Shop

I saw this chair in Country Living last year and bought it-

www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70103170/

I so want sofa's and chairs in Josef Frank prints-

www.google.co.uk/search?q='josef+frank+sofas'&hl=en&rlz=1C1GPCK_enGB445GB446&prmd=imvnso&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=-5M2UJv8I8fW0QXD6YDQDA&ved=0CFkQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=677

Charlotte Stockdale and Marc Newson's home in London has amazing Frank sofa's.

And this cabinet-

Fritzi, thanks for the tips on the Me&Em.
Would it be prying to ask for more details on the belted cardigan? I tend to look as if I have forgotten to take my dressing gown off when I try such a thing, so I'd love some tips.
The green is nice, isn't it? Can't really justify having two of the same dress, though. Unless I put it down to French chicness and knowing what suits me... ;)

mignonette · 23/08/2012 21:44

AuldAlliance

I agree they are pricey but I get a decent discount from certain brands via a relative (trying not to annoy anyone Blush so they are more affordable.

I do have some High St bags that I adore- a turquoise suede tote from Laura Ashley of all places, a leather Zara tote and an Alli Capellino leather tote bought at sale price.

I like Jaeger bags also but prefer to buy these at sale because am unsure as to whether the full price point is truly justified.

Hi Ants and Hopefully!

blossoming · 23/08/2012 21:47

ants, get on Health and fitness on Pin. They reckon it's 70% diet, 30% excercise. Great motivational pins anyway. And I lost 4lbs in 8 days on the no junk challenge which I have as a pin. Tough but worthwhile. Thanks for comment re photos. It was such a great evening.

bretonbee · 23/08/2012 21:49

hello loving the links and handbag chat - at the moment I rotate between blue silky snakeskin Alexa for weekends and grey Bottega Veneta for work. Know what you mean about the fastening though mignonnette. Think I would like a small cross body bag but not sure which one yet.....

In other news....I followed fritzi's advice and ordered the Outnet party dress and threw in the navy Houlis. I think they are both keepers (there goes no spend August)...the dress is really cute and a fun party dress although it does have a big split at the back...I think that is because it is slightly tighter across my hips (understatement) than the mannequin but I think it's ok.....will have to get some second opinions but for now love, love, love.

Happy Birthday dauphin and rufus too for the weekend.

Am on the rose too....it's been a tough week Grin

dona the acne swagger - brilliant, I want it!!

ItMakesThePeasTasteFunny · 23/08/2012 21:51

Hi blossoming - please can I follow you on Pinterest? Really want to see your Health & Fitness board. How can I find you?

mignonette · 23/08/2012 21:52

BretonBee

Has your Alexa suffered any rubbing off of the scales or leather? Do you treat it other than waterproofing?

I loved the Mulberry 'Edie' too.

shopafrolic · 23/08/2012 21:53

Thanks Marsha I'm definitely getting there thanks to you guys.
mignonette AMAZING ikea chair. We have a fab chaise (structured not curvy) that has a large spot print in greys and blues which sits well in our sitting room by the window - a great spot to read. Our bedroom is being papered tomorrow and will then be finished. I've gone for yellows and greys - it sounds awful but is cosy and calming.
Most of our furniture comes from John Lewis at the moment but I aspire to much more!
I love our home and it's open fires, stone floors and AGA. I long for a modern beach front home though. We were in Sandbanks in July and I had my eye on a beautiful glass fronted town house. Stunning. Need a lottery win!

MarshaBrady · 23/08/2012 21:56

Happy birthday Rufus! Sorry I missed that.

AmberNectarine · 23/08/2012 21:59

Envy at breton's Bottega!

sansucre · 23/08/2012 22:00

calling trixymalixy

You can work mid-century style in really well into your farmhouse, especially in your kitchen/dinning room - if you've a really simple wooden dining table, it will look great with some Arne Jacobsen series 7 chairs. Am rather obsessed with all things Fritz Hansen tbh, particularly Poul Kjaerhom.

I work with mid-century furniture and it's surprisingly easy to mix into a variety of spaces. I also love Cylinda line, I really want the cocktail shaker, ice bucket and teapot.

I keep meaning to join this thread properly but never get round to it. Plus, sigh, I'm always thinking about clothes and it would be rather embarrassing how much I'd be in here Blush

blossoming · 23/08/2012 22:00

here peas. I get good stuff when I go to 'explore', then 'health and fitness'
Love the handbag chat but can't open all links as on iPhone.

MarshaBrady · 23/08/2012 22:01

Sansucre you know you have to stay Wink

mignonette · 23/08/2012 22:09

Shopafrolic

I long for deep south style covered porch fronted house with sleeping covered porch upstairs.

Your home sounds great and yellow/grey works well. Is it a cool or warm yellow? We have double fronted late Victorian in town. Half landings and steps up and down everywhere. Used to have 15th century beamed and mullioned and it frightened the wits out of me-too dark and ghosty!

shopafrolic · 23/08/2012 22:17

Quite a cool yellow. Seems to work ok. I just want to see how it all blends once the wallpaper goes up tomorrow. If you want scary - our house used to be an undertakers! All good vibes though.

mignonette · 23/08/2012 22:22

That is cool- Undertakers premises I could cope with. I just hated all the beams, spiders nooks and tiny little windows with distorted glass that we were not allowed to replace so we could see out properly.

bretonbee · 23/08/2012 22:31

I know Amber - is this one it was a present when I returned to work after maternity leave with DS...however they wear incredibly well, I have had it almost 2 years, used it 4 days every week and it still looks beautiful, just a softer grey. Having said that mignonette no problems with the Alexa either so far and I haven't done anything to it.

sansucre definitely stay....was just having a look at the French chat which was fun. Am a massive francophile - lived in Bordeaux for a year when I was at university and love French and Italian style.

bretonbee · 23/08/2012 22:33

not a present from work I hasten to add - haha that would be nice

mignonette · 23/08/2012 22:52

sighs over that Bottega......Just beautiful. I can almost smell the leather.

trixymalixy · 23/08/2012 22:53

sansucre I have a cylinda line cocktail shaker. It was reduced to £65 in the HoF sale, but when I got it to the till it went through at £32.50 Shock Shock. I snapped up the other two on the shelf and gave them as Xmas presents. Should probably have ebayed them!

I also have a vintage coffee set that was a wedding present.

My dining room is huge and we have inherited a mahogany dining table that can seat 20 comfortably or more at a squash. I'm hoping the eames soft pad chairs are restorable and they might look quite cool with it.

trixymalixy · 23/08/2012 22:53

Bretonbee, that bag is gorgeous!

mintgreentiger · 23/08/2012 22:54

Gorgeous, gorgeous bag bretonbee. I have a non BV soft woven metallic bag that I use constantly but would just love the real deal. Too many things to save up for!

Have followed those of you I could find on pin, hope you don't mind. Some beautiful inspiration, and not just fashion.

Hope you all have good Fridays and then fab loooong weekends. DH and I are off for a cheeky weekend sans baby. Sadly I am most excited about the 12 hr uninterrupted sleep that I have been fantasising about for months Blush

trixymalixy · 23/08/2012 22:59

bretonbee my gran had an original 1920's flapper dress. I wore it once for a party, my uncle gave it to a charity shop when my gran died Shock . When my cousin found out, she ran there and they charged her £10 to buy it back! No way would I fit in it now.

trixymalixy · 23/08/2012 23:00

mintgreentiger enjoy.

I hope you don't wake up anyway! That's what used to happen to me when I had a chance of a full night's sleep.
