Hi all!

Sorry about the rain/hairdo situation Hopefully.

I am eating G and Bs Mint dark choc as I write Verity.

Bloody cold here. And wet.

Gosh, there seems to be a lot of winters on this thread doesn't there? (we can all enable each other)
Nice scarf Amber.
I bought this 2 week fake tan Vita Liberata yesterday. It. Is. Amazing. I am very impressed. I got it in the fair, and it was just right. Didn't streak, and I put it on head to toe. (A first for me!) Put on a second layer this evening as per instructions ( if you want it to last 2-3 weeks). I actually don't care if it lasts for 2 - 3 weeks, it just looks like a great tan and really natural looking. (for me anyway) Expensive, cost 45 euro, but got 10% off, with a face book deal.
Emo I am always put off by buying something if all the assistants are wearing it. Foible of mine! It's instant. Nope. Don't want it now. And I'm not one of those people who cringe at the thought of meeting someone wearing the same outfit. I find that amusing!

rufus101 · 03/05/2012 22:45

Annie if anyone needs the long weekend you do!
I think that dress is fabulous Marsha btw!

rufus101 · 03/05/2012 23:26

Some great bargains on this site for play mobil sets for those whose children are so inclined. I've used them lots and they deliver to UK.

FritziGreenEyes · 04/05/2012 06:52

looby So many winters on this thread Smile Enjoy shopping "your" colours!

apuski So annoying about your interview.

pickled Great outfit! Fingers crossed you hear back from them.

mim Lovely to have you back!

ollie Take to the resort whatever you feel most comfortable in. You looked great at MU so I think skinny trousers and "nice" tops would be good. Don't buy a maxi if you don't already have one and won't wear again after the holiday.

It's my Mum's birthday today and I'm already slightly apprehensive of seeing her later. Hope we can make a stop at Outlet shops on our way to sweeten the pill...

Hopefully · 04/05/2012 06:55

Flying visit, haven't read back properly...

NY thanks for pm, will reply later when DCs occupying themselves for five minutes

Annie make the most of the downtime, it really sounds like you need it.

Rufus thanks for the playmobil link, DS1 loves his playmobil sets. Although I'm sure it's only a matter of time before DS2 eats a teeny weeny playmobile gold coin/drum stick/crab.

Incredibly busy this week with work and DH having extra to do, but the lovely bit is we can have a nice weekend on the proceeds, so we'll probably have a family lunch somewhere tomorrow, food fair on Sunday and then friends for lunch on Monday. I may even allow myself to purchase something if I see something nice!

Oh and NY and anyone else interested in Insanity, I did the first 'proper' workout yesterday, and was really impressed with it! Really high intensity intervals, but plenty of rest time in between, and not so long that I felt completely drained of energy by the end of the workout. Managed to go for a run this morning without any bother, anyway!

FritziGreenEyes · 04/05/2012 07:05

emo Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday. DD is always thrilled too when I help out at school events. Love the Cos dress! Very you I think.

annie Hope you can get some well-deserved rest at the weekend. Please take care of yourself. Easier said than done I know...

blossoming · 04/05/2012 09:12

Agree with fritzi re emo's dress. Not dissimilar to the Day one I'm sending back. Hopeless for me with my boobs.
Liked that other colour way amber
Sounds like a great weekend hopefully.
Really interested in your fake tan rufus. Sounds just what I'm after for my holidays. Keep us informed! Hope you're face is not orange this morning!
annie, you're doing amazingly. Hope you have a nice weekend planned.
Good luck with your mum fritzi.

ReineDeSaba · 04/05/2012 09:22

Morning..am very excited re-November,thank you yummy portia and verity for all your hard work!

fritzi hope your mum's visit isn't too draining.

