Had a little splurge in Zara earlier. Brought this quilted jacket in navy to try on at home. Liked the buckle detail and the stretchy sides but not sure if its 'me' enough. Good for throwing on when doing school run etc.
Also picked up a MiMs black pointy shoes, a fab pair of slim fit jeans in a paler wash - leg lengthening and a good fit and only 30 euros and a white drapey T shirt

Also found the perfect fitted jumpers in Esprit. Really soft and fineknit and in a range of colours. Brought the navy and the grey. Cant find them on website but would recommend. Will wear a lot with jeans in A/W.

Gotta run - guests have arrived for drinks.

OllieinOrange · 05/08/2012 15:34

Fritzi Do you sell on the the German ebay site? We dont have one so i would have to use the UK one but would have to absorb extra postage costs. Im never sure if its worth it esp given the type of things I have to sell ie Boden and not high end stuff.

FritziGreenEyes · 05/08/2012 15:40

ollie Yes, I sell on German Ebay only. Great Zara shopping haul! Love the pointy shoes especially.

Everything auction listing is hell - I took a week off work to last summer to do it and to do a major declutter pre-move. Worth doing for some major items such as the Bugaboo, but I did not get enough money from clothes to justify the time and hassle. Hats off to Fritzi though, I buy a lot on eBay and appreciate great sellers.

Possibly coming down with something. Feel all listless and achy. There is a nip in the air - it's bright and warm but there is an undertone of cool fall - the Nordic summer is almost over. Bored of vacationing, normally we book a 'vacation from vacation' but were too disorganized this year. I'd like to go somewhere really exotic - Armenia or Georgia for example.

Amber if you grow tired of your Louboutins let me know Grin

Oaah DH just arrived with takeout Nepalese food...

DonaAna · 05/08/2012 16:09

Sorry for garbled sentences, clearly too hungry to write!

FritziGreenEyes · 05/08/2012 16:21

dona Hope you don't come down with anything. Have to admit that a big chunk of last year's Ebay success came from DH's Barbour duffle coat Blush. Some things are not worth listing, I agree.

every You so deserved a break! Doesn't mean you love your DS less. Can you try to have the occasional weekend off in the future?

DonaAna · 05/08/2012 17:07

Everything I understand... What I would love most is 48 hours of solitude - no DC, no DH, no relatives. I would quickly grow bored of that too (had a work trip in May, missed the plane, got 12 hours of unplanned and unscheduled time alone, did not know what to do Grin), but would just love some peace and quiet. For me it's actually a relief when DH returns to Italy and The rest of us move in with my parents for 3 weeks. They like to babysit, so I have a weekend trip with friends coming up, and there will be a film festival - will get to go to the movies as much as I like - alone Grin

AmberNectarine · 05/08/2012 18:03

SE I just dropped off 2 sacks at the clothes recycling point and have another 2 for charidee. I'm only ebaying the premium stuff (Boden, Joules etc for kids), I just haven't got rid of anything since DS was born so there is masses. Has been such a ball ache though.

Dona if you're a 38.5 you'll be the first to know Wink

AmberNectarine · 05/08/2012 18:12

My best success was my Modalu Bristol after a certain Miss Middleton was seen toting it the day after her sister's wedding. Managed to turn a mistake purchase into an amazing success - made double what I paid!

Other random successes include an American apparel skirt which is still for sale on the website - my couple of years old one sold for more than a brand new one Confused

rufus101 · 05/08/2012 18:13

That's a nice jacket Ollie.
Don't feel bad Everything, I'd be exactly the same. I crave time alone.Even going to the shop for groceries is a treat.
Got this lovely blazer in Zara Great shape, you can't see it properly in the photo, but it has puffed up shoulders, and a lovely nipped in waist, with every nice buttons. Looks £££. Also got very good black skinnies with a zip at the ankle, but instead of it being at the side, it's in the back. Can't find them on the site, but they are a great fit.
Wish I could get up the mojo to ebay. I took a load of pics a few months ago, and DH deleted them off the camera, as he couldn't understand why there were pics of dresses on it. Grrr.
HOpe you're not coming down with anything Dona.

AmberNectarine · 05/08/2012 18:16

And SE, I often fantasise about a weekend away from my two, so don't feel bad - everyone needs room to breathe!

