Small boobs...

AIBU to think that I could find a bra that is uplifting, but not wodged full of foam, which will be flattering on those of us who are not overendowed on the boobicular area?
At the moment it either looks like I'm completely flat chested, or have two bean bags shoved down there.

I am struggling to find a bra that's pretty and supportive. Any recommendations?

Ok, try a 38GG and possibly a 38G and a 38H. However if you did a 38 band too loose (rides up or you can fit more than 2 fingers under the band), try a 36H and possibly a 36HH

JeeanieYuss · 27/01/2013 02:49

Me to please?

I'm 33 under and 38 across my boobs, would that make me either a 32/34 E Confused

TIA!

SorrelForbes · 27/01/2013 08:29

Yes, try a 32DD, 32E and a 34D, 34DD.

JeeanieYuss · 27/01/2013 10:39

Thanks Sorrel :)

I shall let you know how I get on, currently wearing a 38B, can't wait to start trying on some new ones.. Grin

SorrelForbes · 27/01/2013 12:04

Please do come back and update. Happy shopping.

I know I'm late to this thread, but I am a fanatical H&M bra wearer, and have small breasticals, so I am just adding my vote into the discussion Smile
I have tried M&S over & over again, but I always find them too 'perky' right at the front Blush

SorrelForbes · 27/01/2013 22:11

Unfortunately I can't try H&M bras as they, like many other high street retailers, seem unable to grasp the fact that many women (e.g. often those with a dress size 8 - 14) frequently need a smaller back than 32! H&M along with Top Shop and New Look is a great place to go bad bra sightseeing! All those young, slim teens wearing their 34Bs with the backs up under their armpits (or higher).

vic1981 · 31/01/2013 00:08

Hi, am late to this thread- but wondered if one of you kind ladies could help me? Have been wearing a 34A for years, but having done the measurements have 29 inches under bust, and 34 inches over! What kind of size should I be looking to start at?

blueberry2310 · 31/01/2013 02:13

Hi , also late to this thread. I've been wearing 34a and 34aa for years. Although neither ever fitted that well. My measurements are 31 under and 32.5 over. What size should I start with? Thanks in advance.

SorrelForbes · 31/01/2013 12:58

vic1981 I'd try a 28E, 28DD and a 30D, 30DD. I would expect the 28 back to fit better. Make sure you get the band fitting right first before sorting out the cups by trying it on back to front.

Testing the band and cup
To test the band size, put the bra (in this example a 30 back) on back to front on the loosest hooks. If you can breathe but if feels tight and you can only fit two fingers underneath the wire at the front, then that's the correct back size for you. If it's so tight it's unbearable then go up a size.

The cup will differ much more between brands and styles than the back. Turn the bra round the correct way, lean forward then take your right hand and put it inside your left cup. Reach right round under your armpit/towards your back and scoop all the backfat/escapage forward in to the cup of the bra. Repeat at the other side.

Then put the shoulder straps up and adjust as necessary (not too tight as it's the back that should be doing most of the supporting work). If for example, you've started with a 30D, you will probably find that after scooping, you have some bulging over the cup and four-boobage going on! This means you need to go up one or more cup sizes. Keep going up through the cup sizes until all your breast tissue is firmly in place.

SorrelForbes · 31/01/2013 12:59

8blueberry2310 Try a 30B, 30C and a 32A, 32B. I would expect the 30 bands to fit better.

Wrigglebum · 31/01/2013 13:44

Thanks to whoever bumped this thread.

Pre dc I wore 34b, 34d after ds1. I'm in a 34dd nursing bra right now but busting out ('scooping' makes my nipples pop out) and from measurements (32" and 40") think I'm actually a 32E? Obviously they may deflate when I stop feeding, though they didn't last time.

HazleNutt · 31/01/2013 13:49

No, with 32 and 40 measurements you'd be more like 32FF/G

vic1981 · 31/01/2013 14:26

Thank you so much- that is quite a difference in measurements, and gives me something to get started with!

Wrigglebum · 31/01/2013 14:41

Argh, you're right, I was counting up from 34 not 32! I suspect they might go down an inch or two after stopping bf so won't be quite such a scary sounding cup size!

Wrigglebum · 31/01/2013 14:42

Btw- I have always considered myself 'small boobed'

CooEeeEldridge · 31/01/2013 15:18

This thread is amazing! Randomly my boyfriend bought me a 32c bra. 'Hmpf', thought I, 'he never listens'! Turns out lady in New Look (!) had told him how measuring had changed and they had deduced that this would be a better fit, and it is!!!

blueberry2310 · 31/01/2013 19:58

Thanks so much sorrel. Look forward to finding bras in these sizes and stop flashing the world my nipples Grin.

Although in Australia so need to search for sizes. Bizarre bra sizing here for the most part 10a,b,c,d etc.

caffeinated · 31/01/2013 20:16

Well this thread has been a revelation I always thought I was 34aa but having measured now discovered I was 32 and 33 so a 32a which makes me feel slightly less like an 11 year old. Have ordered an array of bras to try and see if its true.

Jonquille · 31/01/2013 21:46

OMG, randomly came across this thread and the wrong bra size and loafs of money spent is constant my problem. went from being 40 dd (Thanks dc and bf) to now 34b.
But not happy with what I have now. The wires dig in and I don't feel supported.
Now measured as you lovely ladies said and my measurements are 31 below boobs and waiy for it ... 37.7 on fullest part measuring 90 degrees!
So does this make me 31F? Confused Confused
I am tall in btw sizes 10/12, lately more 10Hmm

Jonquille · 31/01/2013 21:48

We have got HnM and HoF in neighbourhood. can't wait to try and buy some new PROPER fitting bras!

HazleNutt · 31/01/2013 21:59

there's no 31, so you'd want to try 30 or 32, around F cup. Usually if you're between sizes, the smaller back size is a better fit.

SorrelForbes · 31/01/2013 22:40

Jonquille HoF will be a better bet for 30 backs as I think H&M start at a 32, as do many High Street chains. Yes, I'm looking at you, Top Shop and New Look!)

Jonquille · 31/01/2013 22:40

Thanks Hazel Smile Thanks Thanks
I will try 30-32 f tomorrow Grin Grin

Jonquille · 31/01/2013 22:42

Thanks SorrelThanks
will report back tomorrow, hopefully with good results.
