I suppose what I'm trying to say is that a high end bag that you really love should last. Better than clothes or shoes definitely.

blue2711 · 10/07/2012 19:46

Can you tell I'm a passionate bag person?! I'll be quiet now Grin.

Dona that's interesting - I far prefer spring and autumn colours to either summer or winter - I suppose there's some instinctive liking for colours that are better on you, and I'm an autumn on the brink of spring.

SE I have considered the batwing Pure t-shirt several times, but I think batwings make me look a bit boxy up top because of my boobs. I like that rust Reiss jacket a lot (if I had spare dosh I would totally order it), but I think it would fill the space in my wardrobe which I have reserved for an oyster coloured tux jacket. I like the silk satin shirt for you, but the breast pockets on this similar one are good on me, so doubtless bad on you. The thickness of my ivory Pure one is pretty good though (although it has breast pockets, so that helps!), so you'd probably be fine with the colour block one. You could get a cheap nude camisole from M&S/H&M (I used to have a great H&M that cost £2.99 and went under all see through things).

I would settle for any handbag I could find at the moment that fit in with my clothing personality and colours. I am still limping on with the £20 River Island one like this, and it is seriously falling apart after only 4 months or so of use. I really bought I'd find something perfect before it completely died...

SE was hoping to wear the McQueen but I think it's probably not right (need to go and try it on with heels before returning just to double check). Probably the Me&Em, but no idea what shoes I'll manage to get on - doubt I'd be able to wear my usual suspects of the patent blue peep toe sty-highs because of poorly toe.

Toe is fine, completely painless, as long as I stay barefoot. Is bloody agony in a shoe, for some reason.

I'm so in awe of how disciplined you are hopefully about finding the absolute perfect thing. I am more of the ny magpie type, always seeing gorgeous things and thinking ooh I want that! Hence I probably make far far more mistakes than you...! Hope that toe stops being silly soon and lets you enjoy your night out with shoes on.

One more bit of bag chat I'm afraid... I'm just trying different straps on my cobalt mini Gracie trying to decide which chain to order and what length (what did you get mrscb?). I've just tried my oak Alexa strap to test the length and now I'm trying to kid myself it actually looks ok, as a makeshift and casual solution... The brown and blue look nice against each other and the dull gold clips look chunky but not bad at all. Would you gasp in horror if you saw such a hybrid??

Where would I find my colourwheel dona?
It's surprising how fresh I find the 'quartz' annina, so I should venture into coloured bag territory. Grin at not enough corners seventh!
blue, I'm not sure. Can you pin it?
And hopefully we could do a group vote?

blossoming · 10/07/2012 20:49

Forgot to say, wtf at those wellies originally retailing at £344.

Hopefully · 10/07/2012 20:51

SE something like that would be fine, but I hate feeling meh about something I buy, and I have felt meh about literally every single handbag I have seen this year apart from the alexa and the balenciaga. I wish there was something at a AH/Osprey sort of price point rather than closer to the £1k mark.

Blue I am so disciplined because budget is v limited - if I spend the best part of £300 on a dress I can only do it once in the next 3-5 years! Also I know that unless I absolutely love something, I just don't wear it, and I hate having unworn stuff in my wardrobe, it makes me actually anxious with guilt.

Blue - I got the antique gold one but would ideally like a chunkier chain I think but m going to venture to the cobblers at some point and get it shortened.

Some really good reductions on matches - tempted . . .

My HoC consultant was really strict about textures. Obviously it does not apply to my Stuart Weitzman shoe boots!
Iin handbag news DH prefers the Chanel, but he said it's too similar to the one I've already got. And in that case he prefers the balenciaga.

AmberNectarine · 10/07/2012 21:55

Ah yes, I was in TK this morning, and spied Hudson, CoH, Notify and MiH lurking on the denim rail. Impressive for £20-30.

Hopefully · 10/07/2012 21:58

SE bronze jumper good. I can see the grey trim right on the very edge by the shoulder. Really really minimal. The other sweater is definitely too summer. The flats look good for you.

I have failed to try on the McQ again, so will do so in daylight tomorrow and upload some pictures for everyone to JUDGE.

We are trying to come up with names for a website. It is hilarious. DH surprisingly good at it.

See, I would like some snakeskin shoes, but they all seem to have cream or beige involved.

PaddingtonBare · 10/07/2012 22:27

Oh dear - so suede is bad?
