Popping in again whilst wilting inside the holiday house. I know I shouldnt complain but its 37 degrees today, just far too hot for me.

DH is most amused by the complete inabiity of my legs to tan whatsoever - rest of me is quite brown but legs are just as white as they were on arrival. Visited the Ile de Re again today (partly to help plan next years holiday Smile ) and I wore the Gap striped jersey maxi dress which was a good choice.

I have a new favourite dessert. Slices of brioche, toasted on the bbq for a minute, and then add raspberries on top with a couple of spoonfuls of mascapone cream which has been mixed with the seeds from a vanilla pod, icing sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice. So, so good.

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the good weather. Last day here tomorrow. Have post holiday blues already......

AmberNectarine · 26/07/2012 16:10

Right, Bicester purchase report: FC Renoir top in plum, black skinny trousers, pencil skirt, black military shirt and perfect white shirt all from Gerard Darel, LKB Suki dress and sparkly, beaded going out top from All Saints. DH suitably pale, so job done. Will see if I can find more links...

bretonbee · 26/07/2012 16:16

"working" from home this afternoon so could go and watch torch in park with DS. Really fun but so busy!! Nanny had made amazing Olympic torches for DS and his friend so we got lots of comments and were even interviewed by Chilean TV! So hot - wearing white shorts, gold havianas and an old yellow, blue and white Paul & Joe butterfly print top.

iPhone fail

Anyway good shopping amber and I have the same leg tanning (or rather lack of it in comparison to the rest of me) problem ollie annoying isn't it.

blossoming · 26/07/2012 18:31

Oh, I'm back in Chester and it's cloudy and cool Sad

Russianred · 26/07/2012 19:25

Evening all. Have had a lovely day with our friends, splashing in their paddling pool and going for a long shady walk with lots of river-wading. DH is now out at what he's terming 'Angry Man Club' - interested to hear about that one...

Sounds like a good haul Amber. Hope Matches buck up their ideas with regards to the Raoul. How bloody galling.

Icey it is lovely to see you! Sounds like things are coming on apace at your place. How are your lovely DC doing?

Hopefully am glad to hear positive reports about the Uniqlo jumpers. Shall order forthwith - am going for wine and dark grey.

Hope you enjoyed your time in London Bloss and that weather fixes itself sharply.

Ollie dessert sounds particularly good, yum. I'd be complaining in that heat. I regularly have to take moments in the shade to compose myself in weather like this. I hate the heat.

Oh yes, the merino round neck does look good and there are 2 greys - I do love a grey jumper and find merino washes well.

pickledsiblings · 26/07/2012 20:28

patiently

pickledsiblings · 26/07/2012 20:36

Ollie, a friend in work is off to the Ile de Re next week - she is staying in the same hotel that Bonsoir recommended Envy. Glad you've had a fab holiday.

Tipsy Fritzi, you made me smile with your pants of your seat Q. Workshop sounds intense but hopefully worthwhile.

Big wave to the lovely Icey, I miss your DD stories. Must be nice to have DH at home.

ollie Have a safe trip back home!

blossoming · 26/07/2012 21:31

Think it was this top I bought today, yawn.

blossoming · 26/07/2012 21:37

Much more exciting was my visit to the Balenciaga stall in Selfridges. It was really helpful to go there and see the 3 contenders on my arm. 'First' was too small, 'town' was cross body and 'city' was perfect, if only they'd sell me the 'town' cross body strap. Will contact them directly. I'm still not sure enough though. Saw a lovely bag today, ran to catch up with it's owner and saw it had a LKB logo. It must be an old style, it isn't on the website. Saw a lovely YSL on the train too.
Am in a bit of a grump, as it is a. cloudy; b. rural (okay, I knew that before I moved here..), and c. my hairdresser did a frumpy cut Angry

blossoming · 26/07/2012 21:40

this top looked nice too, but it was way too hot to contemplate trying it on.

rufus101 · 26/07/2012 21:44

My leather Massimo jacket is this one MIM
Nice top Bloss, perfect basic. Oooh! Like these leather trim jeans (Imagines with pistols)
Sorry didn't see your Q re MD sizing NY. In tops, I am my usual size 8 or xs. In bottoms, I usually have to size up, and even then, they don't sit right on me. Except for the wonderful "sports" trousers I linked to yesterday. I was an 8 in them, but my bottom half would normally be a 10 there.
Like the sound of that dessert Ollie. The Shred can wait, and you can always fake the legs.
Sounds like an interesting evening for your DH Red. Glad to hear he's in better form.

rufus101 · 26/07/2012 21:46

Sorry to hear about the haircut Bloss. It's a thin line isn't it, when you've straight bobbed hair. (Has happened far too often to me)

IceCreamCastles · 26/07/2012 21:49

Mwah right back at ya fritzi Grin. I've missed you all too-keep trying to catch up but by the time I've read the whole thread there's no time to post.

