How far is your bottom rib from your pelvic bone?

Misread a post on the blazer thread that said 10 inches.
I've got a 2" gap between rib and hip and DD2 the same. No waist and enormous ribs.(Yes I was a swimmer). I think we are now called 'parsnips' :o makes a change from carrots!

Mine's about an inch, but despite being very slim I am very in-out. How does that work? Mind you my rib cage is completely messed up because of scoliosis so maybe that's it.

I'm lost.

Where do you measure?

3 inches at the side here and 7 at the front. I am 5ft 9 and have a quite well defined long waist, long body and longish legs. I carry my weight on my thighs most definitely, classic pear shape. During pregnancy, my fundal length was always small so had to have extra scans. I kept trying to tell them it was due to my long body ( I never had a huge bump) and I was proven right when both my dds were born larger than average.

I am 5'3 and have no space between my ribs and pelvis. my ribs actually go inside my pelvis which makes bending over and side to side difficult. I have done some research and having little space between your ribs and pelvis can be from scoliosis, osteoporosis or disc degeneration as well.
I've been given stretches from physiotherapists that I've had but none have helped so I thought maybe it was more serious that just a lack of stretching issue.
I have no curves whatsoever but just a slight indent at the point where my ribs go inside my pelvis. I am I guess an H shape. I have quite long legs. my legs are just as long as my boyfriend's and he is 6'1.

I dont know if this helps anyone feel like someone understands but that is my story.

Side - about 2" I'm another 'boyish/carrot/straight up and down' my ribs and the same width as my hips - there is no room for a waist. But I have good boobs and a good bum!

My arms are longer than my height by about 4"

I have about 5 inches between my rib and hip bones, measured at the side, with a properly defined waist. My waist is 12" smaller than my hips.

I am pear shaped with long legs and prone to collecting weight on my hips and thighs.

If I could put weight on my boobs and face I would look more in proportion.

I'm 5'7" BTW. My height is the one thing about my physical characteristics that I am truly happy about.

About 4". Also a lifelong swimmer, formerly competitive. I have a very long back and have trouble getting tops to reach my waistband.

I must be a freak, I measure about 17cm from bottom rib to hip bone and I'm only 152cm tall!
I am obviously all middle

Mine is about two fingers at the side. hmm. When I bend my ribs just seem to disappear inwards somewhere. I do have back issues.

I can't picture measurements in cm, so for those of us who can't 17cm is 6.5" and 152cm is a tad under 5'.

Oh sorry about that, I have over the last few years got in the habit of using metric.

But your waist doesn't begin where your rib cage ends, does it? More like a gradual slimming in the lower ribs and then an inch or so before the hips. Just when you thought we couldn't invent any more crap to stress out about.

I have a massive difference between the front and side measurement.

Not even 2". Yes, I have no waist, no boobies, no butt, no hips, definitely boyish frame. Almost 5'8" (5'7 3/4" to be exact).

Well a plump boy, that is.

I like my long legs though. They're pretty nice.

I'm 163cm or 5'3 and a bit and my gap is 7cm/2.75'' on the side.

I'm a pear shape with a short back but long legs. I need regular length trousers as petite ones are way too short even though I sit at the top of their height range.

Mine's about 1 inch! I seriously have no waist. I have stupidly long legs for my height though. I also have a very boyish frame.

Very weird! I'm about 1.5inchs, I'm 5ft 9in and I'm an hourglass

About 3 inches, which seems pretty average from what everyone else is saying. Funny, I assumed I had a long waist because waistbands on clothes often hover a couple of inches above what would feel comfortable.

by 'pelvic bone' do you mean the hip bone at the side?

I thought this meant the pubic bone at the front when I read it- and though people were measuring the 'rise'.

I'd say it's impossible to measure from your last rib because the lower ribs 'float' and unless you are very very thin, it's hard to feel your last rib.

that would explain it, cos I am pretty underweight, so maybe that's why I have practically no gap.

.. My gap is massive , about 5-6 inches .. Is this why I don't need Petite clothes ?

I'm hourglass with a really small waist .. Is this relevant?

Oh my waist it literally where my ribcage ends. I'm hourglass or slightly pear shaped (not sure where the distinction comes) and 5"7