DonaAna · 05/08/2012 18:43

Amber I'll cut off my big toe I still have the Modalu Bristol Peppa Whatever - liked its blue lizard color but everything else about it is all wrong :(

My best auction sell was a bulky Mountain Buggy double stroller - made 450% (bizarre biddding war on a hockey night, future fathers of twins involved) - can't even be smug about it because have wasted an absolute fortune on children's junk (still need to get rid of three strollers - have fantasized about burning them)

Rufus the blazer looks great - strong shoulders are very on trend. I love my COS evil Stepmother blouse

AmberNectarine · 05/08/2012 18:56

I loved that bag Dona, but the fact it needed carrying by the handles as it wouldn't comfortably fit over my shoulder made it totally impractical, plus I could tell it wouldn't age well. Am normally pretty inseparable from bags but Pippa wasn't a keeper.

AmberNectarine · 05/08/2012 19:02

Talk me down guys, you know I'm already a closet fitflop fancier, and these look sooo comfy for racing to work (Louboutins on at my desk obvs Wink)...

blossoming · 05/08/2012 19:17

Hideous amber. No, really. Wink

AmberNectarine · 05/08/2012 19:20

Oh, I know, but don't they look comfy?

DonaAna · 05/08/2012 19:27

Amber FGS!
Bored? Read this and this. Wish Vice would do a "What is frumpy?" story Wink

No amber

!!!

Have had lovely few, if a bit exhausting, few days. Olympics at Greenwich was fab. Great great atmosphere. The volunteers were wonderfull and gosh our armed services are lovely. Was wonderfully unstuffy. Soldiers were joking and clearly enjoying the atmosphere. I can remember going through immigration in New York years ago and trying to crack a joke about my terrible passport phoo and just being stonewalled and made to feel really awkward- like I was going to be carried off never to be heard of again. The soldiers at Greenwich, whilst doing a really important security role, seemed to keep their sense of humour and joy at the event. I loved them for it! Sorry for the gush but the whole thing was so quintesentially British from the brass band to the deck chairs to the orderly queues to the sausage sandwiches to some lovely girls from the NE sharing their umbrella with my DD and me when the heaven opened. Everyone was so thrilled to be there. Marvellous. Also. Get this. One of my colleagues was a volunteer. Apparently all the volunteers had a one day training course on how to deal with the public. All about making eye contact, answering questions etc and the course was run by John Lewis!!! As I said it was all so perfectly British!!!

Anyway sorry for gush.

No real style and beauty to report. All the boob talk interesting. Those of you with elephant memories will remember I am having a reduction on 4 th September. Am currently rocking a 34 f/G!!! Have a meeting with my surgeon tomorrow to discuss last details. God it's really happening isnt it!! Am trying to not think about it as I will so be shi**ting it before I am wheeled in!

Was interested about sexism at work chat. I have worked in financial services for last 20 years and the sexism can be awful. When I came back from mat leave with my DD 7 years ago I found my job had effectively disappeared. All my clients etc. I cant say too much but ended up resigning and taking them to court for sex discrimation.

hopefully. Glad Reiss tip off was helpful. Sounds like you have enjoyed your course.

bloss I am loving the sound of your holiday wardrobe. My Dsis is a winter and is a "jewel" winter meaning that the bright fushias etc work really well on her, like you.

Talking of my Dsis the family is on baby watch. She is about to pop with baby 4. My DH and I are on standby to help with their DC. I am on tender hooks. Was very relieved she did not go into labour last night just after I had done my fake tan! It would have been my lovely Dad's birthday today and I know my mum and I are hoping it's tonight. But in case my lovely sis is reading this we don't mind when you pop really. We will be thrilled whenever!!!

Anyway enough from me.

OllieinOrange · 05/08/2012 20:56

ants What a great day you had. Feeling v homesick watching it all on the tv. Wish Id organised a London trip to experience the atmosphere. Exciting about your sister. Keep us posted.

Was really impressed with Zara today. This scarve caught me eye. Thought how pretty it was then realised it had huge skulls on it which made me smile Lovely colours. Would suit you I think MiM?

I loved this coat here but not the metal studs on the sleeves. Would love something in a similar style in grey.

Looks like waffle knit jumpers are going to be big this season - they are everywhere.

OllieinOrange · 05/08/2012 20:59

Gah, I meant to type scarf.

OllieinOrange · 05/08/2012 21:02

Whats with those funny arm things some of the runners are wearing? Most strange.

blossoming · 05/08/2012 21:06

Lovely post ants. I'm sure it will be life changing for you! What size are you going for? (nosy, feel free to ignore!)
Hi ollie, great shopping!

blossoming · 05/08/2012 21:17

So, to reinforce what I said previously about Pinterest, I am reading Marie Claire, and at the fashion pages I just went, 'don't be so ridiculous' and skipped the entire lot. Not. For. Me.
