My name is Season and I'm a sizzler. I'm on my second diy course of Glycolic Acid 30%.

Sign in here if you're using GA, SA, LA, or MA, or indeed some new hardcore A with a mellow melt and searing sizzle. Smile

Those Bravura people are speedy - email to say it already has been shipped - on a Sunday! . Impressive!

thenightsky · 13/05/2012 18:39

Indeed they are speedy!

I did my patch test this morning and all seems fine. I'm tempted to not wait 24 hours, but just crack on with it now.

thenightsky · 15/05/2012 09:29

Well... done it and it went well. Boy does it sting though! Do I really have to wait a full week before I can apply it again? I need fast results.

WeesaD · 15/05/2012 21:37

It's been really quiet on here recently!
I did the first 4 weeks on 30% GA, and although a bit smoother wasn't really seeing a difference. As I know it takes 6 weeks for the new skin to reach the surface and to see any real change I decided to take a 2 week break after the 4 and then start with the 50% GA.
What I have noticed, however, is a dramatic appearance in my melasma, that even fraxel never really got rid of. whether I will see the totally dramatic results that the Obagi gave me I am not so sure, but we will se....

Did 4 mins this evening. WOW the sizzle! Actually audible and visual! Really stung afterwards in a patch under my chin Confused
Going to wait a week and increase by a minute, assuming no ill effects!

RetroMom · 16/05/2012 10:12

I've had to name changed because my previous (bewitchedandbewildered) was too close to the name of another forum member.

I did my 5th 10 minute 50% GA peel yesterday. It didn't sizzle as much as it has done previously though my skin feels great. Maybe I've just got use to the acid strength? My DP got home late last night and complimented me on "how good" my skin looks. He puts it down to me having "a happy glow because he's so good for me" (he means our sex life when he says stuff like that). I had to confess that actually no, it's not that, I've just done another acid peel love, and it's is working wonders!!!

WeesaD · 16/05/2012 12:55

What have you seen change in your skin Retro? And how long did it take you to work up to 10 mins?

thenightsky · 16/05/2012 17:58

Bugger... wish I'd gone straight for 50% now Sad

Am I wasting my time doing 6 weeks on 30%?

RetroMom · 17/05/2012 10:14

WeesaD, the acid peel has evened out the tone of my skin. The pigmentation at the side of my eyes and on my cheeks from my pregnancies, which I have troubled with for years have faded dramatically. My gaping pores are no more! "I have a glow" is what my DP and friends say. I even went out to visit friends the other day with no make up on! I usually need all the help I can get. I'm 46 and my skin is better now than it was in my 30s.

I didn't work up to the 50%. I reported back on here about doing the 30% and then the 50% in one night because I didn't feel the 30% had done anything for me. I think my skin is use to treatments. I have a micro-dermabrasion unit and I dermaroller once a month.

Do not go gently into that good night.
Rage, rage, rage!

I will fight aging till the very end!

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 17/05/2012 13:41

working at home, so did a quick sizzle and as a work email came in, forgot I had it on, so left longer than usual. Applid the HLA serum afterwards - face feels very tight - hope that's a good sign Grin

AmazingDisgrace · 17/05/2012 23:14

Just finished my 2 week break and moved onto 50% GA (was on SA prior) It's definitely more tingly! The neutraliser fizz is a bit alarming too at first. Did it for 4mins as have used a product with 30% GA a while ago with no ill effects.

My skin feels a little tight but nothing worrying and its defnitely glowy. Not bad for the first go at GA

mrsDalts · 18/05/2012 12:20

Can anyone advise about if its ok to do a peel after vein wave treatment? I've had one session and am going for a second in a months time. The vein wave practitioner advised me to speak to Bravura or a therapist and Bravura advised me to speak to the VWave practitioner? it says on the written info to speak to a Dr - mine hardly gives you a look/attention for medical problems he'd probably implode if I contacted him about this!

