Monochrome? Moi? Blush
Goes to show: NEVER listen to a word I say!

Had a great bike ride amongst torrential downpours. Sun is out and drying us off nicely. Need a shower desperately!

alwaysrunninginheels · 04/08/2012 16:25

mrscb when did the look book arrive....still waiting for mine. Bound to be heaps of lovely stuff in it. Also where did you see gap shrunken wool blazer. I really want one after my success with the summer version.

Sunshine wonderful here and tow a long arrived so great bike ride with all 3 kids until oldest feel into patch of stinging nettles. Oops!

Hopefully · 04/08/2012 16:36

Ants (I think it was you?) meant to say, thanks for the Reiss tip - there are approx 50,000 things I like! Will definitely be ordering some bits. I am liking this blazer expecially, but also this suit, this sweater, these boots (although not sure I'd be able to walk in them) and this t-shirt

AmberNectarine · 04/08/2012 17:56

Just bought pointy hot pink Louboutins from local dress agency, bargain!

Russianred · 04/08/2012 18:19

Guten abend. Have had a really lovely, albeit boring, Saturday. Y'know, swimming lessons, playgrounds etc but first day done not feeling ill. Nice. Wearing navy skinnies, yellow ballerinas and emerald/blue/green short sleeved COS knit.

MiM sounds like a great evening. Hope tonight goes well - what's on the menu? I love hearing your menu plans. You are doing amazingly to be having all your work done with a teeny one town into the mix. Just think to your vision a few months down the line. When does the fun bit start?

MrsCB nice Breton link. Have very similar pocketed version from Whistles that I lurve. Am feeling most peeved as I finally came to order the Uniqlo jumper (I know, I know, should have just got it as soon as I saw it) and is bloody sold out in my size. If anyone is planning to pass a Uniqlo soon, please, please let me know!

Sounds like an excellent find there Amber.

Holiday wardrobe sounds great Bloss - will take a look at your board.

Blue, NY hope you loved every Olympic minute, would so love to have been there for something. Anything.

Shocked, but not really, but the experiences of sexism some of you have had to endure (or not - well done Decam). Have never expereinced similar and would lie to say it's an age thing, but know it's because teaching doesn't really attract that (not to say it isn't there).

DH has become a raving feminist and is making bold declarations about how pleased he is for all the women at the Olympics and how well the are doing. Can't wait for Jess Ennis tonight. Mum is also keeping me amused with regular pictures from St Petersburg's fashion front line. Honestly. She'll get herself beaten up by women brandishing 6inch stilettos.

Lovely sunny afternoon in children's museum and parks.

MrsCB I love the Wella Pro Series shampoos and conditioners (particularly Repair and Volume), available in most supermarkets here. They are just right for my hair and I keep lugging bottles and bottles of them to Italy. My hairdresser also approves and doesn't try to upsell some garbage of hers. Wella hairspray is my favorite, I love the light hold one (strength 2), it does not weigh my hair down. The heat protection mousse is also very good. All very inexpensive hence more money left to splurge on other more important things.

Leather leggings will look good on many of you but they are simply not right for me. I look tragic in them - not effortlessly glamorous. Eagle all they way... Want to learn more local slang? This hairstyle is commonly known as chicken's a--- (commonly worn by the more rural variant of the eagle - the one that always dons black 3/4 leggings, rain or shine).

Snapped up a good boucle jacket in Zara (-50%). It's mostly cotton (with a tiny amount of acrylic, but do you know that Chanel jackets have acrylic in them these days - I almost died when I read the labels Confused), a mixture of white and raspberry and fluoro orange. Sounds scary but is a nice bright coral irl. Am sorry that returned the fluoro orange MJ skirt - could do a great traffic cone impression pairing it with the Zara jacket and a white tee Grin. Wore the jacket promptly to the park. It's almost like a cardigan, but I love the structure.

Have worn bootcuts all day. Still looking for the right pairings. Like them with the Zara jacket and my bright pink Goat jacket and MJ chambray tee, but think they need glam shoes - with comfy shoes they are too mumsy.

DonaAna · 04/08/2012 18:24

Ooh Amber - drool!
RR tell your DH that I saw rows of stilettos in size 43 (9!) at a department store here - send him here and I'll go shopping with him Wink

MarshaBrady · 04/08/2012 18:25

That haircut! Great boucle Dona.

Amber take a pic and pin? They sound great. Good find.

The women at the Olympics have been great.

I love Maje this season, the colours are gorgeous.

DonaAna · 04/08/2012 18:31

Marsha I got bored with style hell listings last week but one of the do nots is deffo the chicken haircut... To be fair, Sharon Stone has worn it rather well.
Need to check out Maje. Not that I need more clothes Hmm

Oh and loving the sound of Bloss's holiday wardrobe - looking fwd to the Pins!

MarshaBrady · 04/08/2012 18:37

It's fab, the skirts may be a touch too short. Hopefully not. I love the styling, colours and it made be delete some stuff as it looked so much better in comparison.

