 7 is honestly me at a sensible weight, and a size 12.

I am 5'9" and when I weighed 11 stone I was a 10 or a 12 on the bottom and a 12 or 14 in tops. I have big boobs and a small bum, and a bit of a tummy. Apple shaped I guess.

I'm 5'9" and 73kg - size 14-16 bottom and 12 top. Typical pear shape so finding dresses is a nightmare, and I have a small waist so hard to find trousers too! If it's a flared, full skirt I can sometimes fit a 10, but sizes vary so much in the shops I find it hard to know what size I am. My BMI is nearly 25 and I'd like to be slimmer really but because I am tall and have no boobs people usually think I'm thinner than I really am!!