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 18/05/2012 13:47

am very pleased with yesteraday's peel followed by teh hyaluronic acid serum - skin defintiely looke better - blackheads around and on nose reduced (don;t I sound lovely Grin) - slow afternoon working from home am so temtpted to do another today......................

SeasonOfTheWitch · 18/05/2012 20:35

love the 'no, it's not the sex ffs, it's the acid' Grin

i finally got round to the 2nd 30% ga of course 2 last night and wish i'd done it sooner (life been a bit annoying for the last week). i'm not feeling well but the peel's making me look ok.

i did it for 5 and a half mins for no good reason other than i didn't know how long to do and then couldn't get open the fort knox that is the neutraliser Hmm

sorry mrsdalts but i don't even know what that is. i reckon i'd wait til treatment is over tho

what do you reckon to the h serum dew stuff guy? and no - don't peel again already!

Grin at Fort Knox Neutraliser. I have to wear marigolds to get a grip on that bloody lid.

TheGruffalosbitch · 18/05/2012 20:52

cutitoutandrestar is also use EL day wear but have just started mixing it with no 7 face screen which has an spf of 50 and its seems to be lovely, mixing it with the moisturiser makes it go on better too.

FourYolksAche · 18/05/2012 21:00

Random tale of doom: I haven't sizzled yet, but I do have some Nutrogena Pink Grapefruit daily scrub thing. Anyway I looked at the ingredients and it has salicylic and lactic acids in. So instead of washing it straight off, I kept it on during my shower so about 5 mins.

I now look like I've spent all day sunbathing in the Bahamas with no suncream Sad bright red, tight and erm smooth. DIY cowboy peel stylee. I'm expecting to look ten years younger tomorrow. I didn't scrub it in or do anything so it must've been the acids.

MrsBovary · 19/05/2012 17:32

I forgot to check in after sizzle number four.

It was three or four days late this week, but I still decided to go on to do six minutes.
I think my skin is generally lovely and soft, and as I think others have mentioned, little make-up (i.e. foundation) seems to be needed and goes on beautifully. No more spot outbreaks since the last peel!

CutItOutAndRestart · 19/05/2012 17:41

ouch four that sounds painful. It might be other things in the scrub that have caused the redness in combination from any steam in the shower which would open any pores and strengthen the effect.

I did my second SA peel last night and it did sting! I love it though :) I have started using some boots soltan factor 50 while I wait for my new BB cream.

I wish I had found this years ago

MissFoodie · 19/05/2012 20:44

update:
I did series of SA 10%, ok, but didn't perform any miracles for me, and I had lots of peeling.
Yesterday went for a professional facial/GA peel (was invited to review) and was v good, she told me it was 18% GA (makes our stuff sound uber strong!) and she also used a dermaroller (I was petrified). Anyway, today you can really see a difference, clearer skin and a bit of a glow, so am def going to go for the 30% GA from Bravura.
Am also debating whether to get a dermaroller, she said she uses one twice a week, but a very short one, ie not one of the long needled ones that make your face bleed!!!!
Will find out and report back, think it was the shortest needle she used (0.1 or 0.2?) but I think they're about £50.....
btw she said she recommends doing the 18% facial once a month and that it takes up to 2 weeks to take effect properly and show, so wondering whether we should all be taking 2 weeks in between peels and not just 1???

thenightsky · 19/05/2012 21:24

Gawd almighty... i was thinking 1 week was too long Shock

I'm going for sizzle number 2 (30%) tomorrow which is 6 days since my last.

RetroMom · 19/05/2012 21:29

MissFoodie you can get dermarollers off Ebay for a lot less than £50. The smallest needle is 0.5mm

ggirl · 19/05/2012 21:44

I think you need to leave it a while in between peels to let the skin repair and the collagen to do whatever collagen does.............nearly sound like I know what I'm on aboutGrin

SeasonOfTheWitch · 19/05/2012 23:49

top marks for the update and for the collagen science Wink ggirl. how long does she leave hers on for?

i'm sold on the dermaroller. let us know which one you go for please.

four has it settled down yet? i agree it sounds like it might have been summat else in the scrub.
