Expensive smelling perfumes...

Was out for lunch today with a friend and she was wearing a perfume that just smelt expensive, luxurious and just gorgeous. Forgot to ask her what it was but just wanted to know what you would consider an expensive perfume smell?

Used to be the most heady and expensive smelling perfume I had (inspired a very erotic love letter form a person I met in Paris ) was actaully very inexpensive - 'Elusive' by Avon - they stopped making it and I have searched ever more for one that smells like it...

lynettescavo yes Tom Ford is just the branding of the perfumes/makeup and they are estee lauder products.

I love Hermes Ambre Narguile

One unusual perfume that is haunting, unusual and warm and spicy, yet also 'cool' and a little medicinal is Serge Lutens Chergui. I recommend searching that out and it's a good one if you don't like all-out humdingers like Arabie or Muscs Koublai Khan, Fumerie Turque or those Montale Oud style ones.

I like Chanel N05 (get the parfum...it lasts longer!) for evenings and either CK1 or I have a Reese Witherspoon one from Avon for eveyday. Great hearing all these tips though. Love perfume.

Also, if you like Angel, Byblos Cielo -cheap as chips on ebay.it. I have a 200ml bottle and paid 7 euro.

I recently had to ask a woman I work with what her perfume is because she has worn it every time I've seen her for 5 years and she smells and looks sooooooo classy. It's Aromatics Elixir.

DKNY Delicious Night is another really nice one imo.

The really expensive perfume that I love is Grossmith's Shem-el-Nessim, from Les Senteurs.

Marc Jacobs LOLA !!!! Just gorgeous! Only downside.....it runs out far too quickly!!! love it!

My favourite perfume by a clear mile. I have never found anything that comes close.

I've always worn Mitsouko or l'heure bleue for evenings

But I'm loving miller Harris tabac at the moment - they all smell expensive to me.

I have two bottles of Chanel no 5 upstairs as my FIL always gets me it at Xmas. It smells like air freshener on me. :( wish he would get me any other Chanel!

Can you still buy Samsara?? I used to love that. Whenever I get a perfume I can never smell it on me.

Glasto- I grabbed a bottle of n5 hurtling through duty free thinking it was my beloved n19 and although I'm finishing it now because it's all I have left, I have to agree, it's not nice on me at all. Harsh smelling somehow. Yet on others it smells lovely and posh.
