Yes, Blot makes me laugh so much.

I am always drawn to those confident types of men. Usually with heartache as a consequence!

blossoming · 06/08/2012 09:55

I love that WC top decam, and the colour of the DVF is just gorgeous.

I am dithering a little over the boots. In as much as I'd like to buy them now, as they are available now, but delivery is from Italy, and I cannot be sure they'll be here before we go away, unless I pay extra for express, but that would mean being stuck in the house waiting for them. I might leave it till September, when parents are home and can accept deliveries [spoilt].

So great to see you back dauphin, we've all been quite worried about you. Your holiday and wardrobe sound fabulous.

I can't wait for my holiday now as the little M by MJ bag arrived (how much do I love Shopbop delivery?). It is so gorgeous, and surprisingly roomy. Will fit my wallet, iphone etc easily. Thanks for choosing it y'all!

Morning all! I have 24h of freedom: DH and DD are visiting the in-laws and I'm going to join them tomorrow. Had so much planned for today and now I am sitting at my desk with a splitting headache and shivering. Just shows that things never go according to plan.

dona I think that place where you live influences a lot how you dress. I wore my strapless chambray jumpsuit with coloured wooden bead necklaces and flip-flops and cotton tote bag yesterday. Noticed that I would fit in probably nicely in Ibiza but I stood really out here.

dauphin Your holiday sounds divine. Hope the treatment works for your Dad and he is not suffering too badly from side-effects.

blue Thinking of you and your friend today. Must be so hard...

ants Loved your account of the Olympics too! Fingers crossed for your appointment today and good luck for your sister.

bloss Those boots are to die for. Buy!

deca Team Bee Gees is so cute. Thought of you today as DH has spontaneously taken a whole week off, wahoo!

mim Good luck for your long drive today!

ollie and pickled Yes, get a Mini. For me it was Roxy love at first sight! Smile

hopefully Ollie and I noticed that A. has the most amazing skin. If there is a HoC magic skin potion, please let us know!

DonaAna · 06/08/2012 10:04

Dylon, salt plus a pair of old jeans and an old cotton sweater in the washing machine - wish me luck!

DonaAna · 06/08/2012 10:17

Ollie there is a bright red Mini on our street with Union Jack side mirrors and black plastic eyelashes around the headlights

Decameron · 06/08/2012 10:21

I love cobalt blue, Dona, enjoy your day.

Shopbop is amazing, Bloss. Glad the bag was a success.

RED3 for 20% off at the WC if you want to buy that top!

Portia, I wonder if we worked at the same company. Ants, glad you took your firm on. Forgot to say, my friend had a breast reduction and said it was the best thing she ever did.

Fritzi, hope you feel better soon. Maybe go back to bed for a while with some hot tea.

MarshaBrady · 06/08/2012 10:23

Dona yes I would not be happy if Vogue disappeared. I still really like it, even though I don't read any of the articles. Just look at it. It's still nice to have.

I think it's completely normal to be influenced by the city. And it's exciting to be in so many! But it must mean a bigger than usual wardrobe too.

MiM I did lol at Blot. Grin

Dauphin lovely holiday, hope it goes well for your father.

I love Maje this season and am narrowing it down to Maje, Derek Lam (a sock?) and a try on in Burberry.

Will do the big recce soon, from Liberty to Bond St to Mount St, Mayfair.

MarshaBrady · 06/08/2012 10:25

oh no ,Fritzi hope you can enjoy your freedom.

MarshaBrady · 06/08/2012 11:02

silk/linen Jcrew stripes at theoutnet.

Actually I would be sad if we didn't have all the magazines we do. I don't always buy them but ones like Ten magazine and Self Service produce high quality imagery. Would not like to lose all that.

Decameron · 06/08/2012 11:03

Just ordered the DKNY sweater and then got a call from my bank wondering if my card had been stolen. Eh, no, it was me!

Lovely new boots in Russell and Bromley in green - thought of you, Hopefully.

DonaAna · 06/08/2012 12:05

Oooh two resounding successes. Thank you Dylon - have hot a lovely "new" navy sweater. Jeans nice deep indigo. Completely even colour, all washes gone - a good new dressy pair (originally bought in 2006!), but won't do that to all other jeans because like their distressed look better. This, however, might be a cunning way of getting a burgundy pair of skinnies - hmmm should I dye an old H&M pair and perhaps a tee?