Sorry I missed your birthday marsha-glad you had a good time and fab that GOS joined you.

Sounds like you had a good day amber

Holiday sounds lovely ollie, if a little hot! That dessert sounds delicious. Dd and I have discovered chocolate brioche and have been indulging in it for breakfast a bit too often.

Oh no MiM- your plumber sounds a bit creepy! Ours was young, tanned and toned-have suggested to dh that we get him back to do other bathroom soon.

Dcs are great. Had to have strong words with dd yesterday as we found she had 'borrowed' lots of hairclips from the playgroup hairdressers kit and secreted them in her sock to bring home. She is too into accessories for her own good Confused

Ds is doing well. Starting to think about solids and whether to carry on breastfeeding or not. Can't make my mind up at the moment.

Russianred · 26/07/2012 21:51

You'll re-style it and it will be perfect Bloss. Annoying though, given that you've travelled the distance. I love the navy Whistles top - have tried it on a couple of times now, but think I have decided this will be my new breton. For the time being, that is.

I swear it was only about a week ago I last posted on here but since then there are about 500 new messages and a new thread! You are all super speedy.

I took your advice (think it was Dona?) and had my colours done-it was a lot of fun Grin but...and I don't know if I'm being silly in being annoyed, she said that I'm definitely soft but I don't fit into a season as my skin is cool and my eyes are warm. So she's given me loads of different swatches and said I'm basically a little bit Soft Autumn (which is what I'd self diagnosed as), a little bit Soft Summer, and a little bit Deep and Cool which is Winter. Should she have been more precise or should I take it as a compliment that I'm undefineable?! There were definitely some good colours she found that I wouldn't have looked at before, and others to avoid, so I don't feel like it was a waste of money, I just feel a bit grumpy that I was hoping for an 'easy' answer. Harrumph.

MarshaBrady · 26/07/2012 22:02

Love those leather trim jeans Rufus and that stripe top Bloss.

I had that Bloss and nearly wept. It was so bloody styled and groomed that I couldn't bear it. It's much better now, and I thing give it a week after the hairdressers.

Icey lovely to hear about your dc. So gorge!

Kaloo not sure, someone here will be an expert.

A really good compliment day today It made up for waiting a week for my hair to be better.

But why can't I find my UTR. This is not good.

MarshaBrady · 26/07/2012 22:07

think

(and disclaimer, I know others have groomed hair and it looks good, just not on me)

Did I go to a bad one? Noooo! She had scary make up on but was very nice...

blossoming · 26/07/2012 22:26

I knew you'd understand rufus and marsha. I'm telling him next time that he needs to sort it out or I'll find a new hairdresser in the same salon.
Like your Breton red!
Sorry it wasn't the answer you wanted kaloo

rufus101 · 26/07/2012 22:40

Was it Frank Bloss? (shocked) I thought you had got it done in Chester. Was wondering why you hadn't gotten it done in London when you were up.(or is it down for you?)

blue2711 · 26/07/2012 22:57

Feel your pain bloss. But marsha's right, it'll be better in a few days and restyled by you.
Hello to icey! Glad all's going so well.
Great Bicester purchases amber.

New season whistles looks good I think. these trousers are very nice and come up very small and skinny.

This weather really has been glorious and loving wearing all my full on summer clothes. Have been wearing the Zara lace shorts with black or white vests and love. Also enjoyed wearing whistles white broderie dress with leopard Gigis to friend's birthday lunch today and the whistles carrie skirt to town yesterday.

Tough few days though; my dear friend's mum has died. Rotten cancer, robbing people of their life so prematurely. Friend is understandably devastated. Saw her yesterday and have never felt so helpless, just terrible. Am just trying to be there for her. Sorry to be a downer.
