I am 33 and this is dress from Asos (Awear)

cat dress

I've tried it on with my skinny jeans and some dark red round toe heels is v flattering shape wise looks nice but then I have a crisis of confidence - is it just for the young trendy ones It is a little bit "fun" and not very sophis ? I'm worried people may think "mutton" or some such similar in the pub on Friday night?

I loved it until I saw the print up close. Not sure I like the print...

Yama · 18/07/2012 17:06

I would wear that and I'm 36.

Yama · 18/07/2012 17:07

I wouldn't wear it to work though.

dexter73 · 18/07/2012 17:09

I love it. However, I showed my dh this shirt which I liked and he told me I was one step away from getting a wolf fleece so I may not be the best person to take advice from!

smellylittleorange · 18/07/2012 17:10

Yeah see alloverit I love the print but that doesn't necessarily mean it looks good lol!

Thanks Yama just a little bit worried about "pussy" comments from drunken old farts

Love it and very tempted to buy it! I'm 33 too.

If you like it and feel confident in it then don't worry about it.

DinahMoHum · 18/07/2012 17:11

i love it. Have you tried it on? whats the sizing like?

scentednappyhag · 18/07/2012 17:13

Definitely not mutton, it's really cute. I'd be inclined not to wear it with jeans though, I think the length would be more flattering with bare legs/nude tights.
And drunk old eejits will always find something to make a comment on, ignore ignore ignore!

smellylittleorange · 18/07/2012 17:16

No I did buy it purposefully NOT to wear to work - I dont want to mix my clothes anymore. Although I think my boss was wearing this dress the other day Hmm

See I love the dog print blouse dexter73 I love print and pattern that's my problem but what it looks like on is a very different matter (unless you are a skinny minnie 17 yr old)

HolofernesesHead · 18/07/2012 17:16

Where do you get those wolf fleeces from? I've always wondered that. I've never seen one in a shop.

Pickles77 · 18/07/2012 17:17

I love it!

smellylittleorange · 18/07/2012 17:20

thanks all

DinahMoHum sizing is actually a bit generous! I have quite a small waist but big boobs it is lovely shape a bit like a forties tea dress - wrap front is fixed good length and not too tight around the arms. Was impressed with Asos went for saver free delivery came in 3 days and got free samples in the package fitted in the post box AND is free returns. I have not bought anything from ASOS since it was "as seen on screen" but think I will in future.

Buy it and put away until you are 50 - then you can wear what you want.

FunnysInLaJardin · 18/07/2012 17:22

I love that dog blouse dexter and also the cat print dress. Age is just a state of mind IMO

HolofernesesHead · 18/07/2012 17:22

really? Blimey.

dexter73 · 18/07/2012 17:24

I might call his bluff and get this jacket which looks like the top half of a gorilla costume!!

thepeoplesprincess · 18/07/2012 17:24

It's not to my taste, but I certainly don't think you're too old for it. I'm in my early 30s as well, and I still wear whatever the frick I like.

Don't bother with jeans tho. It doesn't need them.

Cockpark · 18/07/2012 17:24

dexter that top is cool. And so is the dress! I would think you were both extremely trendy!

NettoSuperstar · 18/07/2012 17:30

I bet no-one will even realise it is a cat print. It is fab and I really want to order one but am on a shopping ban at the moment.

dexter73 · 18/07/2012 17:47

Just found an ASOS code in my inbox - 10SALE - for an extra 10% off until Monday.

smellylittleorange · 18/07/2012 17:49

oh well you will have to buy it if you've a code then dexter73! Have just shown DH and he was like Confused "what are they on it ? Are they little bears?" But he is the last person I take fashion advice from anyway!

yousankmybattleship · 18/07/2012 17:52

I thought it was a really pretty, flattering dress until I saw the close up. It is only one step away from cat themed T towels and sending birthday cards to your pets. Sorry - no need to such cutesy prints.