DH off today as shortly flies to Madrid for a stag do so did the school run..definitely heard some bellowing going on!

yummy keep thinking of your story re-donations to the local school..we have friends who are paying 40,000 dollars a year for pre-kindergarten in NYC and encouraged to donate generously!

love the dress emo ,very you!

ollie I didn't realise you don't have pierced ears,statement rings,bracelets work too!

Another great shopping bargain annie

Hosting 2 seperate playdates today..wish me luck

rufus101 · 04/05/2012 09:25

No orange face Bloss, just a very natural tan. The colour I usually get with some sun! A big thumbs up from me. And I'm a tough audience when it comes to fake tan. I'm never happy with the result. Wearing sandals today as a result as my feet even look just the right colour. Last week even my BIL commented that my feet looked frozen.

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2012 09:43

Thanks Rufus! Yes agree too it could be a bit expensive and er black. A sale item perhaps.

Annie long weekend! Much relaxation.

Hopefully is the abs/cardio/etc split the same as J?

I'm keen to check out NY's pm. Will do when back home.

notyummy · 04/05/2012 09:54

Morning all!

Thanks for the Insanity feedback Hopefully - I am increasingly tempted.

Reine - $40K Shock

Emo - sounds like a lovely evening with your DD. Whenever I can do stuff like that it reminds me how much they love it. Our school tried quite hard to involve parents, although unfortunately I can't always make it because of work Sad. The next two things (a viewing of a film her class has made, and Sports Day) are slap bang in the middle of massive meetings I am due to be chairing. Luckily, for once DH is able to do both and so although I know I will feel like I am missing out, the only thing DD will remember is that Daddy was able to come, as he is rarely able to attend things in the working day.

Looby - how exciting re your colours. Sounds like you had a lovely day.

Annie - I swear my PMT is getting MUCH worse with age. I also get killer headaches at the same time. Really hope it passes for you soon.

Weather is still pretty grey here and forecast for rain and -1 at night at the weekend Hmm. In better news, my parents arrive this afternoon and DH and I run away for 24 hours of relaxation tomorrow. I will be wearing new Ce Me blue dress with nude fishnets, and black M and S heels tomorrow night. In some very exciting clothes news Wink I have bought a sports bra from the new Kelly Holmes range, which she has apparently designed for smaller chested ladies like she is, and put some light padding in!!

We have just booked a rather nice looking hotel on the river in London for the jubilee weekend and should be there for the big river pageant thing, which I think DD will love.

Decameron · 04/05/2012 09:56

I think that dress is beautiful, Marsha. You'd look like Grace Kelly in it.

Also like your Massimo Dutti cardigan and have bookmarked it, Emo. The blue dress will be good for work. I have just been listening to New Order and it's your fault. Wink

I am tempted by the fake tan, Rufus. Which shade did you buy?

Winters have the nicest colours, which is why I don't get my colours done, as I know I'm not a winter!

Decameron · 04/05/2012 09:58

Fees are crazy in New York, my cousin is paying the same for her little boy.

Have a good break NY. Hope you get to relax too, Annie.

rufus101 · 04/05/2012 10:06

I got the Fair shade Decam. It's perfect.

Briefly delurking- rufus i bought that tan 2 weeks ago and am still glowing. I posted re it in S&B and had some lady tell me off for advertising as i listed the fact it had 30% off in Boots at the moment. Its just amazing stuff- especially with this weather. And i have tried so so many self tans but cannot sing its praises highly enough!! Wonderful wonderful stuff! Slinking off to lurk again......

notyummy · 04/05/2012 11:40

I fancy that fake tan Rufus but you can only pay by paypal and I have an issue in that they wont let me change my account (long story over trying to change card) and so I always ask DH to pay with his paypal if I use it. I just know he will go Hmm when he sees £39 for fake tan (he has only a vague grasp of how much some of the other stuff I use is......) Does anyone know if it is available elsewhere?

AntPants1 · 04/05/2012 11:41

WIT has annouced her pregnancy. Love the fact that she thinks she can be stylist at all times!!!

