Hi all!

Sorry about the rain/hairdo situation Hopefully.

I am eating G and Bs Mint dark choc as I write Verity.

Bloody cold here. And wet.

Bloss- your legs are amazing and your face in no way looks aged! You should def take Pickled's advice.

AmberNectarine · 27/04/2012 14:00

We should start a W&A blog and take it in turns to post. With our range of body shapes, ages and styles I think we'd be popular!

AntPants1 · 27/04/2012 14:15

bloss and decam I had similar experiences too and have a couple of friends I don't see any more as a result.

bloss you absolutely should wear a short skirt. Electric blue springs to mind. Your style is very youthful and that includes your face. Am now picturing you in sloppy black whistles top, ROXY, sky high shoeboots and short skirt.

AntPants1 · 27/04/2012 14:16

Oh and pickled in no way an expert but I think you need a more emerald green?

AntPants1 · 27/04/2012 14:41

So I am thinking of using eBay to sell a few (black) things. DVF dress, Isabella Oliver 365 black wrap dress etc....am completely clueless. Have never used eBay. Any tips??

Karbea · 27/04/2012 15:02

Wow loving everyone's purchases/suggestions to one another. My Mint Velvet scarf arrived today - I love the colour.
Ant's you have it too don't you? Are you a spring? I always suspected I might be... but I hide in black most of the time.

suburbanstyle · 27/04/2012 15:11

Grin Good Plan Amber

Ants make sure you post lots of pictures. Auctions usually do well, but if you are worried about not getting the price you want, 30 day listings with a Buy it Now price are good.

AmberNectarine · 27/04/2012 15:13

If you're going to do it, do it this weekend ants, because listings are free.

I tend to list on Sundays for a week so it also finishes on a Sunday, as I find I get the most bids then.

Start the listing at the very lowest price you'd be prepared to see the item go for, as it's free listings you have nothing to lose and it eliminates that sick feeling when you sell your DVF for £2.53.

Include as much detail in the listing as poss, and use website photos as well as you own, if you can find them - items like IO wrap dress still on sale so shouldn't be hard.

If the item is more valuable than £40 always send by recorded signed for, as you will be able to claim if the buyer says they haven't received it. Some buyers may moan about postage costs but I won't take the risk. Under £40 you can send 1st/2nd class and claim back from Royal Mail in the event of loss, as long as you have proof of posting which you must ask for at the counter and they will print a special receipt.

Hope this helps!

FritziGreenEyes · 27/04/2012 15:50

apuski Like the green dress too! Think you need great shoes and grooming (blow-dry, nails, make-up) very important too to make you feel super-confident I think. Good luck with the interview!

pickled Which season are you!?

red Have you decided on outfit for starting work next week? Wink

verity Thought of you when I picked up my paint today. Will be painting tomorrow.

ants Ebaying is a doddle. Agree re lots of pictures. I always add exact measurements of garments too as people ask that a lot and I can't be bothered to answer buyers' questions

bloss You NEED a short(ish) skirt. Would be a shame to hide your lovely shredded legs!

Baking bread with DD now. I'm out tonight for takeaway Thai and lots of Prosecco at my friend's house. Was hoping to go by bike like Mr&Mrs Ollie do on their nights out but it is raining - again!

ApuskiMcClusky · 27/04/2012 17:20

Just got out of the office (sitting in the car park!) and quickly logging on - and wow pickled, thanks for all those, I shall have lots of fun perusing when I get home! Decam, I have purple Davina, but struggled when thinking through jacket options, I think it's nicer without a jacket really.

Back later!

(hugs to MIM).

rufus101 · 27/04/2012 17:25

Ooh! I just might be tempted into eBay this weekend!
MIM big virtual hug. Post on here and we will be your silver lining.
So, so tragic about the baby.
Amber great idea about the blog! Maybe DailyMail will come calling! Great j brands btw.
Bloss you could totally rock a short skirt. With your legs? It's a no brainer.
Decam was in The Residence. I really enjoyed it. It's amazing how you can meet people you have met in years but you can do easily reconnect just because you knew each other as teens. All those shared reference points. You just can't beat it.

blossoming · 27/04/2012 17:28

Thanks everyone. You are all very kind. (And see me straight from a blow dry and make up session!) I have been feeling my age recently. Finding grey hairs, wrinkles, looking haggard... It is the lack of sunshine for sure!