Oh, and gave the socks+hairdryer treatment to a snug pair of shoes - they stretched half a size and are now perfect, magic, definitely worth doing!

Emo76 · 06/08/2012 12:11

just wanted to post to say hello, failing to keep up with the thread, all ok here had a bit of a scare with DD1 and A&E middle of night trip on Sat but she's bounced back thankfully. enjoying the Olympic fever in London!

for what it's worth, 34E, susbcribe to In Style (but thinking of stopping, not as taken with the layout as I used to be, used to love the interiors/wardrobe maintenance sections of old), and would love a mini once DD2 is bigger!!

happy Mondays all x

blossoming · 06/08/2012 12:55

The boots are on this website marsha. Do you know of it? It is related to Yoox. Thought of you when I saw some of the shoes.

MarshaBrady · 06/08/2012 13:24

Thanks Bloss! I don't, looks good will check it out properly on big Mac.

MarshaBrady · 06/08/2012 13:28

Oh no Emo always scary glad your dd is ok now.

Good work Dona. Dare I risk it in new machine I like the idea.

Dh was very keen on a fiat 500 I felt so squashed and went for a big Saab instead. They do look nice.

OllieinOrange · 06/08/2012 13:36

Am Sad
Arrived at the garage only to find a lady buying the exact model we went to look at. What were the chances of that?

It was perfect as well. Nothing else around that compares to it in terms of colour, mileage, age and price. It was dark grey which they no longer make. DH trying to get me to try an ice blue/green one but now have my heart set on a grey one. Liked its simplicity. Don't want a car that stands out in anyway if that makes sense which the ice blue one certainly does.

Am trying to not to get in a huff - but failing. Time to hit the Dairy Milk.

Decameron · 06/08/2012 13:41

Aw, that's a shame, Ollie.

AmberNectarine · 06/08/2012 13:59

ollie respray?

pickledsiblings · 06/08/2012 14:08

Bummer Ollie. Dark grey sounds lovely although the ice blue is gorgeous and would really go with your eyes Smile. I've been noticing Minis as have been on the look out for one myself and there aren't that many of the ice blue ones around which in my book makes it more appealing - it's not a standoutish colour over here but appreciate it may be different where you are.

Hi Emo, glad DD is OK.

blossoming · 06/08/2012 16:00

I think they stock a lot of the labels you like marsha.

What a shame ollie, silver lining with the Dairy Milk!

girlsofsummer · 06/08/2012 16:05

Ollie respray. Easy peasy.

girlsofsummer · 06/08/2012 16:09

Love the Olympics stories NY and Ants, the Proenza black skinnies the dusky pink Reiss suit hopefully (I may have picked up silk front pink sleeveless top from there)

Decam that is shocking sexist and racist combined. I have been very lucky my industry nowhere near as bad as that even though I do spend a lot of time surrounded by men they are usually behaved.

I am not buying anything. Fridge freezer about to die. Still have yet another airfare to buy and still need a new couch,

Wearing coral blouse and my new navy pencil skirt.

DonaAna · 06/08/2012 16:29

Boo Ollie, so sad. We used to have a light metallic green Chrysler, loved it, such a lush car and always stood out. Now a boring dull black car.

Dyed jeans drying. So successful that will do another round in the fall (will dye my floral jeans black or indigo plus perhaps a few silk blouses) - Dylon do not do a good burgundy but found a lovely range that has fashion colors too. Oh and Marsha our washing machine is almost new - as long as you wipe the rubbery door part well after I don't see a problem. Everything, Dylon do a lot of fall colors.

Style failure today. Saw massive rain clouds and threw on three different smoky blues. End result dull. Denim on denim looks good with bright accessories, the bluish grays look brilliant with white, but now they just looked drab. Saw lots of very stylish people: the best a girl with black skinnies, black blazer, ivory flowing top, cobalt peeptoe flats, turquoise toenails and a chic black vintage bike.

Decameron · 06/08/2012 16:51

GoS, I know! Coral and navy sound great together.

Glad your DD1 is ok, Emo.

You have the dye bug now, Dona!

AmberNectarine · 06/08/2012 17:24

Just tried on this dress in TK Maxx of all places. Super flattering but not really the right colours. Super bargainous considering original price of £2600!