Decameron · 04/05/2012 11:41

Alwaysrunning, unfortunately that tan is now out of stock at Boots online. I need to get to a larger Boots and try to get it. Did you find animal print shoes? Russell and Bromley usually have nice ones, also, dare I say, Boden!

notyummy · 04/05/2012 11:42

Boots, you say Alwaysrunning?

OP posts:
alwaysrunninginheels · 04/05/2012 11:49

Yes boots- was just over £20 with the discount and hence I reasoned if it lasted 2 weeks then really it was a bargain. But I bought it instore so unsure re online. It's really fabulous as it left me looking the colour I would go in the sun and no patchy bits at all.
Haven't managed to buy animal print shoes yet as had a matches moment......And ordered these
www.matchesfashion.com/search?text=Acne+cypress+boots
Hence ensuring summer will arrive along with the DHL man! Am blaming A&W and DMBL40 as I started first with the pistols....

MarshaBrady · 04/05/2012 11:56

Ooh good one always, love love Matches buys. Exciting to have something nice due via dhl.

Thanks Decam! Definitely going to check it out in the sales.

Reine $40k . Pre-kindergarten, blimey.

Thanks NY, Portia Verity! I best break the news to dh Grin.

I like the look of a fake tan that is good and a nice colour. I'd go for fair too.

We are going out this weekend. I am really looking forward to it!

notyummy · 04/05/2012 11:58

OK, fake tan winging its way to the nearest Boots store for free delivery! Light was sold out, so I have taken a punt on medium (am not particularly fair skinned.) I am however, slightly scared of looking like this for 2 weeks.....Hmm

loobylu3 · 04/05/2012 12:10

Thanks for the heads up on the Uniqlo chinos, amber. I have ordered the white cargos and slim fit chinos to try. I've never been one for white bottoms but did think that this [http://www.purecollection.com/.Anglaise-skirt_LW-525.htmpure skirt]] looks pretty.
It's kind of harder to justify spending ££ on Summer clothes because there isn't so much opportunity to wear them.

decam- I think all the seasons have some good colours. I personally have always been a bright/strong colour lover so I guess Winter suits me but pastels and subtle shades are also great; I love them in interiors (subtle shades rather than lilacs, etc), for example and they would look beautiful on someone with less fairer colouring.

emo- school play make up sounds great! S&B and involved with your DD and her friends!
Lovely MD card too!

apuski*- can v much understand why you were cross last night. Four interviews seems v excessive especially as you have had to take time off work unpaid. I hope they offer you the job after all this!
pickled- not sure if you have said- what sort of field is your new potential job in? I'm sure you did really well at interview.
reine- great blog. You are v talented!
Was giggling at your comment the other day re Caesarians being rather 'pedestrian' in your part of town and home births being the fashion in another part!
hopefully- are you setting up as a colour/ style consultant in the West country? Do excuse me if I have managed to get the wrong end of the stick!

bloss- agree that the Matches styling is great. I now want this Brit Burberry coats, of course.

marsha- gorgeous MM dress but v ££ as annie says.

PMT and headaches sounds rubbish, NY and annie, especially as you have such busy lives! Does extra sleep and dare I say it extra (healthy) food help?

suburban- J Crew always looks lovely- great colours. Do you all think it is worth the ££? Is it much better quality than Gap, say. It is obviously much more stylish than Gap usually is (although it has some really nice pieces this season).
I like the look ok www.jcrew.com/womens_category/shirtsandtops/blouses/PRDOVR~78325/78325.jspthis and www.jcrew.com/womens_category/shirtsandtops/blouses/PRDOVR~58742/58742.jspthis
This could be good on someone but not me, I think.

Hello to everyone I have missed.

loobylu3 · 04/05/2012 12:12

Oh b**r- links didn't work.
Was trying to link to the Tessa top and the Talitha blouse, under shirts and blouses if anyone can be bothered!