I think refined selection is the key for me this season! (ie absolutely no incorrect purchases allowed).

MidnightinMoscow · 04/08/2012 18:48

Yes, Amber - do pin a picture of them. They sound fabulous.

Red, glad you are getting better. Tonight is a real share and tuck in sort of meal, Thai green curry, bbq'ed pork, crunchy papaya salad and then lemon meringue cake for pudding. Hoping the building work will be finished in 3-4 weeks, and then the fun bit! Have decided on Pax wardrobes, as we need sliding doors - cannot wait to organise my clothes again.

FritziGreenEyes · 04/08/2012 21:50

Guests have just left, was good fun and everyone enjoyed the food and lots of wine. Going to catch up on thread trying to find out why Mr Red wants size 43 stilettos Grin Hmm

pickledsiblings · 04/08/2012 23:10

Glad you had a good night Fritzi, we had lots of fun crabbing, caught 15 of the things.

Hot pink Louboutins and forest green JBrand leather trousers sound great (not together obvs).

Blue, I'm not sure about the absence of back pockets on those leathers you linked too, a bit to nakedy - would have to be covered if I had them (not that I could ever in a million years get away with leather trousers/leggings although I did almost buy some shorts once).

Dona, I agree with fab shoes to make baby boot cuts work. Good luck with the indigo Dylon, I'm thinking of doing my blue bonnets after the Summer.

Marsha, I think you should enlist the help of a personal shopper, maybe someone on here will volunteer??

AmberNectarine · 05/08/2012 07:37

God, personal shopper would be my dream job...

MidnightinMoscow · 05/08/2012 07:51

Morning.

Lovely evening last night here too, so good to catch up with our friends. They have a 3 month old DD, I felt really emotional watching P, her dad, tuck her up in the buggy to go home...all concerned she was warm and snug enough. Amazing how children come along and change people forever.

What an amazing evening too at the athletics - more tearful moments, especially when Mo won....it was magical.

Glad you had a good night too Fritzi.

Really wet here today, and the forecast is set for a dreadful week ahead. However, on a positive note we are ordering a bathroom suite today...exciting!

MarshaBrady · 05/08/2012 08:15

Lol Pickled I'd have a personal assistant. That'd be handy.

Amber get in there. You're in a good area for it.

Nice MiM and Fritzi.

Hopefully · 05/08/2012 08:19

God, I would love a PA Grin. Someone to just tell me where to be and when at any given moment, and to buy birthday cards (I am crap at birthday cards).

Absolutely gripped by the olympics last night. Felt a bit bad for the poor old footballers out on yet another penalty shootout, but the athletics was so incredible it was hard to feel blue for them for long! Particularly Mo Farah, just an incredible achievement.

Really wishing I'd booked a haircut this weekend - bob is getting so long and such a pain to style every day.

blossoming · 05/08/2012 08:32

Oh no. I've fallen in love with these boots £££££

OllieinOrange · 05/08/2012 09:00

Running in with Ryan Lochte news. MrsCB and Fritzi I think this will be good news for you as fellow wearers of white jeans and for all of you partial to a mens shirt Smile

The DT blog posted this entry....

The Team USA gold medal winner (above) has already scored a Vogue cover, so appropriately, Women's Health asked the buff 27-year-old a fashion-related thing or two. Mr Lochte thinks personal style is: "really important - it's how your personality comes out. I don't have a set style, but I try not to dress like everyone else."
Meanwhile he thinks women look hottest in: "One of my long-sleeve button-down shirts and that's all. The second sexiest thing: white jeans."

I like him a teeny bit more now!

Hopefully · 05/08/2012 10:42

Where can I look for a cotton shirt? Ideally would be oyster coloured, but would settle for some variation on the theme of camel/bronze/copper colours, or even a deep teal/petrol/navy. Or, actually, anything. Finding it hard to find something suitably crisp that isn't white or striped.

Hi all! Having a great weekend camping. Mostly sunshine with a couple if torrential downpours that have priced that our tent is completely waterproof. Dd loving playing with all the other children and we are drinking wine with friends and occasionally retiring to the pub to watch the sport. Inspired by Team GB I did a great run in the sunshine this morning. Lovely 10k in the sunshine to atone for the wine sins.....

FritziGreenEyes · 05/08/2012 13:51

Feeling very fragile and headachy today. Have eaten lots already Blush. I am currently listing lots of my old stuff on Ebay. So boring...

AmberNectarine · 05/08/2012 14:42

Snap Fritzi am on an eBay marathon, work way through the kids stuff before moving onto mine. I will find their Winter coats and something from my A/W wishlist. I had better cos I have been at it for 3 hours already.

FritziGreenEyes · 05/08/2012 14:56

amber Brew As much as I hate the listing and schlepping to the post office, I am really motivated to sell old stuff. I made almost 1000 Euro last year selling unwanted stuff. Freeing up space is just so liberating!