I am going to look at pickled's links for you too apuski!

blossoming · 27/04/2012 17:30

You've just reminded me rufus, you know I'm Jbrand's biggest fan, well apart from the houndstooth ones obvs, but wtf is happening to their prices?

blossoming · 27/04/2012 17:42

nice going out top Wink

notyummy · 27/04/2012 17:44

This is what is happening to their prices, I suspect.... Hmm

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 27/04/2012 17:45

bloss Did you order the dress you linked to earlier? I'm a big fan of batwing-sleeves.

MarshaBrady · 27/04/2012 17:50

I love Aveda hair stuff, highly rate all of it. Colour and shampoo/conditioner. Rather expensive habit.

Suburban really looking forward to the article, I can't imagine how they will bung it up. You'll look fab.

Karbea I totally understand why you might want to not be in the corporate world, a friend is in the same position, it is emotionally demanding.

Breton hope you are taking care, lots of support here

Looby hmmm about that comment, you are pretty much being amazing with a medical career and a big family. (the word ambitious is a bit crap anyway as it tends to imply 'career women' prioritise their career over family, which is usually not the case).

Annie hmm to your dh too. Hope it all worked out, but you have held the fort for a year or so while your dh travelled.

Blue you'll have to come to a London MU! It would be really great to meet you.

Fritzi love the white skirt and the top. Like Momin I have ahem never crossed the line of Boden. I really like both however!

Red ooh maybe tomorrow. Just missed your sister dammit. Hope she has a good time.

Bloss yes to electric blue short skirt and Ants outfit can really see you in that.

Ants Happy Belated Birthday! Love the dress

NSG sorry to hear about your friend, very sad, but Ants advice is very good.

MIM big hugs, hope you are ok. Do stay.

Gosh that took ages.

Ds1 has a friend here, I'm kind of ignoring the mayhem.

MarshaBrady · 27/04/2012 17:51

So long Grin

Yes I really liked that dress too Bloss

blossoming · 27/04/2012 17:59

yes have ordered
good point ny

FritziGreenEyes · 27/04/2012 18:59

marsha Snap. I'm giving my friend a bottle of Aveda shampoo tonight. She is desperate to find something that works on her very fine hair.

I'm on my second outfit before going out: Wanted to wear Me & Em but think it would have been too dressy for going round to friend's house. I'm always terribly overdressed at dinner parties. Plus it is still too cold for going barelegged and I don't want to wear KM style nude tights. Have changed into red skinnies, loose grey top and silver Bloch ballet flats. Could wear to playground too but hey ho Hmm

Decameron · 27/04/2012 19:07

I like the sound of your outfit, Fritzi. Have a nice evening.

Bloss, great dress.

Rufus, I have friends like that too, always a good night out. Except they remember the dodgy haircuts, etc!

Had another friend of DD1's over, I found it difficult as he is very agressive, kicking her to the floor etc, and rocking in a corner when I stopped him beating her up. I can't say it to the mother, I know her a little bit but don't want to upset her. She has been called into school before because of his behaviour. Not really sure what to do except avoid having him over.

On an S&B note, should I go for the Bloss toucan scarf or a blue leopard print scarf from the Crumpet archive sale?

Must get DD1 to bed.

Decameron · 27/04/2012 19:20

Ollie, keep meaning to say, I use Collonil waterstop spray on bags, that's what Mulberry recommend.

Decameron · 27/04/2012 19:21

Aggressive not agressive. I used to be able to spell.Wink

blossoming · 27/04/2012 19:48

Maybe be the blue leopard decam. I see my toucan scarf as high summer. Play dates can be so awkward can't they? Just about wine time here. Have a really tough week next week, so look forward to relaxing tonight.

Decameron · 27/04/2012 19:57

I do have two nice Missoni summer scarves. The toucan one is a lovely print though.

Yes, v. awkward! I know DD1 is no angel herself but I hope she behaves slightly better on playdates at friends' houses. Ignorance is bliss.
